As always, a thorough and informative review / demo of another great product. You knowledge of the goods you supply is second to none and the time, care and attention to detail you go into, to provide your customers with important information is hugely appreciated. I love visiting your channel, if only to educate myself on the potential pro's and con's of new technology. Thank you and keep them coming.

Excellent video, thank you. Wish I'd watched it before. I used my new machine as a washer dryer last night for the first time. I think I may have set the dryer time to A3 because with the very basic instructions that came with the machine I didn't appreciate the difference. In fact I didn't get anything other than a basic sheet of instructions and nowhere does it mention the dryer settings. My problem was that the machine indicated that there was 1 minute to go so I went and made a cup of tea and it still indicated that it had 1 minute to go, After 30 minutes it still showed 1 minute to go and the machine was getting very hot. After 40 minutes I turned it off at the plug and had to wait for it to cool down.At this point I couldn't open the door. Eventualy I managed to turn to back on, set it to spin and drain which it did and I was able to open the door to a very creased duvet cover and pillows which even after ironing are still creased. Have to say I am not impressed. Is it a faulty machine? Or is this the way it indicates dryness? Please can anyone advise me.

It shouldn't normally perform like that at the end of the program. I would perhaps contact Hotpoint to confirm this is ok, if not i would get them to visit to see what the issue could be.

Great video for overall use. However I am struggling with the dry only option. Whichever cycle number the machine is on it appears to be drawing water in while drying. Is this normal? My previous two machines; zanussi & LG did not do this they had dry only buttons and did not Mable the noises of drawing water. Of this is a fault I’d appreciate your knowledge or at least a lesson on what I should be doing. Thank you. Would appreciate your reply.

Hello really pleased to find your video - watching it has been really helpful., the literature provided is inadequate. Our machine was delivered today by HOTPOINT and we discovered within an hour that the display does not work. I know this is not YOUR problem but it is really annoying. The delivering person tried the machine before leaving - surely he must have noticed, but he said nothing. We have reported it to Hotpoint and now have to wait for another engineer, we had 7 appointments before the insurer decided to provide a new machine !!

Very helpful and informative, though perhaps instructing slightly slower could help; very warm presentation though. I did hit pause often. The only thing missing which would help is how and where to pour in power or liquid detergent ? I note that some cycles don't take powder. The section for soap looks a bit complicated.

How do I find the lint screen in these heat pump machines. I'm used to the lint catcher removable screen types in a regular machine that you clean after every load. But I'm flummoxed now. Pieces of lint gather around the door but a washed jumper was covered in lint after a wash cycle. What am I missing.

How the hell do you run a dry only! As no matter what setting if you click only dry option. It runs the setting that that’s apply to and pumps the drum full of water! It’s never going to dry. They should have removed the dry setting to a separate program so it will only dry like my previous hotpoint

  • @lords-electrical

Must admit it is not easy but if you select program 1 on the dial, then press the dry only option, the the drying options are underneath in the Dry button. You are correct that they should have a separate option for drying on its own.

Dry Only Issues with Hotpoint washer/dryers…. In order to get the machine to do a dry only cycle you need to press the dry only button, however what is not made clear in the instructions is that it DOES NOT WORK ON A RAPID 30 wash setting. In order to get it to work correctly you must first select on the main dial any other setting other than rapid wash 30, preferably select the type of fabric you are drying, ie cotton or synthetic, the dry only button will then work as described in the manual.

The machine won't weigh the clothes, it will normally be a process of guessing unfortunately when it comes to the weight and capacity of the clothes for each program. The only actual way is to physically weight the clothes on scales, which obviously will be a hassle each time you want to do a wash.

This sounds very odd, have you tried turning on the tap a little bit more to the appliance. The only reason is that if it is trying to take in a lot of water in one go and the water pressure is low or the tap is not turned on enough then it may ask to turn the tap on.

This will be for the full eco wash and drying program. There will be a way to reduce the time of either the washing or drying if you need it quicker. Don't forget that the drying will be on a sensor drying program, so it will adjust the time of it depending on the load and moisture content.

This is always a difficult one to answer. With longer wash programs, people are washing more at night or when they are out as there are only so many hours in the day. Some people are happy to have the machine on when in bed but others would not consider it as an option. Personally i do use the washing machine overnight, as we have cheaper electricity but i make sure the machine is well maintained as well to reduce the risk of any problems arrising.

On this model there is a button on the right that is Dry Only. This will disable the washing function so will only dry the clothes

@@lords-electrical wrong For the past 2 days this washer dryer has washed clothes. That's it. I clicked dry only, put it on A3 to "cupboard dry" It's washed them. I'm so angry at the moment I'm tempted to smash thing in with a hammer

The trouble is how would you know what KG it is in the drum? 🤔

  • @lords-electrical

Always a difficult one to answer. Unless you actually weigh the clothes you will never know accurately. we normally just say to try and gauge the load by comparing it to a full capacity. If the full capacity is 9kg, if the wash is to be 4kg, then you need to fill half the drum with clothes.

@@lords-electrical AHH okay, so it won't reject a wash and dry if it's 9kg it's just recommend at 6kg for a better dry when at 6kg? But it will still attempt to dry them at 9kg? Thanks for replying back to me 👍

It's nice but it's takes a long time to wash , when you're got a week worth a short wash would be get one that dose in one go 30 mins wash and 1hour dry that way your not using a lot of electrical just saying

Make sure the machine has a decent load in it, if the load is small then it may not be able to distribute the load to spin properly.

@@lords-electrical oh, I just had this problem, washed one pair of jeans that my son needs 'urgently' and they come out soaking wet, I thought I'd leave by radiator all night but after spinning them twice, it's the same, so wet.. it's crazy that I have to go straight into drying when they feel so heavy due to having so much water still.
