Take what you’d like to use and adjust to your needs accordingly. I know some worry/debate about the door being cracked. It doesn’t have to be done every time. It all depends on the situation/room location. Like, if you’re near a stairwell or if it’s a busy hallway. For instance, I don’t have a balcony in this room, but if I did, I’d check that as well. My thought exactly.

Don't forget to check the mirror. Put your finger right up to the mirror touching it. If there is a gap between your real finger and it's reflection, it's a 2 way mirror and safe. However if there isn't a gap, it's a 1 way mirror and somebody is probably watching you. Stay safe!

The first thing I do is strip the entire bed down. You would be surprise at what's under those sheets and mattresses. I use a flashlight and take photos on zoom level. My luggage goes in the bathroom temporarily.

I will, thanks. I bring disinfectant wipes and wipe down anything someone could have touched. And I never use those water glasses, etc and take off all the pillows/decorative stuff on my bed and put my own zippered pillow cases on. I have a small blacklight too to see hidden dirt.😁@@CourtTooFly

Never leave your open while you go inside a room and can be followed in or have your luggage stolen. Be better to get hotel staff or security to escort you to your room.

Once my friend was in a hotel, she woke up in the middle of the night to hear noises coming from outside her room, she went to check and someone had a string device that they stuck under the door crack trying to get a grip of the door handle and pull it down to unlock it, when she was up she also noticed camera lights in her room. She called management and the cops came, she moved room and checked everything. So I mean better safe than sorry
