I don't think think I have ever seen a hotel advertise itself with as many KZread videos as the Iberostar has; it is wonderful because it really gives a prospective guest a great idea about whether or not this hotel is what he/she is looking for. For me it seems perfect. I am coming next week. The place seems to have so much to entertain. This particular video offered some great info on the workout area , which interested me, & there was good detail on the amenities offered in the rooms. Well done. Whoever did th voiceover on the video: You've got a clear, pleasant speaking voice that was very effective.

Great review, covers all the areas and well explained. Interesting that you can use European ends in the electrical sockets. I wonder about the power though. Does a Dutch hair dryer work under that current? Anyways, intriguing. Love the balcony laundry dry rack, not always allowed in other resorts! Love the slow moving camera angles, it's perfect. Great video, thanks for uploading! I have two questions... First I'd like to know if this resort has a lively vibe in general. I'm not looking for clubs or springbreak vibe, but I'd like a place that is a bit lively during the day AND in the evening. Is there any animation during the day? different shows at night? A place where people hang out and have a drink during the (late) evening? My second question is regarding the vendors, that I felt were ruining the fun a bit during my last trip to Puerto Plata in 2010... Is it a ''problem'' at this resort? Can you take a long walk on the beach without saying ''No, thank you'' a dozen of times? Thanks!!

Great video! Did you happen to notice if the beach was full of activities? Was there a banana boat and parasailing?

Or there are a lot of rocks under water and we need to take special shoes for that? And what can you say generally about the beach and the ocean? Thanks in advance!

the ocean is sandy. you don't need swimming-shoes.The water is warm, very comfortable. Being at the beah, it's a good idea to walk to left, passing the neighbor-hotel. At the end of the beach, the water and the sand is perfect.

Generally speaking $1 US per hotel room change. That was in 2016, maybe it's gone up! We always bring a stash of American one dollar bills. Perhaps tipping for others things is more but I'm not sure what all we tipped for last time. Just recall the room change tip.

What was your room # ?? I think you were on the top floor ( 3 rd floor ) in building #4 looking at the Be Live Marien next door. I was so disappointed when you went on the balcony at the end of the video but you did not show the view off your balcony !!!!! Would you still here noise from the theatre in building 4 if you were on the other side looking at the lake / pond ? Thanks

you're right. It was building 4 top floor. the view from the balcony is in deed not so nice there. i suppose you wont hear the theatre on the other side of the building

I loved watching your tour of this resort. Your video helped my friend and I choose to book this resort for our upcoming vacation. When you did the room tour it showed a couple of electrical outlets, however it is not clear how many prongs they are(2 or 3). Do you remember if any electrical outlets had 3 prongs? Thanks!

Katana Guttman, you mean whether they have 3 connectors? as far as I remember, no. they have those with 2 prongs / poles. So if you need plugs with 3 connectors, like they're used in UK for example, then you will need an adapter.

Thanks for the fast reply! Yes, I mean he 3 prong outlets. I am in Canada so our plugs should work in their outlets. only thing is some of our plugs(like for extension cords and power bars usually have 3 prongs). I think your idea of bringing a mini power bar is a great one(especially when you are traveling with friends/family and sharing a room. I will need to look around for mini power bar that has 2 prongs or a 2 prongs or a 2 prongs adapter that will be safe to use with power bars/extension cords. Thanks again!

@@katanaguttman4063 for grounding. I didn't see that either. My guess is no normal extension cords. But the two prong extension cords tend to be a fire hazard and not recommended. A good thing to email the hotel about prior to coming.

Great video! Few questions for you if you wouldn't mind. Do you know what the price of massages are at the spa? Is the beach bbq free? I think I read somewhere that there is archery and rifle shooting there? Is that free? Is it possible to go snorkeling straight from the beach? Is there many fish etc to see. Thanks in advance

massage prices, i don't know. bbq, archery etc is for free. wifi is for free. hotel beach is not a good place for snorkeling. for snorkeling i recommend the "paradise island tour / excursion". check out my other video "from puerto plata to paradise island"

+Michael Dixon yes, everything is included. but perhaps you need to tell the barkeeper that he shall use your favorite alc. concerning the beer: they serve "Presidente", their local beer. delicious

Kann man Abends zum Buffet mit einer kurzen Hose essen gehen? Oder ist das nicht so gerne gesehen? Klar das in den a la Carte Restaurant, gerne eine lange Hose gesehen wird. Gruß

reach84HH dem Zimmermädchen habe ich alle 2 Tage 100-150 Pesos, was 2-3 Dollar/Euro entspricht. Ins Büffetrestaurant kann man abends auch in kurzer Hose gehen. Die sind dort recht entspannt. Lediglich tank-tops sind tabu.

i had a standard room. it was absolutely ok. but one advice: when checking in, ask for a room NOT in building 4 (room numbers 4000 something). in building 4 you will hear the music from the theatre in the evening and trash-trucks from the other / neighbor hotel. best choice would be buildings 6 to 8. have a nice trip. you'll love it ;-)

Tolles Video, weiß ich schon wo es lang geht .. sag doch mal noch etwas zum Meer.. lässt es sich gut schwimmen und schnorcheln ? Wie ist die Kleiderordnung ? was muss ich mitnehmen und was kann ich zuhause lassen ?

Vorne am Strand wird leider immer Seegras angespült, das ist nicht so schön. Störte mich aber nicht. schnorcheln bringt dort am Strand nur wenig, da es dort kein Riff gibt und dem entsprechend wenig zu sehen. Zum Schnorcheln sollte man unbedingt den Ausflug zu Paradise Island machen. siehe mein anderes Video "from Puerto Plata to Paradise Island". Die Kleiderordnung ist recht entspannt. Lediglich tank-tops / muscle shirts sollte man nicht zum Essen tragen, sondern normale t-shirts oder ein Hemd.

Yes, it is. I've been there two times on my own and I never felt bored. You will easily get in contact / conversations with other guests and / or other solo-travellers. My girlfriend and I will be there in 2 weeks. Perhaps we'll meet... ;-)

Ja, die passen. Aber beachte, dass dort 110V üblich sind. bei uns in Deutschland sind es 220V. Viele Geräte funktionieren aber trotzdem. z.B. meine elektr. Zahnbürste konnte geladen werden, aber es dauerte mind. doppelt so lange.

Awesome review! BTW, I saw another "review" (more of a rant) video made by a vacationer to another similarly rated resort (she went in 2016) and in it she had two main gripes: 1. "Locals" pretty much taking over the resort on weekends 2. Significant harassment by beach vendors ... acoording to her 5 minutes wouldn't go by without someone accosting her and family with something for sale? 3. Some harassment by time share vendors? Have you experienced this at this resort?

No, i didn't. I know what you mean by "locals taking over the resort". But it doesn't happen there. And you don't get bothered by vendors at the beach. Of course there are some, trying to lure you into their shops down the beach, but if you tell them, you're not interessted, thy leave you alone. They are relaxed.
