We travel a lot and normally stay at 5 star all inclusive resorts throughout Mexico. As many already know, there is no such thing in La Paz. This was our second trip to La Paz for the amazing diving.
After a ton of research, on other hotels and AirBnB's, we went with Hotel HBlue and reserved their one and only suite, suite 601, in September 2022. It was slightly more expensive than a normal room, but really worth the extra.
The lobby was small and simple, which initially gave the impression, that we would be staying at more of a motel, than hotel. This proved to be false. The great thing about this hotel is pricing, to include the restaurant, was geared toward locals, either on a work trip or family vacation.
The suite was super clean, quite beautiful and large. It was on the same floor as the pool & restaurant. It had everything you would you would expect in a upscale resort - drink fridge, coffee maker, iron/ironing board and safe.
The bathroom was large and the shower had views of the city and ocean, best shower of anywhere we have been. We had no issues with water pressure or hot water. Right outside the room was an additional restroom for people from the restaurant. We never saw or heard people using this restroom
The main window and/or curtains in the suite did overlook the patio and pool. We had a small balcony but there was no direct access to the pool area from the room.
Being on the 6th floor was such a blessing, with the restaurant right next door, coffee in the morning was just steps away, no need to fire up the coffee pot for the pre-packaged coffee.. Another plus, is anything ordered AT the restaurant can be brought to your room if you ask. Not to be confused with calling to the restaurant and having it delivered.
Location: Excellent, with restaurants and the boardwalk all within walking distance. Found the surrounding area to be very safe.
Parking: Great.. Have covered and non-covered parking on the property or you can park on the street in front of the hotel.
Service: Excellent, from the from check-in to the restaurant, they will let you know why Hotel HBlue is special.
The rooms and/or suite: Excellent, 5 star.
The pool and pool area: Small with great views and areas to relax. Was only busy on Friday and Saturday, after that we had the pool to ourselves. You can bring your own drinks or have drinks brought to you, pricing was inexpensive.
The restaurant: The hotel provides breakfast, some buffet style, but they will cook you a special or custom breakfast at no charge. We had both lunch and dinner here, really good food w/great views, best of all they have great prices.
