Agreed! AFX has stepped their game up, the detail is on par with the larger scales. Ugly little cars will be a thing of the past.

Good video. Over the years I have used many HW and Matchbox bodies (Only plastic) for custom slot cars. More of them than you might think are plastic. One HW series in particular called the "Color Shifters" are all plastic. I will use ANYTHING, I once used a Ford Dealers key chain promo to build an F-250 light tow truck on a Dash chassis.

@@slotcarsandhotrains It takes a certain "eye" to spot the plastic ones while in the package but a clue is to check out the rivets holding the chassis on, they are pretty obviously plastic. Another excellent source of cool bodies are for a Japanese company called "F-Toys" Believe it or not they were (and maybe still are) given out with a certain brand of Japanese gum, as a FREE promo. The detail is unbelievable, the catch is the wheel base. Some are perfect and some are a tiny bit long. Ebay price runs about nine bucks when you can find them. The ones I know fit and have built on T-Jet chassis are a Datsun 240Z, Toyota 2000 GT, Mazda Cosmo (slim line chassis) and an Isuzu sports coupe. The bodies are painted perfectly and fit T-Jet/TFX/AW chassis. I would like to send you some photos if you would care to see them. Sorry for the long-winded tirade.
