Yep! The price, the fact it was the very first one and the crossplay (not on pc though) do help it popularity but I'm happy that I can just jump into it whenever I feel like going nostalgic hehe

After getting good favorite reviews?? What could this have happen?

I get why HWU1 still has such a big player base. A lot of people don't believe the 2nd game is worth the asking price, and feel like 2 should've been DLC for the first game. They're wrong, and the 2nd game is fantastic, but I get it. While I have a lot of good memories with the first game, I don't think I could ever go back to it when 2 feels like such a huge upgrade. I do miss some aspects of 1 though, like the big course skips, and the "Checkpoint!" voice clip that plays when you pass through a checkpoint. I do wish the community wasn't split between the 2 games. Maybe Milestone could port over the 1st game's areas and tracks (or at least most of them) as part of a free update. I feel like that'd win a lot of people over.

I believe that would be pretty awesome. kind of like how Valve ported over the Left 4 Dead 1 maps into Left 4 Dead 2.

Man do I miss this game. I put in a request to bring some of these maps to HWU2 with the dodge and jump mechanics. I know you probably slipped up at least once and tried to dodge or jump😂

Yeah! It's so weird how similar yet different both game are! I kinda loved jumping back to U1 with it's lower pace and less sweaty races...!

I didn't know HWU1 still had an active community. If I had more room on my PC, I'd love to head back to it, so I can play with Rigor Motor, and have more track building budget.

I see! I don't have many game on PC so I decided to just download it back (maybe do 1 video or 2 with it too..!) But yeah, feels more alive than the sequel for sure, even on PC! Super fast queues, good amount of players on the lobbies (even some familiar faces hehe) and just that Unleashed 1 feeling: The lower pace, the simple feeling, the memorable tracks and the cars that were left behind (honestly, I was happy to drive the Cheetah and Shazam CC back!)

I can still find a good amount of players on console too
