Hot Wheels Nissan Skyline Silvia 1:64 RC | The H Lab | Part 2. Steering system
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This Hot Wheels Nissan Skyline Silvia 1:64 will be my next tiny Bluetooth RC car. There are a lot of works so I will separate this series to several parts. This is second part, show how to build a steering system. This is a bit complicated with a lot of milling part using my mini Drill press table.

Que trabalho mais maravilhoso.
Вот это настоящий handmade и DIY. Просто наслаждение для глаз. Не знаю, есть ли что то похожее на ютюбе.

so great....so great
I'm late to the party and I admire your work as I come from the world of 1/87 scale this isn't really useful as it doesn't really save space . It's a bit complicated for more and a Labour of love (no drill press with cross side) . I try to make mine as close to the original design. I.e. camber and caster angles. However hats off to you a brilliant and informative solution to a common problem. Just a note from an old modeller living in beautiful Spain..Una gran pieza trabajo!!

See my next videos. it works really well.
Hi there, I want to use dc motor and esc to create the steering mechanism. But some people says the esc needs to be recalibrate for it's angle limit by programming. I am not a programmer and I'm hoping that you do not need to recalibrate. Please share your thought! Thank you
عالی
Great work! I'm currently working on my own RC Hotwheels project, and this was also my concern, that all the other designs I see have created pivots outside of the footprint of the wheel, causing them to modify the body or misalign the wheels to compensate. I've come up with a couple different designs in CAD based on 4 bar linkages, but haven't decided on a final iteration, or construction method as yet. Yours is the best I've seen yet (with regards to steering), but the attachment points seem a little fragile, and I'd like mine to have more steering angle (to drift lol), and this design forces those 2 factors to find a compromise between each other. Bittersweet! Haha. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with. Subscribed!

you are talking about the steering axis location....the mcpherson strut type steering setup has the axis inboard of the steering knuckles....for a 1/64th scale rc conversion there isn't going to be much of an improvement in handling to make up for the complexity and reduction in steering angle of a center hub steering solution.....it is neat and i do appreciate it's creation, but only a few car nerds will even notice for the effort involved...

@@CATech1138 I agree, it's not a very sensible endeavor to undertake, but sometimes you just have to scratch the itch.
Awesome! what kind of trimpot do you use for steering sensor? is it easy for motor to turn the trimpot?
@TheHLab

I get it from a sg90 servo. It’s designed for that purpose so yes it easy to turn by the motor.

@@TheHLab thanks for the idea bro, this's gonna make cheaper than buy 1,7g servo
how do i look for the screw model servo motor shaft teeth?
Do you sell your rc cars?
Heyy! Its a silvia!! I still like it but its not a gtr

I just changed the mechanical system to make the servo fit into the car. The principle and schematic are the same as the original.

Your unconventional ideas confuse and frighten me I can not decipher if your steering system is stupid or unfathomably genius
Not good at all. Waste of time.

Do you have a better diy 1:64 scale rc? Would love to see some videos but it looks like you have non. From what I can tell, he already improved a little on the steering angle of the car on this latest video, so it's definitely not a waste of time on his end.

I love to make the steering system work same as a real car. I know that a lot of people out there build a really easy steering system but it's all have a pivot out side of the wheels. Then they have to make the wheel cavity bigger or push the wheels in to avoid collision with the body.

@@TheHLab There's a mechanical advantage to it too for doing it that way, I recall loads of rc drift car reviews mentioning it
