There’s actually a behind the scenes reason for the legs being different from the rest of the Armor. Phil Saunders, designer of the majority of iron man suits, was already working on rise of Skywalker when they decided on a mark 6 for war machine. He was unable to finish the design, so Rodney Fuentebella took over to design the legs and back. This may be the only MCU suit to be finalized by two separate artists.

I heard somewhere that they wanted to use the iron patriot armor throughout the movie, but it was too bulky to fit in his scenes with nebula. So they just chose a random slimmer design and called it mark 6.

Thanks for the review very interesting , the silver colours you mention on the top of the legs where the colour is meant to be alternating where news to me. The interesting part is in the prototype pics it did not look like that both sides had the silver . So seems they found their mistake but then old half fixed it like you said.

Both War Machine designs are adapted from the comic book. Mk 6 is an adaptation of Iron Man 2.0 series written by Nick Spencer, which War Machine actually had the stealth mode.

The mark 6 seems like a slender version of the mark 3. The shape of the arc reactor are the same. Just wish we saw more of this suit in action. Maybe, when Armor Wars comes out Rhody will once again wear this suit after its fixed. Because believe me, as much as I LOVE the Iron Patriot Mark 2 its just too THICC for stealth and tight areas.
