    Hi, this is my first time writing and have to say that i found your content awesome. I was wondering what would you recommend for Man of Steel version of Hottoys using your technique of using wires for a dynamic pose ground or flying.

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to write your comment 😊 My apologies, I’m not so sure I fully understand the question since I do not own the Man of Steel version of Hot Toys Superman so I don’t know if the suit can unzip at the back. If the Man of Steel figure can unzip at the back then you should be able to apply the same techniques here using a bent wire around dynamic pole then inserting it into the backside of the figure body - but that method is really only meant for vertical hovering poses. If you want him flying horizontally then it’s probably better to use the display clamp with foam padding to protect the suit. I hope that helps answer your question and thanks again for watching & commenting!

    Another great video. A request - because of the very limited mobility of Wonder Woman I would particularly like to see what you can do with this figure, if you would care to do a video on her. In particular I'd like to know how you keep her hair styled as my gal has the super frizzies.

    Thanks for watching! As it turns out I won't be doing a solo video for Wonder Woman since her seamless body is known to crack/tear when posed aggressively, and replacement seamless bodies are more expensive than I originally thought 😅 I'd recommend checking out one of the best posers yongbum73 on Instagram. He's got some epic poses of Wonder Woman, but I will mention that he swapped out the body to be more posable: instagram.com/yongbum73?igshid=1eundx6yfl8np As for the hair, I didn't use any hair products... not even water. Love these videos! My Superman will arrive in the next months, got the last in stock :). Love these Tips and will Use the pose hack with a custom wired cape. Also, maybe you can help me with one other concern, for other figures such as Spiderman's is it safe to cushion the clamp with the foam (black) from a random figure in the sense does the color of the foam transfer on the toy? I am afraid that I will not get the marks and damage but I do not want to get the color on the suit... Thank you in advance and keep up the great work

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks so much for watching & sharing your positive feedback! I’m really glad you found these tips helpful, and congrats on snagging the last son of Krypton 😁 As for attaching foam to a clamp for Spider-Man figures, I can’t guarantee whether the foam color will transfer to your figure since that depends on your climate. I never had any issues of it happening to me, but someone did mention to me that some bits of the foam padding dug into their Superman figure at the hips (non permanent damage, they were able to simply wipe away the small bits of foam off the suit). So with that in mind, I’d only recommend using the foam-clamp method for your Spider-Man figure at your own risk!

    @@PosingwithPeter Thank you for the reply and heads up, I was not expecting to get one so fast, appreciate it. So, then it should be ok on my side then since I am in continental Europe with no extreme humidity and with a constant 23- 24 celsius in any season, will use it with care and will check from time to time to confirm no issues :). I will need to figure out how to get more space since that becomes an issue with every piece (I think it is one issue for most collectors) since I also collect hardcopy games, Omnibuses, and big collectible books. Wish you the best, many pieces to your collection and infinite space. Cheers!

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    3 жыл бұрын

    The hovering pose for Superman can technically work inside a detolf if you either adjust the shelf height (I have a separate video that shows how to do this), or you can just remove the shelf above for plenty more vertical space (I've seen many collectors do this for vertical flight poses like Iron man / Superman / Spider-Man etc). I’m glad you really like that last group pose, thanks for watching until the end! 😁 And if you’re unsure which WW to get, I’d recommend waiting for the WW84 (sculpted hair) final product to release so you can have more concrete evidence of which one you prefer - plus, by then the JL WW prices will likely drop since many people will likely be selling theirs to get the newer one. If you’re looking to get the Golden Armor head sculpt, you can sometimes find listings on eBay where people sell the individual parts at a fraction of the price - standalone head sculpts are often the most expensive piece but it’s much cheaper than buying the whole golden armor figure 😉

    Hey great Video. I have a question: I wanted try your hover pose without the clamp and my problem is the suit zipper. I can't open it, it seems like there is some kind of safety at the zipline. A kind of line of court. I have to cut it or how is it made? I don't want to damage the suit and scared to ruin something.

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Ah yeah I was one of the lucky ones where the zipper went down easily but I've heard of this issue you're having from others -- the zip is supposed to move down easily but in some cases the excess stitching / thread behind the zipper gets snagged. It sounds like you'll just have to tug the zipper for it to cut the excess threads that might be caught in the metal teeth, and I've found that inserting a paper clip into small hole of the zipper helps provide more leverage. As always I can only recommend you do so you at your own risk though -- I wouldn't want you going outside your comfort zone and possibly damaging your figure 😅

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    Жыл бұрын

    Aw thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful 😊 And yes, Superman’s suit is indeed removable. The cape is attached to his body via 2 black clips that insert into his collar bone, and they can be removed by using a hair dryer or heat gun set to low (just be careful not to overheat that area to avoid damaging the paint). Once the cape is removed, there’s a zipper in the back of the suit that needs to be unzipped - sometimes it gets jammed on the small threads / stitching inside the suit. After the suit is unzipped, it’s as easy as undressing the figure, but be careful with the logo on his chest since that can stretch if you move too quickly. Also the ankle joints inside the boots are also prone to cracking if you’re not careful. Hope that helps, and best of luck! Thanks for watching 😁

I had the S King S head on my Supes for a bit and it really is an incredible sculpt especially for its price point so it’s gonna be awesome on your Black suit Supes. I’m really glad I was able to help provide some insight & context for the take-apart process! I can’t say for certain if the boots are blued to black suit Supes since I don’t have that one but the top of the boots are partially glued to the red & blue suit so it might be similar. I’d recommend using the hair dryer or heat gun set to low to undo the glue around the top of the boots, then gently peel the top of the boots away from the fabric leggings. Once you’re able to completely slide the boots down to his ankle, you’ll be able to undo the ankle joint at that point.

    Regarding posing the figure using the clamp, have you or anyone else tried wrapping the clamp in fabric? What if you wrapped the clamp in a thick fabric like sherpa fabric, or wrap the foam in silk, would either protect the figure from damage?

  • @PosingwithPeter

    Thanks for watching & commenting! I personally can't say that I've tried using alternate fabrics, although my guess is it could work fine just as long as the fabric doesn't become sticky in hot and humid climates. The reason I went with the black foam that's included in the box is because Hot Toys uses that specific material to protect the figures during shipment and long term storage... and since the clamp itself is black, I thought might as well utilize the included materials that are specifically designed to protect the figure ☺️ Do what works best for you! 😁

    So I got a new hot toys superman but somethings seem off the abs don't seem to be center and the area where the belt it kinda out a little bit and the left seems a little off what should I do?

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    2 жыл бұрын

    Worry not! Mine had the same problem. The ab section has its own joint (his entire mid section below the chest can twist and pivot at the hips + chest). If the abs are misaligned to the left, you can try twisting just the stomach region to the right while counter-twisting his upper chest area in the opposite direction. Doing so should realign his abs to be straight. Hope that helps!

    @@PosingwithPeter yeah I did that but I don't know what to do with the belt area though cause it seem that where the stomach or ab section is moved back a little like it's out of place and the spot where the torso or legs start it like out a little bit so it kinda looks like a bump or something when I get home from work I'll try my best to get a picture of it to kind of show it a little without taking the suit off

    Video is great, paper clip is inspired. Tried the trick on my Supes--brand new figure but the zipper doesn't want to give. Anyone have a tip for that? Tried needle nose pliers.

  • @PosingwithPeter

    @PosingwithPeter

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hmm, if the zipper is stuck then it's possible that it might be jammed or caught up in some of the fine threads that stitch the zipper to the suit -- I had similar issues so I just used a bit of extra force until it gave way. However since your figure is brand new, I can totally understand feeling apprehensive about doing that as I too wouldn't have done so if mine were new. It does help to pinch/squeeze the fabric together with one hand while pulling the zipper down with the other, but only proceed to your comfort level. I wouldn't want you ripping your new figure just for the sake of a hover pose 😅 And thanks for watching!

    Hmm I think the time-stamp that you provided might be incorrect since 22:08 shows Superman fighting Batman. If you're referring to the group shot in the cabinet at the end, he's just hanging from a thin string. I tied it to a small metal wire hook that I attached to his back/body under the zipper and routed the other end of the string through the small hole in the top of the cabinet. I hope that helps, and thanks for watching/commenting!

  • @FriendlyNeighborhoodUnclePete

    It depends on the figure. Some of them are cheaper than Sideshow. If you choose DHL shipping, you will get your figure in 3-5 days. I live in California and that's how long it takes for me. Some figures are a lot cheaper on Toyswonderland, for example, the deluxe version of the stealth suit for Spider-Man is about $75 cheaper on www.toyswonderland.com

    @Uncle Pete Thanks for replying! You took the words right outta my mouth (or keystrokes outta my hands 😅) @BigDogPound1 Just as Uncle Pete here mentioned, it varies! It's been a while but if I remember correctly, Superman was somewhere around $320 or so after it was shipped via DHL (keep in mind they are a reseller so their listed prices fluctuate depending on the market and shipping cost varies based on your location and which option you choose). It would have been cheaper for me if I stuck with my Sideshow preorder but since it was delayed a few times, I personally couldn't wait anymore and decided to go with ToysWonderland. It was a bit more expensive but I personally justified the added cost for the convenience of getting it faster (kinda like valet parking -- we pay a premium to have someone park our car and bring it to us for convenience and sometimes faster turn around). In the end, do what works best for you!
