Well here I am back Railfanning on the pan am/CSX Portland subdivision At wells Amtrak station in Wells, ME which I haven’t been here like two years since 2022 which that last time I took a train ride on the Downeaster and I still have those videos of that so why not go check them out. While I was enjoying my McDonald’s Big Mac meal for lunch I started hearing dispatchers & crew talking on my scanner, so I looked at my schedule and there was a Downeaster coming in a minute so then I saw the signals on, saw Downeaster 683 coming at wells which it had no heritage units on it just the npcu cabbage as a Downeaster special interest unit, then while I was finishing up my McDonald’s Big Mac lunch I heard dispatchers & crew talking on my scanner then the signals came on again, saw Downeaster 686 coming at wells which it had both heritage units which each one of those two heritage would be on the same train the entire time on the Downeaster, which that was Amtrak 90406 phase 3 40th anniversary & Amtrak 100 midnight blue 50th anniversary and I knew I was gonna catch them so I got very lucky I sure hope to see them both & maybe in New York again so stay tuned & sit back, relax, & enjoy!!
