HOT SPRINGS & HIKING at Gila National Forest

We drove up from BLM land and spent two days in Gila National Forest at a hot springs campsite. The hot springs were so relaxing on those cold brisk days. When we left we hiked to the Gila Cliff Dwellings to see where the Mogollon people lived in the late 1200's.

That’s fantastic! The drive through Gila is one of our favorite so far. The Gila Hot Springs (www.gilahotsprings.com) was really nice. It was very cold when we went but at least we had the place almost to ourselves. Thank you for watching our video. 😃

Hi 👋. I'm really enjoying your videos. In the future I'll be doing what you're doing with Buddy my dog. I want to figure out a way to get the big horse up in a roof top tent but not sure about that. If not we can put a tent 🏕 on the ground. I've learned from you-going with the Buddy heater & not bothering with a wood stove. I'm too old for that. You did a great job showing the hot springs & the cliff dwellings. I live in Northern KY & not far in Ohio Native American mound builders have mounds along the Little Miami Bike Trail where I ride my bikes. I know what you mean about getting the car washed. I have a roof rack for my bikes & it can't go through the car wash. But it's easy to unlock the rack & take it off then put it back. It doesn't weigh much without the bikes on it. 🚵‍♀️ Keep making videos! I'm really enjoying them because I'm getting a 4Runner too. I might get a small utility trailer for my bikes & motorcycle. 🏍️ Buddy can spend the day in a puppy camp if I can find one so I can ride my bike 🚴 for a day. Be safe. You're doing great! 👍☮️🌞🏜🏕🚵‍♀️🐾

Hey Daisy! Yes! We love our buddy heater. Easy to use and no need to get smoke and ashes all over. 😄 what kind of rooftop tent are planning on getting? I’d highly suggest a hard shell for you because our soft shell is a big challenging to pack out. Also, make sure to get a telescopic ladder, maybe you’d be able to guide Buddy one step at a time if you make the ladder more slanted. We’re glad you’re enjoying our videos.

@@yvonneandjohn3979 Hey, hi 👋. I was thinking about a tent like yours if I can make a ramp or a pulley to get Buddy on top of the car. If I can't work it out we’re going with the Luxe Hercules & optional clip in floor. Should button up nicely in bad weather & have a lot of room for 1 old woman & a Springer Spaniel who is all muscle. I did not know there are hard shell tents ⛺ for the rooftop. I have to look into that. Thanks so much for the info. 🙂 My preference is to be up there on top of the car but I'm not doing it without Buddy up there. I'm planning a coast to coast bicycling trip with Buddy in a dog specific trailer behind my bike after the zombie 🧟 viral Apocalypse is over. I was vaccinated by my employer here in Cincinnati so I'm 95% safe. I might have to work with a trainer to get Buddy to go in the trailer. If it doesn't work the trip is off. 🙁 We’ll be getting the 4Runner 3 months sooner than planned which is ok. But I have been waiting years to do this bike trip. I have most of the camping stuff needed except panniers. I'm waiting on those until I know Buddy will be ok in a trailer. No point buying something you aren't going to use including the dog trailer. 🙃🏜🏕Please be safe & keep on posting!

@@secretdaisy6484 We would’ve gotten the hard shell rooftop tent if we had the budget. It’s easier and faster to set up camp and pack out. There are definitely pros and cons with RTT vs ground tent. I also suggest to look into the tents months ahead though. We found out outdoor activities have become very popular this year(cos of COVID) and most of these items are back order. Took our RTT about 4 months to arrive.

@@yvonneandjohn3979 Ok. Thanks for that info. I did notice some tents & stoves etc. were backordered. I probably wont have a schedule to adhere to & if I don't have my tent 🏕of choice @ the beginning. I can use one of my other tents. I have a 6 person camping tent, a Eureka Apex 2 XT 2 person free standing tent that is my favorite & a solo bike packing tent. The free standing 6 person tent isn't huge, has 2 doors & vestibule's & should have room for the Buddy heater & I can cook on my table which is like yours & make use of the rear of the SUV. Fortunately a lot of my bike camping stuff is suitable for car tent camping. The hard thing will be folding Buddy the big horse up & putting him in an out of the way spot. 😜 Be safe & keep posting. I'm really enjoying your videos & learning a lot. You're doing great! 👍☮️🌞🏜🏕🌵🚵‍♀️
