"Latoya, Tito, Germaine" were three of the Jackson brothers. It was a recurring line that was missed by many, but I laughed my head off in the theatre!
The sitting-on-a-chihuahua gag is so stupid, but it's so funny every time.

You girls didn't say it but I HATE when others say "we can't make movies like this anymore." We can make comedies like *(Blazing Saddles) (Airplane 1&2) (White Chicks) (Tropic Thunder) (Hot Shots 1&2) (The Naked Gun 1 2 & 3) (Scary Movie) (Don't Be a Menace) (Police Academy) (Epic Movie) (Not another teen Movie) (Top Secret) (Monty Python) (Robin Hood Men in tights) Etc.* To those who get triggered don't have to watch but the rest of us can laugh & enjoy. Everything doesn't have to be so serious none of us make it out of this life alive...

I agree, although the reason they don't make movies like this anymore is because the genre was ruined by a string of unfunny parodies (Epic Movie, Disaster Movie, Extreme Movie) in the later 2000s.
One thing that I like about this style of comedy is the more you watch them (rewatch), the more subtle things that I missed the first time making it even funnier.
I vote “yes” for Hot Shots Part Deux

Others speaking of iconic legendary actor, Lloyd Bridges, he was like another icon, Lesile Neilsen who started out in more serious roles in his earlier films then branching out in comedies later in life. Both Lesile and Lloyd starred in Airplane. In the middle of comedies, Lloyd starred in 1994's Blown Away with his son, Jeff and Tommy Lee Jones.

It's funny seeing Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen together years before 2 and a half men.
It's ZAZ (Zucker Abrams Zucker), not Mel Brooks, but Hot Shots is a fantastic spoof on Top Gun. Part Deux is quite good too, though has a lot more references. The reason we don't get good spoofs/parodies lately is because over use of reference humor with no over-arching plot or originality ran them into the ground (the 'movie movies' - Scary Movie, Epic Movie, etc)

Apparently, the crew had great difficulty shooting this film both in stage and on location due to a serious chihuahua infestation. The problem caused many reshoots that threatened to drastically exceed their budget. It's also rumoured that there are still ruined shots that had to remain in the final edit... but I don't think it's noticeable.
Okay ladies that is Lloyd Bridges you may remember his son is Jeff Bridges aka the dude from The Big Lebowski another movie you should check out it's Jeff Bridges he was in Iron Man with Robert Downey jr.
That was pretty good. It makes me laugh watching yall laugh at these classic comedies. 😂 Thanks for sharing another reaction video. Take care ladies

Sadly in the 2000s a lot of bad spoofs came out and people got tired of them.
Irony...not only was the Iceman character in 2 other rediculousness movies...Robin Hood and The Princess Bride, but played the same type character opposite Tom Cruise in, Days of Thunder! Plus the French girl is in the Cruise movie, Rainman!

I was looking at the airforce or navy after highschool. I was told I couldn't be a pilot b/c I was to tall, but my eyesight had me looking at a different direction from the get go. Carey Ewes never got enough of a push as a lead. Dude was a great actor. Spoofs just died out like all genre's do. You are getting to see the best of the best, but there were a lot of bad ones that came out. Superhero's movies are going through it now. Hopefully quality spoofs come back.
"This guy reminds me of the current....." You don't have to finish that sentence for me to know who...... that was fkn hilarious!! LMFAO!!
I haven't watched this movie in years. So many references that would be easy to miss because they're no longer timely or are in the background. I've seen this movie maybe a dozen times over the years and each time I watch it I catch something new.
The sequel is pretty good. You should give it a reaction as well. How about Evolution? How about a random one Disorganized Crime ( Is it super popular? No. Do people talk about it? No. However I think it is underrated and has a great cast.)

An interesting thing about Washout ending up in Vegas.... Nellis Airforce base is a literal spitting distance from the Vegas Strip, and since so much training happens there, it isn't 100% impossible for some pilot to become disoriented and end up staring at the lights.

Good reaction! The scene where the bad guy falls in the dentist's chair and the dentist asks, "Is it safe?", is a reference to a 1976 movie, "Marathon Man". Pretty good movie with a young Dustin Hoffman as the main character.
You two might enjoy to see Charlie Sheen and his brother Emilio Estavez in "Men At Work". Its not so zany and absurd as this one, but its a fun suspense-comedy. And speaking of Emilio, you might look at "Loaded Weapon 1", a parody of the "Lethal Weapon" films.
You may remember the lieutenant playing Shia Lebouf's dad in Transformers.
It's a mockery of Top Gun, Dances with Wolves and a touch of Rocky.
Great reaction guys, you're gonna like part two I'm sure! I love the fact that when Topper is speaking to his native american friend in the beginning they are just saying random words in such a way that it sounds like a language😅 Riksha,La toya,Tito,Jermaine etc😅
30:41 "PYREX PICKLE BLOWFISH!" 🤦♂️🤣🤣
At the end when the bad guy lands in the dentist chair and the dentist asks if its safe, that’s from the Dustin Hoffman Roy Scheider movie “Marathon Man” good movie, thanks again y’all the best part is hearing you two giggling and laughing it’s endearing
Part 2 is even better and funnier.
I grew up on that one...Lloyd Bridges, the old Admiral is the same guy from Airplane, "i picked the wrong week to stop amphetamines " classic..love your reactions..Natalie is beautiful too!!!! How old are you ladies?
The fridge scene is a parody of the scene in 9 1/2 weeks!
You were are picking up on most of the references but the over-the-top cooking on her stomach is parroting *Kim Basinger's* stomach from *(9&1/2 weeks)* where *Mickey Rourke* runs an Ice cube down her body & stomach
One of the best lines you didn't show was when Topper & Ramada are in the elevator & he suggests that she is joking about something, she replies If I'm joking I'd say what do you do with an elephant with 3 balls? Walk him & pitch to the rhino
There was a fun Twitter thread where people in the know made fun of how in the movies the pilot call sings are always cool like "Viper" and "Maverick", and in reality they are like "Chicken Nugget" and "Shart" 😊
Lol. Last time i was at the beach during a family reunion i tripped and confused my nephew with the "who put that crab there!"
12:18 Hot Shots! is a classic. One of the funniest movies ever made. A discharged reckless young fighter pilot suffering from PTSD is reinstated in the US Navy for a top-secret mission under the command of an incompetent senile admiral.
Part Dux is a spoof of the Rambo movies so you should be familiar with those before watching it.
13:42 A really dated joke. "thirtysomething" was a TV drama at that time which had just been cancelled after a 4-season run.
that poor dog😂
The first time I watched this I was high af! 🤣🤣🤣 My favorite was Admiral Benson. There's a compilation of his scenes on here somewhere.
Charlie’s brother Emilio estevez did a parody movie Loaded Weapon 1
Yes you should do Hot Shots Part Deux.

Love this film, I was 13 when this was released, I don't remember when I first saw it but it was around then and I still love it to this day and other spoofs, esp airplane, Blazing saddles, men in tights, and others. I give this 👍👍👍👍
The guy you asked about what else he was in you may know as the dad of Shia Lebouff’s character in the first 3 Transformers movies.
You didn't notice the fish in the glasses. Seen three times, the last time in close-up :) Other parodies, in addition to part 2, have already been recommended by some, and rightly so. Scary Movie 1-5 (2000-2013) The naked Gun 1-3 (1988-1994) Top Secret (1984) Loaded Weapon 1 (1993) + 2 Hot Shots 1 + 2 (1991+1993) Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) No parody, rather brutal, but exaggerated, also has some depth, at second glance As far as I can remember, the advertisements (part of the film) become more, in the following parts: Starship Troopers 1-3 (1997-2008) Also totally exaggerated: Crank 1 + 2 (2006+2009)
Spoof of Top Gun, Dances With Wolves, and more.
Great movie. Another Parody is Top Secret with Val Kilmer who is also in Top Gun . Also a great 80's spy romantic comedy with the guy who plays Goose who is almost unknown today is Gotcha! which I highly recommend . This movie parody allot of movies not just Top Gun. It parody dances with wolfs for example and the scene with the piano is a parody on a movie Baker Boys (Shrek also parody it). The dentist scene is a a parody on a great thriller movie called Marathon Man with Dustin Hopman. The sex scene is a spoof on 9 and half weeks a 80's movie with Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke. Another great parody you should see with Emilio Estevez (Charily Sheen brother) is Loaded Weapon.

I haven't rewatched this movie since I watched it in the theater. I do remember crying from laughter though. I miss having these types of silly movies being a big release.
Lloyd Bridges, Admiral Benson, is Jeff Bridges father. The piano lounge singer is a parody of Fabulous Baker Boys, a 1989 Jeff Bridges movie. The food sex scene is a parody of 9 1/2 Weeks.

One of the greatest comedy films of all time. It's hilarious all the way through. And aside from Charlie Sheen playing Topper Harley, other comedy actors are in this, as well, such as Ryan Stiles (Mail Man), who was in The Drew Carey Show and various live improv shows, Jon Cryer (Wash Out), who was in Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen, and William O'Leary (Dead Meat), who played Marty Taylor in Home Improvement, not to mention Cary Elwes and Lloyd Bridges. Just an all-star cast of wonderful comedic actors. Part Deux is most definitely worth watching, but it's less a spoof of Top Gun and more a spoof of Rambo.
