Steven, I had the exact same thought. He should have said to rotate the crankshaft, my opinion. Like Austin said, turning engine upside down would work and you would want to completely drain all of the engine oil as well. Still risky either way, but a big payoff for time saving if it works. Thanx for the post.

Hey guys, what they should have done is stuck 5/16” rods into the oil galleys and that would be impossible for the lifters to fall out and only takes about 5 seconds. However they were quietly confident the new lifter trays would hold the lifters from falling.

Spirit of 76 I understand the age part because I remember when at the Barber Shop my dad, brother, & I went to, he also was our black & white TV repairman, my dad would give me a nickel so I could get a nehi grape from the crank drink box. That was a real treat. Hot Rods were jacked up in front back then also. Thankfully by the time I got my driver's license that practice had reversed to the big meats we put out back would clear the fenders. I made a few good cheap rides ride like a log wagon which I wouldn't do now but man the only thing cooler than a pair of N 50's out back was if you could roast them and I won't go into the story's. I hate it that the smarty-pants investors caused the cool cars to go through the roof $$$ but then, I reckon that's why there's so many of them still stashed because there worth too much to end up at the junkyard and the crusher. I could tell about the time when an acquaintance of mine his dad stole a 392 hemi from me, I best stop because, not enough space and time here. We were blessed to live in an age that we got to experience such fine machines. ?🤔? Now what am I going to put that 454 into?🤔? 😆 Maybe a simple 😎 T-Bucket. If ya gotum, smokeum 😆👍
