I'm 84 and was striping in Oakland Calif under Tommy the Greek's eye when I was 17 years old back in the 50's. I still do it and love the art. I was an art major in Oakland California at Art's and Crafts College. This lady is fantastic and so glad to see her carrying the art form forward.

Hot Rod Jen , Madam your work is awesome ! Many years ago I was doing some hand letter paint on some equipment of the Air Force ! I was doing it only because the stencil was torn and bent ! But we needed the equipment finished and out on the flight line to be Operational Ready that day ! My supervisor couldn't find me partly because I was hiding in a corner working on it during lunch ! When he found me and seen what I was doing which I was almost done with the entire piece of equipment all done hand lettering ! He asked if I did pin striping ! I said no that this was my first time of even doing letters ! He had a old 49 Mercury that he customized that was pinstriped ! He thought that I was good enough try getting into pinstriping but I never got or had a chance to do so ! That was back in the early 80's ! Now I feel that I'm to old to get into it at the age of 68 ! Thank you for sharing your story of your work and how you got started !

Awesome interview. I learned some rudimentary pinstriping years ago and this makes me want to get some brushes and paint and try again.

I know a few stripers/sign painters, ive been around them for years, one is a old timer named ernie gosnell and brian papa. Theyve always been the hardest workers, long hours, tight spaces and working in extreme enviroments. Not for the faint hearted. Ive always been inspired and supported the trade, never baught vinyl i have it hand painted, same with L.E.D. lights i buy neon. Anyone the the kulture lifestyle knows what im talking about. Ive known a little of jens work over the years but being on the west coast not seeing her work except on you tube, after this video im very impressed, shes a true artist, not just a striper, thats such a small part of her skill. I love her out of the box thinking on her panels. Im now a big fan of her work and plan on buying one. Great video, she deserves every bit of attention she gets! To be a full time painter you cant put into words what it takes to get where she is. Support these peoples work you dig and hire them, buy merch or prints, without people doing that they go away .

Matt, Jen, et al, thanks much for the video. Jen's closing comments about wanting to do a carrousel horse made me think of the old carrousel at Dorney Park that we used to visit, well, probably long before your guy's lifetime. Again, thanks for the video. Keep up the good work, Jen!

When I was younger I used to stripe at car shows, around the same time Jen was starting out. After a few years she had gotten so good, I just quite. Nobody would want my shit, when you could have her do their cars. She is super talented and I’m glad she’s made such a name for herself.

I like her lines. 🤣 Seriously anybody can lay down strike like that, is a joy 2 watch!! The fact that she is in a crusty old guy makes it even better because it's fantastic to see people of all ages male and female in the hobby. A friend of mine is father was excellent laying it down freehand. I credit him with my great interest in the art 🎨. I can lay down paint but I cannot stripe 🦓.
