Thank you for this video. I’m having this problem.

I have a 2012 Jeep Patriot had constant problems the transmission overheating. Was in the process of putting an additional oil cooler on it and I discovered there is another filter that's in line with the transmission oil cooler. On the Patriots and probably several other ones it's underneath the battery so you remove the battery there's a spot done underneath with four bolts and you remove the four bolts and it pops out it's like a round cover with an O-ring and the filter is in there. I'm still trying to find one but I'm pretty sure it's responsible for most of my problems

I bought one today but I didn't cut the two pipes only one to keep cooler and radiator working together.

So with that cooler i should be able to go trailing without any issues??

So I have a 2009 Jeep rubicon. Hot oil went off one day while climbing a steep hill. Took it to my mechanic and he installed a trans cooler. Went on some trails today again and drove in 2wd with tires deflated to 14 psi. 30 minutes later got oil light again. So trans cooler ain’t working as should. Let it cool down for 20 min then drive rest of way on 4lo with no problem.

Driving in 4WD definitely helps. We were on a family trip in Colorado and I wasn't driving trails, I was just driving through the mountain highway roads and it would come on. After I installed it, I didn't have any further issues. The trip was over 2000 miles

I’m having the same problem.. I have a 2014 Jeep and it only comes on after 1 hour of driving. Can you please list what I need to purchase?

No obstruction at all I'm still working on trying to get a temp gauge set up. The cooler is small and it flows great.

I’m having a similar issue did you hot oil light stay on or what is it coming on on and going off

Just need to circulate the oil more. Drive in 4LO or put a cooler on

I'm not sure. The theory should be the same tho. You are adding a larger trans cooler and maybe a better aux fan

You are cutting the metal trans line correct?

I don't have the jeep anymore but it was working great before I traded it in.

Did that fixed the problem with the hot oil light on ?

Yes I didn't have any further issues and we continued the rest of our 1000 mile trip through Colorado

Oh ok that’s good and thanks 🙏🏻 I went to the beach and used the 4x4H and the hot oil message popped up and I don’t know what could it be

@@elpaz527 I have heard if you run in 4x4L you won't have any problems but I didn't want to take the risk. I was able to complete this at an AirBNB with minimal tools and about $50

Hi there, my 2008 jeep wrangler crapped out the other day. Basically the hot oil light came on, followed by the jeep not shifting gears (auto trans). When I got it home I got under the hood and jeep and this is what I saw. Any help identifying the problem and fix would be appreciated. kzread.info/dash/bejne/X4hpzsZshJiuf5s.html

You’re not supposed to bypass radiator like it sounds you did but add to its capacity and cooling by this being inline !
