Hot & Cold Spots in Your Home - How to Stop it!
Everybody has them; that bedroom at the end of the hall that's always too warm to sleep in, or that side of the couch that's so cold no one wants to sit there. We're talking about hot and cold spots in your home. Today we discuss the two biggest reasons this happens. Of course there are many other possible reasons as well, but in my 30+ years in the HVAC industry, these are the two biggest ones. Watch the video to find out what those are.

Finally someone from this county is saying we over size systems in this area. I just removed a 4 ton unit from 1400 sq ft home. Put in a 2.5 ton guy loves it!

Hey Mike, WOW yeah that is really oversized. Unless they don't have windows or doors just wide open and need to cool the house...LOL. Welcome to the 1% of HVAC companies that understand how to do it the right way.
Do you know where is the best to place supply and return register in basement rooms for heating? Also in what direction should supply register should blow hot air?

Thank you for watching and asking questions! There are things to consider such as do you have windows in the basement or not? Are all the walls below grade or exposed to the outside? If any of these factors are true, having the vents wash those areas is a good start. Since the floor is a source of Heat loss, for upstairs as well, having vents centrally located, assuming the ducts are by the ceiling of the basement, pushing air to the outside walls, will create a nice flow of air mixture. Just think to yourself, where are the areas of greatest Heat gain or Heat loss that is where you want your air flowing to create a circular motion and allow the air to flow back to returns and back to AHU or Furnace. Merry Christmas to you. Happy Holidays.
Thanks for the vid! Where can I find those portable thermometer/hygrometer table units you suggested? The store link doesn’t work.

@@procalcsuniversity1484 Thank you, I actually have this model and it’s unfortunately not most accurate. Can you suggest a more industry standard version please?
