CT is and will always be my favorite and the best all around. He is great and dangerous in every aspect. Strength puzzles stamina never stop he is The GOAT

It's CT. Bananas had a few early wins with 'the good ole boy' groups with the Evans/Kenny's of the world. CT has never really had a big group around him, He has no reason to ever leave the main challenge, they dont even put him in eliminations, he gets to the finals, picks a girl that can run, and wins. The GOAT.

The challenge: The best reality competition show over the past 20 years.

Great to see TJs enthusiasm for the show and expanding to CBS. He matches right up there with all the other hosts like Jeff Probst. While I love seeing all the new faces and the first episode was excellent it would be great to see CT or Bananas show up as a Mercenary in one of the challenges or eliminations. Love to see the contestants faces.

Actually CT has collected the most winnings in Challenge history.

CT is the ultimate GOAT. He has come so far. You see the progress as we watch these challenges. I don’t feel anyone on the challenge has shown such progress. It’s amazing to watch growth before your eyes. I appreciate it. One of my old friends went to school with Bananas. So I have a little insight on bananas that most dont. He is who he is and you get what u see. He is good at the game but he isnt as well rounded like CT is.

Disagree. I think the Reason Bananas is so good is because of how well rounded he is. CT would beat him at strength, others may beat him at Speed, Endurance, or Puzzles but he's an 8/10 in all categories in a way that few are and plays a smart social game. That's why he's done so well historically. Somebody like Derell or Corey does great physically. But lacks in puzzles, or social game. CT has great strength and puzzles but his social game has let him down from time to time and he's made crazy impulsive decisions in the past that got him kicked off the show. Jordan wisely is amazing, for me one of the best to do it but lacks in physical strength and that missing hand is always going to be an Achilles heel. Bananas doesn't really have an Achilles heel other than the fact he's kinda hated these days and people try to vote him out early based on how good he is and how much of a wind up merchant he is in the house.

@@TinyBudha Bananas recognized early that he could have a potential career in the Challenge. Other players have mentioned it. He trains for the Challenge. He is good at thinking outside the box. He is strategic and can entertain people. Socially as a human being he sucks. He is a misogynistic bully. The only person I have seen him be loyal to are a select few male friends. The threw Paula, Nany, and Sarah Rice under the bus, and constantly threw Cara Maria into eliminations. Other players don't see reality TV as a career unlike now, and have lives and careers out side of the Challenge. CT as a player has grown. He is not a pot stirrer like Bananas and is physically strong enough that no one wants to go up in elimination, and he is great at puzzles. Let's face it CT has a temper, and had many problems outside the game that affected him inside the game. CT had to overcome a lot of issues outside the game and as a result grew inside the game. Two people who have achieved a lot inside the Challenge by two different paths.

@@TinyBudha Actually Bananas is not great in eliminations. I think his record is okay, he is very beatable. Jordan is very amazing and even with his disability, is still one of the best. I think CT is the most well-rounded person and is the GOAT. On the last season, CT didn't even face an elimination. People are so fearful of CT, they won't even throw him in the elimination even when they know if he is in the final he will win.

TJ IS THE CHALLENGE!!!! I'm so excited for this new show on CBS!

I’d definitely go with CT, but Wes is my all time favorite, just can’t watch this new one, it’s not the challenge without our favorites!

I think it’s nearly impossible to say CT when you look at the facts, but head to head, if Ct wasn’t a train wreck for the first ten years, he would have a couple more championships, probably elimination wins and money.

It’s still the challenge. Just a different cast. Obviously you haven’t been watching very long. Because even the MTV version cast has always changed. Some people get popular and get asked back. Some don’t. Look at the whole series not just the last few years.

I have seen tj on sooo many small podcasts that you’d never expect him to be on and I think it shows just how good of a guy he is. I think he appreciates how lucky he is to have this job and doesn’t mind giving back to the community. I hope to be more like him some day

Bananas has won more challenges because he's done more challenges than everyone! He comes to compete and the wins make him a target so if you come for him, you can't miss. But he also uses stirring the pot with things as a good advantage. Some people can't get away with it, but Johnny is master at it and still remains in the game and at times without people coming for him. And he can be loyal to his buddies, which can bite people in the butt sometimes. For him it helps, people he can have more help in the game with alliances. However, in the end, Johnny "will take the money, Teej" and forget friendships or bonds. Johnny will come for you and you will probably go home. He has no prob calling people out. CT will play a more in the middle game, going with the majority when comes to voting people in, which is a strategy but not always a good one. CT is intimidating for a reason and I can see how people don't want to call him out. He is also if you come for him, don't miss because you don't want to see him in an elimination with you. And that is a good strategy as well. He is also the more well rounded player because he doesn't have loyalties except to himself. He just wants to win and his main goal is not to try to take everybody and their mama to the finals, but if does bring people along he's gonna share the wealth. He comes to dominate with physical competitions but he also is smart. He can do puzzles. Puzzles have not always been a strong suit for Johnny. . They are both good at what they do. But so is the Godfather Mark Long (he's the OG and has the respect for a reason) and Darrell (who held and maybe still holds the record for consecutive wins). So what's the criteria should we be looking at? Records? Money? Wins? Longevity? For me, the debate ends quickly with one thing that forever lives rent free in all of our minds to the point that there should not be a debate. And that is: BACKPACK! And I rest my case! #CT

@@ItsChepps Johnny was eliminated 1st in The Duel, his first season. Johnny was eliminated 3rd in Gauntlet III, his second season. Johnny won The Island his third season with Kenny and no Evan on that season. So no not carried by Evan and Kenny. But they did eventually the Evil Triad.

I love the challenge but I adore, adore, adore TJ I just moved back to Las Vegas (graduated valley high school in 1982) & came back last year to help take care & be with my parents. I would love to see him some where in town. I have the feeling if I flashed him the peace sign he would give me the hang loose sign back. He just seems like a very grounded person. As a nurse I can tell you where he came from after that accident was nothing short of astounding. He one upped every challenge he ever hosted. LOVE HIM!

Reguardless of who has more wins- the Bannanas back pack elimination spoke volumes to me. Johnny has won more tho CT did win back to back in seasons 36 and 37 and has almost caught up. I just feel hes more dominant given a lot of his performances and how much hes grown as a person over the years.

I don't think Johnny will ever forget being a backpack. And even though Johnny Bananas has more titles than CT I will always believe that CT is the toughest and better competitor

Ya ct has improved his puzzle and equation skills on another level esp the last two seasons. Bananas only went on season 38 BC ct wasn't there to dominate.. Ct is the oldest challenger to win and won back to back. Ct is the goat. In basketball nobody says bill Russell is the best when he has 11 rings to mjs 6. Ppl call mj the goat. after season 28 I think it took bananas 7 seasons to make it back to a final. Idk to me the goat debate isn't just championships and ct should have won a lot more if he wasn't so problematic in his younger years.

CT is the GOAT hands down. Let's throw all the numbers out the window and look at it like this. Who would u choose to be your partner to run the final with? 9 out of 10 people would pick CT. People forget CT was suspended for a while after he punched Adam. He reappeared as a mercenary in the elimination where he carried bananas as a backpack.

Surprised I’m disagreeing with TJ! CT the GOAT. The journeys he’s had to his rings have been difficult, epic and amazing; more difficult than Banana’s rings imo. I also think CT is a better teammate which matters. He’s brought people to wins that were definitely not at his level and pushed them to new limits.

resume wise I think it is just really hard to argue anyone other than Bananas for GOAT. I think I would choose CT to win any individual season, but his resume just doesn't stack up bc of unlucky factors (like when he ripped the flag) and his own personal problems (when he nearly killed Adam)

The Joss va Derrick pole wrestle is up there with the best fights off all time. Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, wrestling all those sports. I wish mtv would someday show the entire 3 hour match unedited. Ali vs Liston, Tyson vs Whoever , ect... Joss vs Derrick ranks. Its that good. If you havent or havent in a while go watch it again. Its that good. Its on youtube. The fight these 2 go through was amazing and made all the moreso knowing Derrick was a mercenary and had no skin in the hame and Joss was fighting for a 1/10 chance to win a half million...when you watch those other great fights those guys both have already been paid hundreds of thousands if not millions just to step in the ring. Joss and especially Derrick are doing it for the live of the game and pride.

Joss vs derrick pole wrestling was grueling, it was heart vs muscle. Apex Derrick was something to behold. He just never gives up. Heart like my boy Rafa Nadal.

I love TJ ❤. He's the main part of the CHALLENGE!!!❤❤❤ LOVE THE WHOLE EVERYTHING.

CBS screwed up In my opinion!!.. They should have mixed in CT bananas, West And some others from original show I would definitely watch!!!!. The way it is now probably not so much Sorry to say... the interest is just not there:(

Hate him or Love him, Johnny is the GOAT

To me CT is the 🐐. But it’s one of those scenarios where if someone says they think Bananas is the 🐐, I can’t say much about it. He has 7 and is a staple in the show as well. It’s CT/Bananas & then the rest, whichever way you see fit on 1 and 2.

TJ, Did you pop your collar a bit more when walking out to meet the cast?

"I thought pretty face, thats about it. "Too pretty to do really well at the challenge" disappointed hearing my man tj say this.

It all depends on your criteria: Bananas has the most overall wins with 7 If Challenge wins are the only criteria then is Darrell the second best challenger of all time? He’s won 4. What about win loss record? In that case is Jamie Murray is the best? He’s competed in 3 challenges and won all 3. So he’s never lost a challenge. What about money? CT is the Career money winner. Despite choosing to partially split the money with 2nd and 3rd in one of his victories. Where as bananas chose to do the opposite and CT is still the money winner. What about eliminations wins? That would go to Wes at 14 What about daily challenge wins, that would also go to CT

He might have more wins but as an over all player ive always thought ct was better and pretty sure CT has more money. And i really dont consider the first coupple of early wins. Because the finals werent hard. Compared to the later finals he won. All of cts wins starting with rivals 2 and on the finalls were alot harder. Id like to see them do a true camps vs camps season only final winners have the best of the best then see who really wins. 🤷‍♀️

TJ logic is so flawed. You need to add context to the wins.

It depends greatly on the show format as to who is the better competitor between CT and Johnny Bananas. Team format like back in the day, Bananas was the better competitor. CT has always been a lone wolf and Bananas was able to rack up two wins in the team format as an underdog because people saw him as being carried by Evan and Kenny. As far as pairings, Bananas is a better Male/Female partner while CT is a better Male/Male parter. CT prefers to “trim the fat” as stated in Gauntlet three and usually sees the female competitors as a liability besides a few of them. He won twice recently with female parters but he literally had the best female runner and strongest female competitors these year. Bananas won with Camilla when she was on her 3rd season and honestly wasn’t one the the top 5 best women competitors of the season. He also won with an ex and a rival which is much harder to do. CT, on the other hand, won with a out of shape Wes and nearly carried a undersized Adam to the final. He often compliments his male parters perfectly as he is the strength and intelligence while their strengths are the political and endurance sides which CT struggles with constantly. Finally, individually challenges I believe CT is better, albeit by a slim margin. This is because although Bananas has a higher chance of winning an individual challenge, CT has a higher chance of winning eliminations and flying under the radar enough to stay in the game in order to reach the finals. As far an entertainment value, they both carried seasons multiple times. CT and Bananas have each controlled the storylines multiple times with the other on the show. Only person who can compete with them is Wes. In my opinion it is a wash. However if I’m playing a season (as a black male) I would chose CT for both a team and partner season. People would just be too scared to go against us in Elimination (I’m physically similar to Duel CT) so any area of CT we’d thrive together.

Everyone goes with CT but I gotta stick with bananas.. his titles, impact on the show, entertainment etc.. he’s the goat.. Johnny, CT , then wes are top 3

GOAT of the game in general sure is Bananas no question, but when it comes to competing CT takes that one And imo there are far better competitors and all round players than Wes, being Jordan and Landon maybe even Evan/Kenny

If TJ Lavin decides to retire as Host of The Challenge, I hope Johnny Bananas takes over as the Host of The Challenge.

CT to me is the GOAT. Could’ve won more but he screwed himself and was also on bad teams/teammates. Bananas got carried by politics in those early wins. Bananas has had a more successful career sure, but CT has dominated the dailies a lot of the time and was the clear best player in those shows individually

I think I’m missing some major part of what this season is supposed to be. Is it just a whole season of rookies? Are vets coming in later down the line? Is there a vet game going on simultaneously? I don’t get it. If it’s a whole season of rookies I don’t think it’ll get the same kind of ratings. People come back season after season for years to see their favorites and the people they grew up watching. Rookies are always the most boring part of any season so a whole season of that just doesn’t interest me. I’ll tune in if I’m bored but I won’t look for each episode from week to week like I normally would.

Actually CT has won the most money according to sources. He has Bananas beat by close to $200,000. And we all remember the famous CT's Bananas back pack. Johnny is great no doubt but his first 2-3 wins are because others like Kenny, Derrick, Evan and Evelyn helped him win. CT was a hot head and unlucky in some earlier seasons. For me CT is the goat.

Sorry TJ but CT has actually won the most money. CT is the best it just took him a little longer to understand how to play the game and Johnny always had numbers.

Jordan is the real GOAT

I'mma go with bananas over CT. As far as goat CT's are great competitor, but it took him a really, really, really long time to finally win and all the other competitors were long gone. Also bananas beat Jordan CT and Zack straight up on Free Agents for the win, people ignoring that and just saying CT... Chris has longevity though and great at puzzles with good strength and stamina he's definitely better than these new guys. Also Landon is definitely in the goat Convo for me almost winning 4/4 challenges and taking down Evelyn, Kenny and Laurel on FM2 with one of the most unathletic partners in history in Carley.

It's Bananas for me. Has a more impressive record than CT and more wins. The JEK alliance can only hold so much weight when you consider Bananas' best seasons came after that (Rivals, Exes, Free Agents, Rivals 3). You can make the case that CT could've had more wins earlier on, but that then balances out his last 4 wins as they weren't at all impressive. Invasion had the weakest male cast and CT just barely beat Nelson in the final. CT wasn't going anywhere in War of the Worlds 2 had Jordan not turncoat and carried the Brits to the final. Spies, Lies, and Allies and Double Agents had among the weakest cast and bizarre format in Challenge history which allowed CT to cakewalk it to the final. CT also hasn't had a truly dominating season in the same essence as Bananas in Free Agents and Jordan in War of the Worlds 2.

Poor TJ! He can’t talk

CT is way, way better than Johnny. I'd argue 3, 4, 5 people are stronger/better then Bananas.

TJ is boring interviewee- very flat. The record clearly demonstrates that Bananas is the GOAT based on the number of wins and as an overall well-rounded competitor. CT is a close second, BUT he has been challenged less by other competitors who avoid him at all costs because they’re intimidated. He has skated by in recent years. In contrast, competitors target Bananas, which makes it exponentially more difficult for him to earn his wins, yet he still often prevails.
