Hoshi may be goofy most of the time but he's very hard working and responsible when it comes to their performances, what he feels back then makes sense and thanks to DK being sensitive that he worked harder and gave more than his best survived among 20 trainees. DK is actually very passionate when it comes to singing as much as Hoshi being passionate with his dancing

He has the same MBTI and almost similar personality as mine so I can relate a lot. If somebody said to me, I'd cry too not because they said that but because I'd feel like I disappointed them by not putting in enough efforts. I think it has more to do with thinking that you're being an inconvenience than actually the words. He was very new too so he probably wasn't all that settled and still uncomfortable so hearing that must've been not welcoming. I did have a similar situation though not exactly the same but it made me cry too. It's also isn't Hoshi's fault because I see where he was coming from. I think that's why they don't really like to talk about their trainees days a lot.

Exactly. It was do or die for him since I heard that his family was struggling financially at that time too so I do get why he wanted it all to be perfect. Their company didn't really have that much funds so if it somehow didn't work out then he really wouldn't have any chance. For them, every opportunity was very important. So I do get why he was so sensitive and short tempered at that time. I think DK too understood the position they were in and that's why they're so close. Plus they were all so young, barely adults and the amount of responsibilities they had to bear must've not been easy, no wonder they were all so sensitive at that time.

He knows how a single member's performance will effect the whole group and he stood his ground that he does not want someone to negatively effect the group. I feel like this is something that most new groups lack :') They just working hard on their own without criticizing the others since they're not close friends just yet.. Unlike hoshi being that bold and strict to anyone. But look at where that brings them, nobody in Seventeen half-assing things. Hoshi truly deserve to be one of the top leaders :))

I think for them they didn't have any choice at that time. So they had to do what they did perfectly because they had no other means if it didn't work out. Like I heard they didn't have the money to afford in ears so they performed without it. People criticize the younger groups for performing badly without their in ears in encore performances and give the example of Seventeen but I would say the newer generation also don't have much of a fault. You adapt to the condition you're kept in. The younger ones have always been provided with in ears so since they're so used to it, suddenly adapting to a new condition like performing without in ears is something very new and unusual for them. SVT didn't have a choice so they had to work twice as hard to perform without the in ears to makeup for the impact it would have on their performance.

greetings and stuff are another thing that fans blew out of proportion... anyway it's not like Hoshi's concern was DK being rude (he greeted them, just not in a loud way) but he wanted to see passion and determination from him and these kind of things can be shown even by saying an energetic greeting. It's like when people told me to shake hands vigorously, it's not a matter of politeness, but more a way to show you're not timid and that you're confident.

If it's the same situation that I'm thinking, it was after a concert. They were having an after-party with the staff and all, and some "fansites" (sasaengs) were following them, from concert to the restaurant and then to the dorms. Managers tried to deceive them, but they were arriving on the dorms' street. Then the manager's car stopped and both him and Hoshi went to the sasaeng's car and knocked on the window, confronted and tried to block them from leaving. That's what I remember reading from the driver's twitter thread. Can't remember the part abt his injury though. I mostly remember Woozi's fansite Mint Breeze being involved in this, but there was a Hoshi fansite too and apparently she felt that bc she had sent him an expensive gift and been his fansite for years/bought tons of albums etc he owed her something and was rude to confront them for following their car and putting Seventeen in danger. I'm glad Hoshi's this way, he fears nothing and knows how to protect himself and his own.

Doyoon thought they wouldn't succeed and left, MingMing was cut during the monthly evaluation process and Dongjin was "kicked out" a bit before debut, I can't remember why, but no one likes to talk abt him for some reason

I can feel Hoshi a lot..this makes me remember the times when I was a University student doing a group assignment where sometimes we had 6-7 members in a team ...there would always be one member doing work half-heartedly while several of us doing it with our whole heart and sacrifice our time and energy sometimes we barely sleep but this one person never do their part and always missing and give nonsense excuses end up with another person cover up their work but they still get the same marks or even higher...our lecturer doesn't even care about this thing as long as you have done your work they always like told us "that is your problem. You are an adult person I don't wanna hear any problem with your teammates it's childish..what I want is whether you finish it or not no matter what"... it's unfair yk so I kinda understand Hoshi on that...I feel that a lot

  • @heyitsmira17

Went through that a lot in life, and it taught me how to get things done: either do it all yourself, so that even if it's a lot of work, you know it's well made bc you worked hard on it; or kick out/call out the person slacking off. I learned that I can't feel embarrassed or ashamed of calling out people on their bs, especially if it affects me. It isn't you, the person working hard and losing nights of sleep bc of it that should feel embarrassment or shame - it's them! Let them know that and they might even continue the work or just leave on their own accord. Both are wins.

@@mansisingh5178 I agree that you shouldn't be rude and what he said wasn't very nice but the pressure and stress he had at a mere age of like 16-17 didn't let him think straight. He himself was barely an adult who had to take responsibility of like 17-20 kids along with his family. He probably didn't see how hurtful it must've been at that time because he was having a hard time himself too. It's really hard to think about individual people when you've to make sure the whole team is perfect, choreograph their songs along with the pressure of losing your family home and making money for your family. He had too much on his plate to think about others. Maybe that sounds a little selfish but the situation he was in, it was best to be selfish because he was a trainee from a small company with limited funds. There wasn't time to slack off or make mistakes. He necessarily didn't mean it but the high stress situation made him unable to think and consider before speaking. DK though initially hurt, also understood Hoshi's situation. That's why he didn't fight him because of that comment as it wasn't something he actually meant. Him regretting it so much that he apologized several times does show that. We all say mean stuff when we're so stressed that our head's about to explode but the important thing is after calming down we should think it through and apologize to the person involved which Hoshi did.

I love how most of the comments here commends Hoshi for his good sense of responsibility and hardwork, which is all great ❤. But the bottom line remains - What he said to DK at the time was too harsh and condescending. To say people like Dk are "the reason why the group is doomed" was quite bad, regardless of whatever situation took place. All he had to say or do was demand that DK took his practice and work more seriously so as to not bring the team down...instead of making a conclusion on him or branding him such a term. I'm glad they've all grown. They now understand and love each other even more than they did before. It is wholesome and I'm here for it!❤

Dk is very sensitive and it worries me when I think about the hate comments haters say. I hope he doesn't let them get to him.
