    In my first one there was a girl who was riding a small pony called Zambia, who was usually used for kids classes. This girl was freaking out at the prospect of cantering down the centre line. She was worried she had to jump the small pile of cavaletti just off to the side. The instructor said no. Zambia had other ideas and when it became apparent he was going to teach her a lesson I'm surprised she could hear the instructor over her screaming. She made it, she didn't fall off, but I don't think she came back🤣

    @@user-ho7mg9ol7w you described that so well! It triggered a long ago memory. I was dumped once going over a cavaletti. It was in a show. I had just learned how to jump. Well no one told me that Buck, who was a buckskin, wasn’t good in shows and Buck decided to be his name and he bucked and I went flying and banged my noggin on the cavaletti. I was OK and I looked over at Buck who stared at me like see? That’s what ya get for putting me in a show. I had to switch to another horse but by then it was too late. I got a sixth place ribbon. I was so mad I tossed the ribbon. First time I ever had a horse who bucked. Buck sure lived up to his name though. As long as it wasn’t a show Buck was a gentleman. Funny how he knew the difference. Smart horse. I wasn’t really mad at Buck I was mad at myself for not being prepared for anything. Rex was a big Bay and a jokester with me. He liked to push me with his nose. I’m very short and he liked seeing me get pushed. And he loved to flatten my coat metal buttons. He’d never nip me or rip my button off just flatten it with his teeth, lift his upper lip like he was laughing at his own joke. Or he’d step on one booted foot. He wouldn’t be pushed off I had to politely ask him to get off my foot, he would then lift that lip up like he was laughing. But Rex had a soft spot for me. He knew I was too short so it took me a while to get on him even with the stirrup pulled all the way down and he’d stand quietly. Others? He’d walk, turn in circles, never stood still. But for me he did. I always gave him a nose kiss. Rex was my favorite and he knew it.

    These horses are so fun lol. Quick PSA tho, if you notice some of the horses muzzles, you'll see they're pretty thin around the boney part while the soft nose part is normal. This is because some breeders are creating horses with extremely exaggerated feature, but it's harmful to the horses in the long run, literally. Because their nasal cavity is so small, like smushed faced dogs, this horse can't get enough air when running. Please don't support the breeding of deformed animals like this horse, or dogs like modern pugs. If the only reason your animals are breed for is fashion, you're just making the animal suffer. Get work or companion animals, not purely based on looks

    Not sure what you're talking about. Maybe the Arabians?

  • @WaryJester

    @WaryJester

    Жыл бұрын

    @@tamarawitbeck1249 Normal Arabians are fine, they're bred in dry and arid climates, and a slightly thinner nasal cavity isnt too bad but less effective in other climates or environments, however a lot of breeders are accentuating that feature to the point that this horse can no longer run as much as it's body needs to, to stay healthy. It's gone from "distinct feature" to "deformity that sometimes needs surgeries". Just like pugs and other short muzzle breeds, they just can't breath, some can't even procreate without a vets help. NEVER breed solely for fashion or looks. ALWAYS breed with intent. For example, Arabians are race horses. Why would you breed a RACE horse that can't race? And then breed it with another suffering horse? It doesn't even make the horse more pretty, it just looks like a deformity. This is why dog breeders are starting to un-breed the shortest noses in dogs (pugs, bulldogs, boxers, ect), because there are now laws saying you can't professionally breed with muzzles under a certain length, it's bad genes.

    So, I have had and raised horses my entire life and I always tell my student riders that being a little (not excessively) afraid of them is healthy. The horse did it just to show them who was the stupid one. The crack sound was the feet hitting together and the leg position thing was the toe catching in the dirt...there are more videos of the horse being perfectly fine after that moment.
