Such a great video! Actually the best I’ve seen for this particular excursion. I leave for my cruise on the 14th to Half Moon Cay and super excited for this excursion. I really hope the waves are calm so we can do the water portion of the ride. Thanks for sharing!

I did the excursion with Carnival. We went in the water, but we had to get off the horse, put on life jackets, then get into a horse with a different saddle. It was exciting, the horses actually swim.

That is how the HAL excursion goes too if the water's not too rough. Glad you got to fully experience it! :)

What a great video! We are doing this same adventure in May. Would you tell me about what size the lockers are to store our items in and if they have a key?

Hello, Kevin! Thanks so much for watching :) The complimentary lockers will hold a backpack and smaller items. They do lock and you can put the key around your wrist during the ride. I hope that helps! Have a wonderful time!

Hi, Penny! Sorry for the delay in replying to you. I used a GoPro attached to a Gorilla Pod for easy handling. GoPros are tough so they can handle drops and water! What's nice is the guides will take pictures and video for you if you ask :) I hope that helps! And I hope you have a wonderful time!

We're going to Half Moon Cay and Nassau end of July - Wanted to know which excursions are worth and not worth doing/getting. Things to look out for?

Hi, Bill! Half Moon Cay is a favorite among cruises and is frequently voted as the best private island. It's a quieter island than others (e.g. Perfect Day at Coco Cay) and really focuses on relaxing. There is very little shade on the island so plan to book a villa, cabana, or clamshell if you plan to spend a lot of time at the beach (and you should, the sand is super soft!). There are lots of excursions to choose from including swimming with stingrays, nature hikes, and watersports. The weather greatly affects the excursions so be flexible. As for food, the Pavilion will offer a complimentary lunch with burgers, hot dogs, BBQ, and salad. You can pay extra for The Lobster Shack if you want to splurge a little. I really enjoyed the horseback riding even though we couldn't go into the water. If you want more privacy, walk down the beach towards the horse stables. There are complimentary trams that run across the island if you don't feel like walking. If you have the ship drinks package it will NOT work on the island as they do not have computers but you can buy an island drinks package on the ship before getting to Half Moon Cay. I thought i saw videos and pictures of ppl riding in the water with them? What if you paid for an excursion ahead of time and weather eventually canceled it, im assuming you get a refund?

Hi, Bill! Going in the water is definitely part of the excursion but it was canceled on my trip due to high winds. And yes, you can get your money back if there are changes!

Did they pick you up at your specific time slot or did everyone ride to the ranch together?

No, you do not need to have any experience! The staff will give you a short safety briefing and the horses are very docile so I think your boyfriend would be comfortable :) Thanks so much for watching!
