Your attitude, your private takes, and musings REALLY help me stay connected to dressage. After 38 years of teaching dressage, I retired and I just love listening to you.

Soooo true...finding the balance is the difficult part.. without too much pressure on the horse... Pressure will throw even more difficulty into the bucket 🪣 ..then the training becomes even more challenging and time-consuming...

You improved all 3 paces throughout your trial ride. The hind leg looked a little slow/maybe weak with the demo rider but you got her more open in her frame and moving freely forward. Nice to watch. Her willingness to accept this shows her trainabilty for sure . Have fun with her. I hope she ends up with a lovely owner.

I love Amsterdam but I got lost there because there are so many bridges and they all look alike! Ginger is beautiful, and she seems like a smooth mover who is very subservient and focused on what she is being asked to do.

I think what I really meant was respect and acknowledgement for what the horse is being asked to do and for whom is doing the asking. And you are right - a willingness to do what is being asked. @@caciliawhy5195

I dunno sometimes cameras just make a horse look long in the back, short in the leg, sort of downhill, not much front, neck coming out the saddle. She looks like a dream to ride anyway. Nothing beats a good mare, nothing in the world.

I'm no longer safe on a horse or in the stable environment. Not able to ride anymore nor participate in other equine events. My goal was dashed yet the desire to succeed is still there. Have a good base knowledge just need the physicality and mentality to keep the drive to be successful.

Can someone tell me why the US cannot breed good horses? Are the prices better overseas? Getting them back to the US would seem to make them more expensive?

Total squirrel who has no idea how to buy horses in Europe or anywhere else. Once I realized most of these lowlifes are squirrels and started doing my homework, I have NEVER bought a colt who didn't become an Approved Stallion. The good breeders pick me up,
