@@linette8318 Yes, we do have horse rescues in PA, but the volunteer is probably similar to me. I'm from PA and just very appreciative and supportive of @Horse Plus Humane Society! They're an incredible rescue!!

Me too. I watch them everyday. I love. Just so excited for Amazon Wish List to come in and the girls open them up to show us what they got. So glad when a pitiful horse they get at the auction gets well and get to go to a family that lives them just y'all.❤️❤️❤️

I stumbled across this channel recently and can't get enough of it. I'm trying to get caught and I've made it up to this video so far in just a few weeks. I plan to make a donation soon now that I've got a second job. Watching from up here in Canada I never imagined these kind of things with the Big Lick and actions for horse meat were going on.

You guys need to make a trip out to South Texas one day. ( like McAllen South) I'm really close to the border and have seen huge trailers with loads of skinny horses and donkeys ( and unfortunately plump and otherwise healthy looking horses too ) making their way across the border into Mexico. A lot of the auctions here are animals last chance to avoid the pipeline. It's so sad and unfortunately South Texas is literally a hell hole for all animals. ( loose dogs, abused cats, horses tied up in the sun by a busy road ) My dream is to run a horse rescue down here because it's so desperately needed. If you ever intend to expand I'd definitely recommend South Texas. They are in desperate need of help.

thank you... i was out in texas for a while & i started fostering out of the shelters. the shelters honestly are just as bad. which is honestly some of the most damning i've seen in a while... once fosters are there only to save animals from dying at the shelter (not from euthanasia but starvation) you know it's a problem.

I live in the same area and it's horrible how so many animals are kept here. Chickens running across roads (not as funny as it sounds) constantly and left to fend for themselves, tons of terrible horse owners with skinny, exhausted horses and donkeys left in dry pastures in 100+ temps with no shelter or water, people here abhor cats and I've taken care of tons of strays that the neighbors killed just because: dogs and cats get shot just for fun by some people. One neighbor starved his horse to death to make room for his garage in the pasture. This was in Weslaco. The people here, and I hate to say it because it sounds racist (even though it's all kinds of people) are just absolutely garbage when it comes to animal welfare. It's absolutely heartbreaking. It's a mentality issue here. I can't even deal with the auctions and livestock fairs here...it's just too much usually.

I was also going to say, opening a shelter for cays has always been something I've wanted to do. Horses too. Maybe someday we'll meet other like-minded people in the McAllen area.

Doc is the best. I think when horse plus found their place in Tennessee it was meant to be to be close to doc.

It is so nice to see the new barn going up.

Happy Happenings at Horse+ ranch & corral! Nice to see sensible cowboy hats on outdoor builders..beats the scruffy cap with beaks that come so close to horses eyes. But sweat bands with straw hats over them work well for me in the summer.... personal style I guess. Cowboy hats lend a certain charm to videos, but they can be pricey, too, especially if they're formed to fit the wearer. Perhaps the baseball caps are part of the uniform?

What a great doc. Such a kind sincere man. Good work all.

God Bless you for doing all you do. I really wish I could adopt a horse from you but I had to get rid of my horses about 10 yrs ago because it got too hard for me to care for them. I’m a paraplegic and have ridden all of my life so it didn’t slow me down much after my injury that left me paralyzed, I just had to learn to do things differently. Lol. My last hard ride was a horse race cross country through the Texas panhandle region. That was pretty wild. Lol

I just recently found your channel, and I love it. Ive already made an online donation which was fun. I love horses and have done lots of riding back in the day. I was a counselor at a western riding camp in the Oregon Cascades in my teen years.. I live in California lately, but I would like to come volunteer sometime. Your team is so great. In the episode about Carter, i had to skip over that part. Lately I’m avoiding upsetting things when i can. I know you all took good care of him, though, which is comforting. Thanks for all the meaningful work you do. ❤️

Doc should have some vet students interning with him. They would learn more on one auction intake than in a year of private practice.

I love your videos! I'm a person that always love doc.telling what is wrong with each horse and what the best treatment! Just curious what the knot was on the inside of the horses back leg? It helps all of us horses person to know what to look for and what to do

I cannot speak for rescue, but I have had 2 older horses require euthanasia in the past couple of years. It was $600 each, $300 for the vet and $300 to dispose of the body. It is illegal to bury where I live, so if you can bury on your own property, hiring a backhoe may cost a little less.

I just wish 🌠 I could have done more.😔 It just kills me that this type of thing goes on & auctions and their conditions are toletated on US soil & then shippped in horrendous conditions to Mexico & Canada to finish the job!😡 Like it's ok as long as the USA does not have blood on their hands!😲 My head, heart, & soul hurt for these poor creatures who have no say in what happens to them & the brave men & women who can do this rescue work. When you hand the new owners the adoption papers you mentioned a Coggins what is that?

I love everything your organization does and everyone that works there, great dedication on all fronts. You have built something great where there was nothing. If I have 1 criticism it is for Jason. With the incredible facility you guys have built, computers, cameras, mics, headphones, trucks, trailers etc etc. Please learn how to edit out the redundancy while your in your dedicated editing room with multiple monitors and headphones. Every time the camera is turned on Tawnee repeats her intro what she said in previous clip, so just edit that out. We only need to hear it once. Scene 1- We’re at the auction and it’s late, we rescued XX animals and were going to go get a few hours sleep and come back in morning and load up. Scene 2- Ok it’s 1230 and we’re in the truck where we rescued XX animals and were going to go get a few hours sleep and come back in morning Scene 3- ok we just got to hotel and I’m editing, it’s late so we’re going to get a few hours sleep and go back in morning and load up Scene 4- ok we’re back at auction after getting a few hours sleep and now we are going to load up You get the idea and i know it’s petty but after following you religiously, we see this week after week. Say it once, move on and edit out the redundancy. Am I being redundant enough? Great job other than redundancy so keep up the great job. Not being critical but making sure I’m redundant so you get the point. We only need to know that doc is coming once, we only need to know how many horses you rescued once, we only need to know that you talk to the medical reception team once, etc

Horses under 5 should never be ridden, their spines are not fully fused. It's a shame you don't know that, and you continue to harm the animals you rescue You should leave the note on the door about wearing masks inside the office. The delta variant which is making it's way through the States is highly contagious, and don't forget about the Lambda variant which is new and now in the states
