Wow! What an incredible experience! I have been lucky enough to ride on the beach a couple of times before (mostly at this very stables), but this time we were lucky enough to have the most incredible weather for our three day mini riding holiday! This footage is from day one and I am riding the rather lovely Ace. I first rode Ace 9 years ago when I first rode at this yard and it was so lovely to see him still loving life so much, now age 26! I have plenty more footage from the beach and woodland rides we did, but I’ll try to spread the videos out a bit so you’re not all overloaded with beach/hacking vids!
If you are thinking of doing a beach ride or a riding holiday in the UK, I highly recommend Nolton Stables in Pembrokeshire, Wales (website: noltonstables.com/ ). This was the third time I have ridden with Nolton stables and my second mini riding holiday with them and I will definitely be back! All of the horses & ponies at this yard are absolutely brilliant and the friendly staff are experts at matching every level of rider with an appropriate horse. The five horses Robin and I rode on this holiday were all impeccably behaved and knew their jobs extremely well, but were still forward going and obviously well looked after and happy, which meant we could just relax any enjoy the entire experience from start to finish!
*Please note this is a chest cam, not my usual helmet cam as this stables insurance does not allow the use of helmet mounted cameras 😊 I hope it doesn’t give anyone motion sickness as it’s a bit more ‘rocky’ than the helmet cam!

I rode here last year and it was great. I rode barney who was super well behaved and knew what he was doing! I’m hopefully going back next year for a riding holiday!

they do seem to have good priced mini package holidays, its a shame I can't ride now. It must be lovely to find the same horse you rode all those years ago is still there and fit as ever. I remember riding with Kimmerston riding centre in Northumberland and when I went back there for one week two years running, they kept putting me on the same pony. Unfortunately Jazz was always nappy when I got on her but she improved my riding from her naughtiness.

Oh my gosh!!!! I went there twice on holiday I loved it so much, first time I rode a horses called Griffin, second time I rode Bagel, bi's canter is absolutely amazing to sit..whoever visits Nolton Stables I 100% recommended it, the horses are great..unfortunately the 2nd time I went the weather was horrible but that didn't wipe the big smile I had on my face x

omg i went there at Christmas and omg it was amazing especially the horse and the beach as it looks small but its actually huge and amazing the staff there are also incredible I would love to go back there again my horse was Mila . I love it there .

Yep chest mount, helmet mounts aren't allowed at this stables for insurance reasons 😊xx

I love this video I love horse 🐴 when my mum was alive I had a horse and it was the happyyy times. But not been on a horse in 20 years. I wonder if I can still do it

Healthy horses can happily carry up to 20% of their own bodyweight on their backs (though obviously the lower the weight the better), and horses (over 14.3hh tall) can weigh anything between around 400kg to 850kg, depending on their height & breed. Their spines are formed in such a way that they can comfortably carry this weight on their backs just behind their withers (where their neck meets their body), which is where the saddle goes. The horses I was riding in this video probably weighed somewhere around 500kg and would have happily carried someone a fair bit heavier than me with no problem :-)

Nolton Stables in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Unfortunately they no longer do these beach rides.
My riding dream is to never grow tired of horses. I want to always try my best. That's kind of my dream. But I also wish that my future career will be with horses. Cause I don't know what I'm going to become which is really making me have nervous breakdowns right now so... yeah.
