I'm sure other people are saying this too -- the difference in body language is talking to the horse! The girl steps back every time, and is standing in a non-confident manner. Caution is good, but letting the horse know you're afraid is not. Glad the trainer was up for changing things.

I know not everyone has a round pen, but with these type of horses I prefer to work them loose, not on a lunge. It's easier to stay safe if not attached to the horse, and you can gain respect the same way

Thank You, He is out of his aggressive behavior and doing really good today mikehugheshorsetraining.vhx.tv
What do you do when a horse won't lunge ? I put my hand out as in telling her to go in left direction but she walks and stops in front of my space . I whip the ground and walk towards her or shake my stuff in her face to get her back but she doesn't budge

I would start from step 1 and reteach the horse how to lunge again from step 1 which would be al the flexing then to the forward cue etc. I have videos on horses like your on my members page at mikehugheshorsetraining.vhx.tv

@@Marcoeful ok thank you! Also the owner of the stable said for her to get used to being ridden we have to just lunge her then get on . Do you think that would get her used to being ridden since she was a pasture horse for years? She is very stubborn! For some days I'd ride her only walking when I'm on her but she'd stop and not go forward and do a slight buck just like a warning that she doesn't want to do this. But I realized my bf put saddle on wrong so maybe she had a sore back. She hasn't bucked since so we walk our two kids on her for like 10 minutes and she just acts out a little like moving her head all over pinning ears a little . Should I continue to try to ride even though she does this ?

@@Vashti-akita You should get her to do what you want on the ground first before riding her.
Forgive my ignorance. Why do you do this? Is it to be able to ride the horse?
That happened to me today and he came at me with his front feet and clawed to on my back and I fell down so

I really don’t want to hate and that is not what I’m trying to do here, but to me (I am a horse trainer) that horse may have some lameness or pain in their feet? Obviously you know your horse and I’ve only watch one short video but that undesired behaviour may be be coming from the horse being in pain and wanting to stop work.. it just doesn’t seem to be very comfortable in its movement.. Nice video and good advice! X
Watch this horses trot, doesn't it seem as his front is either a racking horse or in pain and it may be why he's charging? Please let me know what I'm seeing is wrong or right? Thank you and stay safe. God bless

He is a Spotted Saddle Horse, so he is gaited and moves differently
