I can actually tell you what exactly happen. The driver's left driving line broke and he did what he could only do is pull on the right one to force the cart to the rail to scrub off enough speed so they could stop at the end of the rail. I give this kid a lot of credit for not losing his cool and doing what he did. Both kid and horse both came out of this ok.

I don't get why everyone feels the need to scream and run. It scared more horses but that was well handled and I am glad to see someone trained him/her to trust and obey the command to "stand"

Look it unless you are there at the time of these unfortunate driving accidents or any horse related accidents than you should be speak at all. Because I have seen alot of comments that absolutely do not make any sense at all. I was at this show and I know exactly what actually happen and it was the kids left driving line that broke and spooked the horse period. The kid did his best to keep the situation under control. Also the horse and the kid both came out of this show without any injuries period.

I'm so glad my horse doesn't do that anymore. The owners before me made my horse champ do that and now I'm teaching him barrel racing I think champ loves barrels now. He use to be terrified of everything birds, barrels, halters, gun shots, blankets, and alot of other stuff and now he's doing very well he spooks alittle in the barn but other then that he's perfect. I just have to say I have the best horse in the world!!

Seriously, running in front of the horse and waving your arms around, yelling and screaming is only going to make it worse. Seriously the whole thing is bullshit, the horses blinkers block more than half of the horses sight, it’s light us looking through binoculars. Not to mention the other gear all over them

I’ll probably get roasted for this but horses are like people; they like to know where everybody else is and what they are doing. General rule of thumb is that they should stay on the rail (close to the side) and space themselves out comfortably. In this case, one person was running around the middle of the ring - so the other horses really didn’t know 1. What would happen next and 2. Where they should be. IMHO, the horse in the middle spooked the one who ran and crashed, even tho we didn’t get a good look at it.

Jean Rohde So right. There was plenty of room and no need for that woman to be anywhere other than on the rail. The judge will see your horse and no one gets spooked or run over.

Yeah, the idiot id the middle that had ZERO CONTROL of her horse was amping all the other horses up. Horses are herd animals, so when they see one running, they think that there is a reason to run. Idiot in white came out at almost a canter, almost got in a wreck, and never gained control of her horse; causing everyone else to have to work twice as hard to control their horses. I despise people like this. Check my channel for how I ride my horse.

@Lost Hero You are a fucking idiot. I drive a truck and ride a horse. I NEVER will go to one of these stupid ass shows because they serve absolutely no purpose. My "Fake Cowboy" friends and I actually use our horses for productive means like, herding, branding, and bringing cows to slaughter. We also participate in Search & Rescue for the Sheriff's Department as a part of the Mounted Posse. When somebody's horse or cow or donkey or camel or bison is running towards the freeway; it's not a lazy fuck in a cart chasing them down, it's us "Fake Cowboys" that rope that animal and get it home safely while preventing some poor 16 year old girl from dying because she crashed into a loose animal.

Jean Rohde no, NONE of these horses can see anything than what we would see through binoculars. They have blinkers or blocks on that block more than half their sight, they can’t see a single thing on the sides of them, they were either going off how they were steered and their hearing from what is next to and behind them. It’s so god damn stupid. I have horses and experience in carriage and harness so I know the gear. It’s all dumb crap.

All these people talking about how they seem to always be spooked. Something happened to that horse that made it do that. They don’t just act like that all the time. Now GAITED horses (big lick TWH), that is something that happens in at least one class every show, but this happens once every show season at the most with saddlebreds. Usually it won’t even happen once in 5+ years.

No it doesn't so stop spreading false things. This happen because the driving line broke. Also this shows your intelligence. This is a actually happen at the NYS Morgan Regional Horse Show in Syracuse,NY and yes I was there when it actually happen. So go pound sand about your TWH Big Licks. If you all didn't go stupid with your soaring and the multiple pads and the chains and rollers. We would be fight the federal government over any kind of shoes now.
