Hmmm... So that was pretty romantic for me, I know it has deeper meaning, like living alone, witnessing your family die, but the last shot gave me 🦋🦋🦋. I think I need to see a therapist now, maybe the same therapist Vance went to? I currently have stage 4 colon cancer. I was diagnosed neaely 2 yrs ago, Nov 21, 2022. I can't believe I'm sitting here commenting on this vid, that just happened to pop up in my recommendations. I've been thru A LOT but I'm still here. Thank you God! I have to be honest, if there was a vampire that could give me eternal life...I'd think long and hard about it 😂 The writer said he based this on his own cancer diagnosis. I hope he his doing well + is cancer free ✌️💙

I enjoyed how having known vampires in the world was acceptable. The main character appears to be a caring vampire. This short film was creative!

Oh sick! Ya we got picked up to be made into a feature (maybe a TV show) from showcreator Michael Hirst, he created the Vikings series. So we're def stoked on that.

So far a good film always been a fan of certain vampires.

It's not having an end that makes life meanful. It's the people you love that will eventually bring meaning to your life/end.❤ love this short

How touching! The sound was a bit hard to hear at the end but the message was clear. The shot of the TV monkey was very horrific. My father had dementia, made me feel sad for Vance as he saw the deterioration up close and personal. And he was out on a date when his brother died, perhaps trying to watch tv or to eat. I wondered about Vance's guilt and him not being there for his brother when he needed him. The love interest...I think Vance should steer clear of her and not bite her. She came off as too self-involved and projected what she wanted onto poor Vance w/o listening to him, for me.

I have just one comment for the entire cast and production "Beautifully made".

Love this! Great show. So original. A funky vampire movie. Gosh I miss the seventies too!

I love the credit scroll you had here. I also really loved the theme of loss. Vance feels like he lost purpose in life having no way to age and grow old and pass naturally. He also has had to watch everyone close to him leave him behind. I felt that pain when he explained he was watching his baby brother slowly deteriorate from dementia.

Oh I'm glad that resonated for you. It was definitely a small part of a much MUCH larger theme that we'd had the chance to explore in the feature film version of this concept. Glad you were able to connect to it.

@@dakotadaulby94 The fact that you made it his baby brother also hits harder in the feels. "Baby brother" conjures images of a small child. It completely contrasts with the visual of this old man struggling to even feed himself Vance as the older brother was also no doubt told to be his brother's keeper and we see he's kept that true right up until the inevitable.

It's not bad or good; it's a short film. It took me two views to understand the premise of the film. The girl, in the end, needed to have a backstory, although we figured out that she wanted to be a vampire. Vance wants to die but finds meaning with a human? OK, I can buy that. I think this could be a series; it has so much potential, and I love the short scene takes.

I would definitely watch a full-length feature film with this concept, just saying ♥️. As someone who had cancer just over five years ago (and is cancer-free for now 🤞🏼), I related to this hardcore. In my personal experience, death doesn't give my life meaning, but it does give everything a sense of urgency. There have been times I've wanted to die to get away from life, and times I was scared to die because I didn't want to live an unfulfilled life. Given the chance to become immortal, I'd have to think long and hard about it. We humans have a very strange relationship with death and our keen awareness of it and what it means for us and I think this short does an excellent job of portraying that (and I'd love to see more).

I always watch Alter horrors when they come up in my feed, because almost never they are horror. I love theme, they are creative and deeply emotional.

This is a really fresh take on the vampire theme. I loved it!

@@IAmPhoenix85 we got no power and no water when that little almost F1 tornado touchdown nearby took out the power and trees out of the ground and something which causes the lines to break from the water but then Tuesday and Wednesday and then last night again severe weather came by and it put all the power repairs behind even further LOL so now they're saying we might get it back buy next Tuesday or Wednesday LOL. You can imagine I smell pretty right cuz I've been fishing in the creeks and ponds around my house every chance I get when it's not raining for 30 minutes so I stink pretty bad LOL

It's a love story

As usual we ignore the fact that vampires are usually much older than their companions. If Vance was around50 he should fund companions around that age. This commentary is not talked Bout often enough.

Sad ending

Not bad. The ending seemed a bit too abrupt to me, though. Taking a little more time would have enriched the emotional payload the filmmakers had obviously intended.

This reminds me of Warm Bodies but instead of zombies it's vampires and has a little bit of Day Breakers thrown in minus the super violence two thumbs up plus my two big toes which gives it four up

Different. A little too undramatic for my taste. Needed more direct struggle of some sort. Still best wishes for it on the circuit. Keep striving, keep growing.

I think many horror shorts are better than feature length films. And you do not waste 2-2.5 hours on a bad film that disappoints, makes no sense, is silly, or formulaic.
