Ойын-сауық
Join us on Expedition Haunts as we look at the history of the Howl-O-Scream event. Including a full overview of the brand new first-ever Howl-O-Scream Orlando located at SeaWorld. This inaugural event includes 4 haunted houses, 4 scarezones and 2 shows as well as multiple themed bar experiences.
Special thank you to SeaWorld Orlando for inviting us to the opening night of the event and allowing us to film inside the houses.

A necklace that grants you "protection" in scare zones? That's a pretty darn great idea! Honestly, I hope some other parks pick up on this - may make events like Howl-O-Scream and HHN more appetizing for those who just want to check it out without engaging in the horror element outside of the houses. Particularly those like me - I'm a certified coward when it comes to horror. Additional good idea on display here - essentially placing one of those pay-to-spray kiosks you see at water rides, but repurposing it to horror? That's great, and I'd personally say that there's quite a few who would get a good kick out of that.

I know that CGA had a "no boo" necklace with a similar gimmick a couple years ago. Hopefully more parks adapt this thing since it's a really smart idea!

I think it's great too! Every time I watch these videos I think how amazing everything looks but I am not a fan of being scared so I've resigned myself to never going to Florida in September and October. But to be able to walk through and see the shows, visit the bars, and take in the story? That would be great!

They have the opposite at the Philadelphia penitentiary. A glow stick around your neck means the actors are allowed to touch you and lead you down alternate paths
16:34 Looks like Captain Jack got lost on his way to the Magic Kingdom down the street. Seriously though, that Pirate scare zone looks stunning with all the fog. Excited to attend the Williamsburg event this year! Always love your Halloween content.

The scariest part lol
Okay, it’s one thing for Universal to put more effort in their Halloween event than Disney, but now SeaWorld? What a weird timeline I’m living in. LONG LIVE SPACK JARROW!!
Scare zone and haunted house actors are so underrated, they do their acts over hundreds of times and still sell it. Thanks for the frights.
The way I had to pause and run to the comments while wheezing out "DID THAT SCARE ACTOR JUST SAY 'WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR CAR'S EXTENDED WARRANTY'????"
Ok, but that bayou witch scare actor at 14:12 was awesome. There's something absolutely thrilling about a scare actor that REALLY gets into character.

I think I’m gonna wait and give it a year to see how it grows. I’ve never been to Sea World Orlando, so the fact that just one of the roller coasters is open is a real dealbreaker for me. I don’t really need four bars, even if they are themed.
I laughed out loud when the guy said "I've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty."

Hollywood? Is that somewhere here in Flordia as well? I just moved down here and really want to check out all the parks and stuff down here.
I went on Saturday. It's a good start for this event and I can't wait to see it grow. They have a lot of "lessons learned" to go thru, especially the layout having dead ends. I think Siren's Song should've been at the entrance as a beginning show as the event started and then ran there as more people came in thru the night. Dead Vines was my favorite house, they did a lot of theming and it looked great. The ongoing joke was you couldn't find a bottle of water, but everywhere you turned someone was yelling, "Jell-O shots!" and willing to squirt one down your throat from a plastic syringe.
I’m from San Antonio, and I remember when Howl-O-Scream first started here. Only went once when I was a kid, and then SeaWorld just became too expensive to visit. Bought a Season Pass last year and then Covid happened. Hyped as hell to go this year to see how it differs from Fiesta Texas.
I really like how they tied more or less everything in to the main theme of the event. One thing that started irritating me about HHN was how they would shoehorn unrelated (read: freakin walking dead) content into what was otherwise a strong event. A unified theme really makes the whole thing just that much more entertaining as an experience.
@maxsommers6843

I agree, the narrative running through the whole thing really helped make it feel more immersive.

@adamshows1142

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking about for a while now. I think that is what seems to be lacking at HHN nowadays. What started out as a really immersive, unified-themed event turned into a dump for intellectual properties for the sake of selling movie tickets or DVDs or even artists’ music albums. I believe an overall story-driven theme is what haunts *should* be doing.
Really love what I've seen from Howl-O-Scream Orlando so far! The scare zones and actors commit so well to their theme, and with the theming taking over the bars too makes it even more immersive. What a blast!
I LOVE the integration of the masks into the horror spaces and actors, they really amp up the uncanny horror so well!
I say I have to admire their mask, they really made them fit the theme. the ones that look like a face really gives you a wearing someone's skin feel.

WTH is Jack doing at Sea World?! I'm down for it lol
Now _THIS_ is my kind of Halloween horror event.... bar-hopping around haunted houses! 🥂 The necklaces are a _brilliant idea_ since some people want to experience one of these nights but not be on edge for hours.... I love my horror & thrillers but I'm easily startled, so it's super-appealing to me to be able to walk around the park, interact with the actors & enjoy the experience, but pick the venues where I'll be jump-scared. I'd imagine they're great for the actors too, because they know that the people without the necklaces are game for anything! 👻
Broke: Sea World Orlando has Scare Zones now Woke: Night rides on Mako
I honestly hope this does well financially. I would love to see it grow and rival the great scale and horrific qualities brought to the table at its sister park in Tampa
This year’s event was amazing. SeaWorld really went all out with the improvements. I had a blast.
I've only ever been to Knotts scary farm, and one thing I didn't notice until this video is how they usually have music playing in the mazes and in the cue to set the mood, and not hearing any of that in this video really threw me for a loop
they should have pirate ghosts, sea monsters, sharks that are like from jaws, gill man like swamp monsters and yetis
I have a feeling that I Could Finally See An Expedition For Mako And Manta Because Of Hal-o-Scream.
Great vlog Sam. I love the way you present this with history included.
10:40…Jackie looks like she was having a BALL! This actually looks a bit better than even the one at Busch Tampa (btw, just curious…how long will you be in the US this time, Sam? Covering any other events while you’re here?)

I like the ider of being able to have something that prevents the outside actors bothering you.
I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I purchased my tix for $35 last month and am excited to go for my first time. I'm a huge fan for HHN so I'll be looking forward to this Sea world event
For their 1st time i have seaworld did a great job to honest i got way more scares here than Halloween horror nights.
Lol I just got an ad for Sea World's Howl-O-Scream happening here in San Diego! Very odd as I don't know if they've ever done one before, at least not that I know of! Also, can another company use a Disney character like that if they didn't pay to use it? Because I feel Disney might try to sue them for that.
Here in SA, they only do half of the park to keep families there in Sesame Street Harbor. Since this is a separate ticket event, the possibility of a larger layout might be possible.

I work the event! My team and I did the lighting and setup the fog and fire! Sad I missed you I love your videos!
13:10-13:14 I could hear a song from SeaWorld’s competition being sung in the background.
I think the pirate scare zone is my favorite scare zone and Beneath The Ice looks cool as hell
For those of you younger than gen-x and who didn’t grow up in the Tampa Bay Area, ‘Dr Paul Bearer’ was this really creepy looking dude with a glass eyeball who hosted B-horror flicks on Tampa’s local network affiliate on Saturday afternoons. He used to drive around town in a hearse, and would sometimes make special appearances in said vehicle. All I can say was that he used to scare the living crap outta me!!! I remember having to run outta the room whenever he came on television, and plug my ears so I couldn’t hear his croaky voice. Still to this day, thinking of him gives me the chills!
This is so much fun 🤩 I can’t wait to experience it in person next weekend

Hope you and Jackie had fun, I’d love to see you guys go to the UK for Halloween

Was on the fence about the event but you convinced me

so i had that pass but i didn't notice anything. We went a way that could of been skipped in water way inn with bodies hanging in it but i am not sure if that is the normal path or not
I think I like THEIR Jack Sparrow more than Disney's! And I hope the Ripper-show features the songs "Saucy Jack" by Spinal-Tap, and/or "Jamaican Inspector-Man" by Burton Guster! LOL! =)
LETS GOOOO
i like the way they did masks more than universal. seeing only some actors in masks, while face characters didnt wear them, kinda broke the immersion. the way that sea world had masks that look like faces or work with the characters worked way better imo
@BellePullman
2 жыл бұрын
Masks are inherently creepy - not being able to see someone's expression - there seemed some good examples of using that creatively in here! But also some just "we all have to wear masks in public these days" masks which felt a bit... missed opportunity to do more.
@vianjelos
2 жыл бұрын
To me the masks in general take the immersion away and reminds me that we are in the real world with our real world issues. Maybe in the dark they arent noticable tho.
I never thought that Howl-O-Scream would ever come to SeaWorld Orlando due to the close proximity and more space available at Busch Gardens Tampa.

I hope whoever came up with the name Howl-O-Scream got the help they needed.
i went to both hhn and howl o scream orlando this year and honestly- i think i enjoyed howl o scream more there was less going on but that was kind of a good thing? it meant i could actually do everything unlike with hhn. i couldnt do close to everything in hhn and it sucked the scare actors were also a lot more interactive and fun in howl o scream and the houses were just, way better, much more suspenseful and felt like they werent just relying on jumpscares as much
16:37 I smell a lawsuit!
Hey, Expedition Theme Park! Please do the History of Shockwave at Six Flags Great America?
So, uhhhhh, how does the copyright on that Pirates of the Carribean stuff work here?
I worked in the attraction called 13 at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2011
you should do a video on knotts scary farm! it’s my childhood park and im sure it would make an awesome video! you rock🌟✨👽
I’m so excited 😆 that you’re finally back in Florida I cannot wait for Super Enthused and Expedition Theme park Podcast and pretty soon Ice Breaker is gonna open soon just before you know it.
12:09 have you heard about your cars extended warranty?
They were supposed to have 5 Houses when the event started, but they didn't get the permits in on time. It was supposed to be a house for each Siren.
Is seaworld “ borrowing “ Jack Sparrow from Disney or something? I always wonder if copyright from the parks doesn’t effect costumes for halloween
Ok but Atlantis would be the perfect ride for this night. They really missed that opportunity. But I get that it was supposed to be small
They really seem to have stepped up their game. Their houses have great sets, enthusiastic actors, and very nice costuming. The mask integration is great too, and nicely innovative (although I would have liked to have seen the people in black masks have the airbrushed ones too). If there's one deficiency that stood out to me, it's the sound design (or rather the lack thereof) in the houses. I heard a few sound effects, here and there, but they really should deepen their sound design a bit because some of the rooms/areas seem almost dead (and not in a good way) because there seems to be no ambient music or sound aside from what the actors are producing themselves, plus the occasional scare effect.
They probably could have made this event scarier for really cheap by just continually playing Blackfish.
These mazes are all so weirdly quiet. I’ve never seen one where between each room/scare is just awkward silence lol
I hope one day I can visit these American Halloween events. Only been to Halloween Nights Toverland and Fright Nights Walibi
