If a tarantula bites you, it’s “venomous” If you bite the tarantula, it may very well be “poisonous”... and you’d be nuts to try it. 🕷

About 20 years ago I lost my voice and had several other symptoms of something my doctor couldn’t figure out. After going to 3 different specialists it was discovered that I was suffering from mercury poisoning. I had been eating a tuna sandwich everyday for a couple of months. I stopped eating fish all together and after about 6 weeks I regained my voice and the other symptoms went away as well. To this day I avoid eating tuna

My husband were shopping at a jewelry store a few years ago when I asked to see a bracelet. The lady who was waiting on us had been smiling, and now she just started grinning. I didn't know why. She opened the case, reached in, and very gently nudged a BIGASS TARANTULA out of the way so she could get to the bracelet. I shrieked, jumped 5 feet backwards, started crying, and peed just a little bit. 😂😂 I'm terrified of spiders, but never even saw that enormous demon from hell till he moved. After I got a grip on myself, she explained to us that they had been having trouble with people actually reaching over and stealing things out of the cases while a friend distracted the worker. This was their answer, and it hadn't happened a single time since they'd gotten the EIGHT tarantulas... One for each case. Now I know they're not venomous, but they're huge, and they're hairy, and I swear I heard one say my name, so I wasn't about to argue with anything that nice lady was telling me. I got my first diamond bracelet that day, blessed by Rosie the Bigass Tarantula. I still get the creeps remembering all those gigantic spiders guarding all those sparklies.

That’s simultaneously hilarious, and also creepy as all hell for a reason I can’t quite put my finger on...perhaps maybe because when I read your story, I’d just finished watching Hereditary by Ari Aster and am now terrified of the eerie smiles of gray haired ladies. On a side note, being someone who majored in communications, and spent the majority of my adult life working in various positions to increase sales, customer retention, maximizing/minimizing positive/negative social media presence in large wholesale companies as well as small mom and pop shops; I could say the tarantula “guard dog” of jewelry product idea is quite possibly the worst idea for ways to reduce theft. There’s people with legitimate phobias to any kind of bugs, let alone horrifying demon spiders from satan’s lair of diabolical goodies. They were lucky you happened to be a rational, reasonable, mentally stable individual who understood what they were doing was not conceived with malicious intent. I guarantee you there are people out there dreaming of a lawsuit as perfect as this business has set its own trap for to be litigated. There’s people who would sue due to real mental distress from diagnosed phobias, and these are of course not the people I’m referring to as lunatics dreaming of lawsuits. I’m referring to the type of people who show up in court looking like a parody of why the country is always knocked for the ability of one person to sue another for any merit less reason they can come up with, or at least the best one their ambulance chasing lawyer instills in their mind. A payday for all and the death of another small business who’s storefront will go vacant for 1.5 yrs until the entire strip is bought by Walmart and we can all enjoy true corporate love for small American cities and towns begging to be exploited and sucked up of culture and wealth at which time they shut down and find the next jewelry shop keeping merchandise safe with signs reading “merchandise protected by exposure to smallpox victim”

I'm scared of spiders too and I'm a 230 lb bodybuilder. So don't feel bad lol but if I was a jewelry thief I'll be damned if that spider would keep me from grabbing that!!! one time a large wolf spider fell on my head when I was soaking in the bathtub I kicked half the water out of that bathtub before I figured out what was going on. I feel bad because I killed the spider. My girlfriend laughed so hard she couldn't talk for 10 minutes. I got even with her with a rubber tarantula in her makeup case. But what are the odds you're sit there soaking in the bathtub and a spider falls on your head. Honestly if it didn't happen to me I would call b*******

Fun fact for all the pedants out there, tarantulas aren't poisonous at all, but they are venomous. Poison is either swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin while venom is actively injected via a bite or sting. Tarantula venom isn't particularly potent or dangerous but you'd still probably want to avoid it if possible.

David Hovezak I would take 2, they're small. A certain scumbag whose name I will not mention, and will probably never forgive, drove my 2 babies to the middle of innercity Cleveland and set them loose. They were bro and sis, 4 mo old. They were gorgeous, all black but proportioned like Siamese. Mom abandoned them @ 2 weeks and I weaned them on formula. They barely escaped death but made it. She lied to my gf an said I took them somewhere, but her 11 yr old daughter whom she took along for the ride!!! crying, told us the truth. They've never even been outdoors till that time. Maybe this is not the place, but I need fuzzle face in my life. I just hope some kind old lady took them in to pamper..

I registered my vehicle and called my insurance company to get some info; in the course of the conversation I discovered that my chances of a collision with a drunk driver just doubled. As you point out, every other jerkoff is also texting, mainly "youths" who are... hmmm... less than cognitively complex. On top of the Mojave Greens and black widows, hantavirus and the massive, haunting cold case backlog there are corrupt government officials galore. I won't even get into the prevalence of home invasions, heroine, crusty/neohippies or dope growers. Rattlesnakes are actually pleasant, peaceful creatures that (understandably) want to be left alone (I can relate on that score).

Dude I live in Scottsdale, Arizona...not out in nowhere....major streets nearby.....a real nice development with homes all around me with quarter acre lots...so people everywhere 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 I found a 4 foot rattlesnake in my damn kitchen!!!! 🐍 I know we are in the desert so it's a little ways a possibility....but damnnnn my kitchen!!! 😱😳😱😳😱 I had just vacuumed that room, didn't have my glasses on & thought the dogs must have brought one of their toy stuffies in I was hardly paying attention & started to PICK IT UP didn't touch it but leaned down to when I thought it looked like a 🐍 🐍 🐍 I ran out of the room & got all 4 of my dogs into the bedroom closed up....my pit walked right next to it but never saw it 😬 3 small Mexican hairless pups all didn't see it either (I'm beyond grateful they didn't) This little pack is top notch usually too so couldn't believe they hadn't noticed it yet 🐕🐕🐕 My glasses were behind the damm snake so I still wasn't positive it was a snake Then I came back from putting dogs away & it had moved! That f*cker was curled up like in a movie looking at me 🐍 I didn't need glasses for that sh*t & I jumped on top of the counter like Wonder Woman Then jumped across counters to get my cell I called fire dept cause Google said to.... They usually just move the snake over your fence or to a nearby area less than a mile away from where found by law I was told...WHAT? So, we can do this again in an hour...wtf? 🤯 Makes ZERO SENSE all these houses have kids playing in yards & pets! We live in a desert...why not put it them just outside of town? 🤷 Aren't they dangerous I asked him...yes, a hicker got bit last month & died I was told A few dogs this season too he added.... WHAT ARE WE DOING THIS FOR? I called rattlesnake dude for $100 he came & got it I gave him an extra $100 to take it within an inch of that mile as far as he legally can! Also, for him to put my # in his cell & promise to answer if I ever call him! He got there, walked in, saw snake said "oh wow, that's a f'ing rattlesnake I bet 4 feet long I gotta go back to the truck....I thought you were just being a girl & I'd find a garden snake" Did I sound like I didn't know a rattle when it was shakin at me??? 🤯🤯🤯 (sorry so long....was one of my more sureal experiences ever!) Sooooo, yeah Robert you should definitely be concerned about rattlesnakes ! 🐍 😘 🐍

Hi~I am a Flint resident and i wanna say this much about the water...it is this...alot of us were not going to drink or use that Flint river water..that river..omg...has had every toxic thing...ie...GM dumped there, so many dead bodies in there ovr the years and I kid you not...the fish were deformed, three eyes and double finned....no..many, in fact did not and would not ingest such deadly filth...but those who did, they are of the set that believed the scumbags who allowed this mass poisoning..that made a lot of people, the kids really sick and damaged for their lifetime and their generations to follow...a bunch died too..just so sad. Flint became the model for thousands of american cities that were built up new during the boom in the fifties and basically ignored the decomposing infrastructure..no real upgrades for the systems that delivered water to homes and businesses. Yes, they are still replacing pipes and switching out the water plant systems...but, here is the thing...it is just too late given all the damage it caused. Test your own water wherever it is you live...just do it, and then you will know...what you drink, cook with and bath in...ya hear me? Thanks! Kim M.

I grew up in the desert southwest, and the tarantula mating season is sort of neat. I'm not particularly afraid of spiders, so when they came through our ranch we'd just keep an eye out for them like we did for scorpions and snakes. They weren't aggressive and would ride around on your shoulder if you wished. The worst part was driving-- there was no way to avoid them and they would be pretty thick at times. Squashing the poor things made us feel pretty low so we minimized our driving for the short time they were traveling.

Here in West Texas the rattle snakes sometimes won't rattle, because it gives them away to feral hogs that love to eat them. That is just the egg layers. The chickens breeding practice that I find more disturbing is the meat broiler cross breeds. The boiler grow at a truly incredible rate and are killed at 6-8 weeks old (which is basically a chick starting to get adult feathers age - for context a egg laying chicken starts to lay eggs between 6-9 months old). If you keep them to 9 weeks they have a very high likelihood of dropping dead from a heart attack because of obesity so you must cull on time. Since you are eating baby birds they can not breed naturally. The only way to propagate the cross breed is to keep a few males and severely under feed them and prevent them from eating everything in sight, both food and not (I have raise broilers before getting a few chicks at a time from the local feed store that has mail ordered, they are food obsessed in a way that is hard to believe) and then get those birds rooster stuff to fertilize a large meat breed hen so all grocery store chickens are a cross breed because the pure breed is not a viable. I live on a homestead and mostly raise dual meat/egg breeds that are easy to propagate the old fashioned way with a broody hen, but if you compare the broilers to my birds you really see why they were invented, the crosses are just massive and you can see them growing while looking at them while similarly aged birds are a fraction of the size and never get the big breast muscles the crosses are known for and most people think of when they think of a grocery store rotisserie chicken. I can tell you, grocery store chickens are not chickens. They also have no natural instincts left and will not look for bugs, scratch around, or take dust baths - food is literally the only thing they think about. If they are raised in small batches (not 50,000 per barn) I do actually think the crosses can have okay quality of life even with the freakish genetics since they seem active and alert while getting up to size even if the don't act like any other more "normal" breed.

I don't think Simon really understands the cause of the lead problem in Flint and the other American lead hotspots. Its not an issue of lead paint. Its lead used in the plumbing infrastructure, both in the main lines and in the individual buildings. Usually its not an issue if the water is treated with certain chemicals to prevent leaching. Flint became a problem when a decision to change to a cheaper water source (and more importantly, forego the chemical treatments) meant that the new water source resulted in lead leaching into the drinking water. The potential concern is that other cities could be vulnerable to this same leaching. And... maintaining and fixing drinking water infastructure is an issue for state and local governments to maintain, not a duty of the Federal government. Which isn't an issue for economically healthy cities that can afford to maintain their own infastructure. Its problematic for economically poor and struggling towns. Like Flint.

Going to space not only sounds like a really stupid idea but a wasteful one at that. As much as I love looking at the stars and astrology, going into space and or putting anything into space has always been a super stupid thing that we never should have done. The amount of people in the world who are on antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications should show that we have a hard enough time coping with being on Earth, let alone out in space.

You shouldn't really love astrology, i must point out. And you can't stop human curiosity. We have millions of problems worldwide, attributed to international and cultural differences, yet we are able to agree to coexist peacefully in space (ISS, for example). Space exploration has been the most unifying thing in modern history. If in space why not on earth? Why is it stupid to want to know your surroundings? We can't become a species of agoraphobic people desperately hiding from the outside world. If we do we might as well commit mass extinction ourselves right now. Humans have always been explorers, that's one of the key things that separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Most animals just fight for survival so they can procreate, that's the whole of their existence. We, on the other hand, have always been interested in the unknown, whether the highs of the sky, the depths of the ocean or distant continents/islands etc. And space is the most unknown unknown that we know of (ha, funny word play). So it stands to reason that we want to know what's out there whether or not it's for personal gain or loss. We simply have to know. That's why you're watching this video, of which the title is ".. facts you really didn't want to know". If you didn't want to know these facts, you wouldn't have clicked on the video and watched it, you were curious as to what these facts might be.

Little info for those of you who don't know, I took my little boy to get a tarantula and we weren't able to get one because he had only been stung by a bee once. The way you know if you will have a reaction to a tarantula is if you are allergic to bees and react to bee stings then you will have a reaction to a tarantula we were told and the only way to know if you are allergic to bees is to be stung twice! You won't react from the first sting you have, only the second sting will tell you for certain if you have an allergy.

Go catch a honey bee (slowly envelope one with your hand while it is on a bloom, but make sure you don't leave any spaces where your fingers close because it does not need much space to crawl out and fly away). Then try to induce it to sting your boy. This is the hard part because they are not aggressive at all unless you are near the hive. Maybe smear some honey on him??? I don't really know. I only got stung a few times on the bottom of my foot as a kid because sometimes I would unwittingly stand on one in the spring while it was on some low lying white clover which was very plentiful where I lived. A solitary bee sting hardly hurts at all, nothing like a yellow jacket sting which is very painful, so if you could not get the bee to sting your child any other way, you could have him stand on the bee, although not enough to crush it of course, just to make it alarmed but still mobile enough to sting. Bees die after they sting someone, which may be why they are so unaggressive.

If you can't afford to fix your pet, you obviously are not in a position to have one. There are literally hundreds of low cost spay and neuter clinics in the US.
