Just like these cases there were many cruel things happened in previous times as well. And another thing let's say I take that this generation is worst then which generation's faults is it actually? First one must be mature, understanding, kind, financially stable and only then they should marry and children comes after that. Anyways my opinion is every generation is same there are those individuals that get good parenting and education and become mature and some are left in the dark. So blaming this saying such words is actually negative as many people will start developing a bad mindset and trauma of others, the trust will vanish if we spread the blame, so blame only those individuals who commits such crimes not the whole generation.

Isliye friendship se zyada apne kaam par focus karo college life mein. Friends to school life ke best hote hain, college life mein matlabi friends hi zyada milenge or kabhi bhi kisiko apna rival mat bana dena if you know he has a gang. Be street smart but yes agar kisine tumhe apna target bana liya hain then don't fear. Authorities, Mentor, etc ko complain kar dena. This is so true. This happens with a lot of the students ( male ones). My elder sibling is a student in one of the top 7 IITs ( take a hint from this video to know which one) and this happens on the students' birthdays. The student's batchmates and friends get him cake and stuff and then beat him. At first, when he was getting admission into IIT he heard of this "tradition" from some seniors. But we thought this was probably his seniors' idea of a "welcome to IIT" joke. But then, my brother witnessed this and he even got a video of his batchmate getting beaten up by his friends and other batchmates which he sent to us. I don't get what's so enjoyable about beating someone on their b'day and neither does my brother and it's not as if their seniors beat them or force them to keep this tradition going, it's the batchmates who decide to do such a thing. What's even more disheartening is that these people are some of the brightest minds of the country and yet, they take part in such a "tradition". Such a sadistic "tradition".

Bhaiya what I feel is even after coming in IIT it's better to focus on studies rather than doing these stuffs. Fun is always good but no matter how much we age we never can understand what is the limit to that fun because it is giving us short term happiness. Rather focusing on studies will atleast give a proper life in the future which fun will never give. If someone is stressed out, they can watch a movie or play games, talk to parents or read a fictional book. That will take away lot of stress. Things like GPL is toxic no matter what. Beating someone can never be fun. Our body have so many vital organs. Even a small injury may turn deadly. And people may not agree but good friends are very limited and most are snakes. So its better to keep interaction between friends on a surface level rather taking those seriously. Ultimately all are there to build their future and competition is high. Competition can drive anyone crazy so a so called friend can betray anytime. Edit 1 : I am never saying that making friends is useless. I said that getting good friends is difficult and most are only wanting to take advantage of you. Make friends, set boundaries and that's all what is needed. Don't get so much involved in friendship which ultimately harms you.

When you're in a Highly Reputed Institute like the IITs, it's a very good opportunity to build connections. You never know which connections would save you in the future. Since the students there are all people who are willing to work hard, there is a high chance that some of them would end up in high posts.

@@Gotouchsomegrass-bs9nu Well you are correct too. But I still think there should be boundaries. Building connections is important but there is healthy ways to do so. I don't get why GPL and other stuff is promoted for building connections. Connections can be built over a cup of tea, treats or doing meaningful activities together like taking part in competitions or doing a project together. In IIT Kgp there is a thing called AP which is actually just ragging(don't know about other iits). Last year a student died(you may know) due to the so called AP and now also there has reportedly been complaints on ragging. Now if someone is complaining definitely the person is not comfortable in all these things. Instead of helping them their future is getting destroyed. Meaningful connections should have respect for each other. I should be inspired by my seniors or my batchmates. I should be able to guide my juniors in correct way. Those are good connections. But in reality there are actually very few cases of such things. One will be very lucky and blessed to have these things in life but not all get it.

Thts why i avpid making too many frnds , my frnds are okay upto a limit , i never let anyone cross my privacy level , when they mock me out of fun , i allow till some point then i directly tell them they are crossing their limits which i absolutely hate... i dont like people taking me too much lightly .. fun is alright but going against wht i like is disgusting... and no frnd is special for me , other than my family members no one gets the right to joke around me so much

Can't believe such intelligent people who cleared jee advance are engaged in such things. Birthday celebrations are good but aisi jaanwaro wali harkatein is not celebration at all! Imagine the guy having birthday and so brutally beaten up can't even stand and walk. This incident could've been more than just a fracture and what if something major had happened? So toxic.

So disgusting.... To be honest I haven't beaten anyone on their birthday as people give so called birthday bombs because why to make someones birthday as their worst day of the year but I always get beaten by my group of friends so badly but I am lucky that I didn't get anything serious like that boy..... Bhaiya my question is how can we tackle these things while growing up and specially when we enter IIT where your bestfriend also beats you on your birthday and at the end thanks bhaiya for raising this important point because there are some people who don't get affected by physical beating but some students like me take them on heart

A similar incident happened in our college also. There was a student who had undergone a serious operation a few months ago. He was ragged on his birthday. He was beaten a lot. Then the principal of college came and stopped them. But his condition worsened so much that he had to be admitted in emergency to the hospital

Been there in an IIT. Even in Mtech pods, people do these kind of stupid stuff. Na kabhi kisike Bday me gaya na kisiko samne aa ne dia. 2-3 close friends ke sath resturant me jake Bday banane ka ghamand hi alag hai mera :)

I have seen a birthday prank where the friends of that birthday boy literally made him cry and also hurt him with painful words and then they laughed like lunatics and wished happy birthday. Maybe people will call me dramatic but these kinds of people are just so evil. How can you hurt someone specially on their birthday. It's inhumane and absolutely unacceptable.

This is purely abuse. Birthday is meant to be celebrated not ruined by immature students. 😢

I have received this type of birthday surprise in BHU, ngl it was painful but I won't complain because we wait for the other guys birthday for revenge lol.. but we should not get carried away with this thing, thatshhhit really hurts for few days.

Same occurrence also happened with Abrar Fahad ...who was a student of Buet 😢 He died in 2019 ...He was murdered by his friends 😢

Recently a Jadavpur University incident happened in the name of introduction to a 17 year old boy who is no more. He was forced to give his introduction to seniors multiple times and many other things happened with him which was not at all acceptable. Students goes to these institutions to make their dream come true and it turns out to b the worst nightmare.

Sadism in the name of celebration is absolutely not okay.

In my state, people call it Birthday bomb. When i was in 12th, i had recieved this birthday bomb on my birthday, even though i wasn't involved in any of my friends gpl. I recieved permanent injury in my lower right back. Till date I've done many therapy and even bought Automatic Thermal massage bed, but still sometimes my back pain triggers. So in college i never made any friends and avoided every parties, farewells, everything. Large friend circle comes at it's cost.

It happens even in Delhi University. I was in my first year of college when I first saw such kind of birthday celebration. They were hitting the back of the birthday boy with their bare hands and also as hard as they can. The impact of such playing beating can seriously cause irreparable damage.
