Hornets Vs Wasps || ViralHog

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Occurred on June 9, 2005 / Dohr, Eifel-Mountains, Germany
"All my life I have dealt with animals, which finally led to my passion as a nature filmmaker and nature photographer. I know the behavior of the animals, how and where they live. During the last summer I dealt extensively with the cinematic documentation of the social wasps. The pictures were taken in my own garden in the Eifel in Germany. I was able to capture many interesting behaviors in the video: hornets hunt wasps to feed their brood. Yellow jackets and paper wasp fight each other. The animals in the body care and in slow motion in daring flight maneuvers. Like all other species, they function in the most complex ecosystems and are important links in a fabric of hundreds of thousands of species and dependencies. While we believe that we need to regulate it aggressively, we have consistently and consistently demonstrated that we are not capable of understanding these nested systems."

    Waps are assholes. Hornets are fine. They look more intimidating but they are more peacefull. I have never experienced a Hornet that would bother you while eating and trying to get your food which is what wasps do during autumn. They sure looks scary but are in fact gentle if you dont mess with them of course. + as you can see they hunt wasps for food so extra points for them LOL

    Protection?:D European wasps are peaceful, no needs for any kind of protection. And this guy was also respectful to them and did stay 1 metre away. I think that literally no wasp would attack just cuz you're 1 metre close to it. Also, don't forget that this is a Feeder, so the wasps may have been collecting food from there for days. So, they've got used to the man probably, in that case you can even feed them on hand, no problem. I also have wasp feeders, that's why I know.

    I wonder how many people don't know that hornets are wasps. If someone doesn't understand yet, genus Vespa (hornets) belongs to the same family as Vespula (wasps). These are social wasps both, and there isn't any big difference between wasps and hornets except for their size.

    A good demonstration of the power of sheer size and aggression in the arthropod world. Ants may be the exception since they work together in a way that other social insects do not in fights, but even they are subject to this. A large wasp with giant mandibles is too formidable a threat for other insects, even with large numbers.
