Unnecessary expense - unless you can decipher if it is the main board or the screen. From my experience, it is almost always the screen. It's even worst with the newer TV's as the flexible screen boards (links) are hardwired to the screen, so it's a throwaway, regardless. You should mention that when removing the flexible boards from the connectors that it is a good idea to spray the connectors with CRC226 or even use WD40. It helps to ensure a better contact and eliminates the possibility of corrosion in the connectors.

Did you check main power supply voltage. Especially Vs

Any chance you have a video attempting to or correcting vertical lines? I have the same TV, but can’t figure out which item corrects vertical black lines.

I dont know if it works all cases but I fix problems on 2 samsung TVs with problems on screen. Horizontal lines and flickering.....

Ultimately, I was unsuccessful in this repair. In fact, I lost the entire left half of the picture and had to wiggle connections to get it back. I still have the lines. The problem is most likely in one of the circuit boards and I will need a schematic to trace that out. Worth trying though.

It wasn't the board or screen. It was the ribbon themselves. They have to be removed from the screen and either really glued down or replaced. You should have turned on the TV then looked at it while at the same time gently press or move the first ribbon to see if the lines disappear. Try it again if you still have it.

Damn glued ribbon cables. I hate those. Somehow its a lot cheaper for a company to glue them instead to solder them, and the problem isn't on this side of the tv, but inside the LCD screen itself. The heat from CFL bulbs makes the bad glue melt and get loose. Plus connectors cost money and are in a way of making a screen thinner. Why does everything have to be slim?

I have had tvs with horizontal lines and I'd clean the ribbon cables on the buffer board and it would work no more lines but not always ! it's a gamble ...

You should've cleaned the ribbon cable contacts before buying a replacement board. 90% of the time is something ridiculously simple like that. So many missed steps to diagnose this. It's also comical that you are talking about it not coming protected from static then you work on the tv flat on the carpet.
