Psilocybin saved my life . I was addicted to heroin for 15 years and after Psilocybin treatment I will be 3 years clean in September . I have zero cravings . This is something that truly needs to be more broadly used in addiction treatment .

I went to the library and read on dysth. For the first time. It was like reading my autobiography. I wished I didn't go tru the mayor depression to find out what I had. It was bad. But I guess it was meant To be that way. Oh and i can fall into a mayor depression again. But since I know what I have, l'm trying To take control of my actions, of my life. I'm right there with you! Rick Simpson is another hero of mine :) I'm also a cancer survivor who practically lived on oyster mushrooms. Unfortunately they're really hard to get and expensive when you do (smh). The oncologist threw me out of his office after I refused chemo, radiation and another mammogram involving shoving wires in me while in "the vice." I said "hey, why not just throw me in an Iron Maiden and call it a day." lol The rest is history.

Whilst our culture is certainly not always to blame, I find it absurd that instead of learning from people who are classified as mentally ill and thereby changing society to avoid making them ill, we continue to support a socio-economic system built on cooperative abuse and exploitation, resulting in the adverse consequences for millions of people. In the 1980s the Campaign against Psychiatric Oppression (CAPO) met for regular music and poetry meetings in the Troubadour Café, London, to express their response to how people had been treated. I hope this video reflects progress.

Something I've noticed- people who aren't so nice tend to dislike the mushroom experience.

Just speaking from personal experience, friends and acquaintances I know who are always irritable easily angered and are generally closed minded will say things like "yes, I tried those once and I'll never do it again"

that last statement is so true

My first trip was nice, made me feel like "Ah, here I am" like i havent felt truly like myself in years. The second time I took 7 grams and was tormented lol its like the mushrooms skipped the visulas and decided they werent going to entertain me, that I must be punished. Spent 4 hours in my bed feeling utterly hopeless. It kept telling me that I was a bad person and that everyone that I've ever encountered was better off never having met me. I kept fighting the thoughts telling it no, i won't do that. It got so unbearable that I gave into the mushroom in the way I was letting go, thinking it'd ease up. I was sorely mistaken, it tightened it's grip, I was so grateful when it finally loosened up. I now fear and respect the mushroom.

Even his language in this speech is clearly starting to be politicized, no substance to certain points but it has a subconscious political correctness. Russia? Women? Mycelium is not a compound, it's the fungal "body", made mostly of chitin an water and containing many different compounds that varies from species to species. Paul Stamets wrote many books on mushrooms, with most containing at least some information the interesting compounds found in different species. Lion's mane and reishi are good starters.

My good friend Juan had never tripped and one day he asked me if I would trip with him and I agreed he handed me two chocolates that were filled with shrooms and said ok I ate mine it's your turn and I ate them and he started laughing and said that he gave me both doses and he was too chicken to take his. Then I explained that he was responsible for me this night and quite seriously I better have a good time . Had a great night. We tripped together later. But yes there is a responsibility.

I read that its best to take time off it for a month or so to let your tolerance fade again

And it seems impossible to get help with this since it is still illegal in most states. For those of us who have been suffering from multiple TBI’s CPTSD Resistant depression and constant suicidal thoughts. It appears just the rich and well protected can get these treatments. I can’t even get on a study because of co moralities So sad .

Possibly consider growing your own psychedelic fungi. It’s really not difficult at all. Look into Uncle Ben’s TEK if you think that would be a route you’d want to take. I’m sure that you could possibly even find a resource online for a trip “guide” so to speak if you’re uncomfortable or unfamiliar with doing psychedelics alone. Best of luck to you!

I'm in a similar situation with CPTSD, along with autism which results in similar processing deficits as a TBI. I had a life-changing / life-saving mushroom trip and I'm definitely NOT in a privileged economic class and didn't get guided therapy, but it was still enormously therapeutic. Here's my advice to do it safely in the best way if you have the mushrooms (growing your own being a real option). 1. Get a trusted friend or loved one to act as a trip-sitter, someone who won't OVER react to your behavior on the drug, and will give you space to experience what you experience and only intervene if you make it extremely clear you NEED help. 2. Go into the experience with CURIOSITY and INTENT, Paying attention to set and setting. Approach the drug with curiosity instead of fear. Have an invention of which mental blockages you want to process. Psilocybin is a very safe drug given you take it responsibly, and it's entirely possible to get enormous benefit without the barrier of a guided therapist. Just take precautions and have intent, and it can be life-saving. I hope you're able to overcome the obstacles and have this experience.

Years ago I tried growing some when there not alot of positive info out there but I read all of the Siberian shamanic documentation....didn't do it alone I we did not micro dose... I was on heroin, that didn't help heroin addiction.. iboga is much better.. benzos are the problem now this is thirty years later....its very muddy and grungy visually... I some odd predilection for soil and earthworms on it... dune might have been aggregated into a cultural narrative at the time....I was only looking through burroughs literature on exfiltration from heroin dependency when heroin was still heroin...
