- PS5 resolution mode applies temporal injection over 2160p (something similar to what we saw in Spider-Man: Miles Morales), achieving greater sharpness and no aliasing.
- PS5 FPS mode reaches 1800p resolution, but the difference seems bigger due to the technique mentioned above.
- The overall geometry on PS5 is taller. This can be easily seen on rocks or trees. This explains the larger size of the PS5 version, among other things.
- There is a higher density of vegetation on PS5 in some areas. However, in this sequel, Aloy interacts with all vegetation on both platforms.
- The general quality of the texturing is better on PS5, although there is not a big difference in this aspect.

It's dynamic checkerboard 1800p in performance mode on ps5 not native 1800p which you fail to mention

The console is 9 years old and they managed to run it on that, that's insane, that too with so much detail and it manages to run well at constant 30 fps. But we'll have to see how it handles in heavy combat situations.

@@mr.fabulous8603 In Zero Dawn, heavy combat escenarios drop the FPS to around 24 or so but when thing really get hectic, like many enemies, explosions and focus use all at the same time. Decima is pretty fine and very escalable it seems.

Creo que ahora sí se puede decir que este es el techo gráfico de PS4. Es sorprendente hasta dónde han podido exprimir un hardware tan limitado. Cada año parecía difícil superarse. Desde Uncharted 4 hasta TLOU 2, y ahora este HFW.

I had to pause at that part literally because I saw peach fuzz on her face! 🤣 talk about attention to detail. Very high poly count as well, it's a pretty noticeable difference between last gen and current gen. Last gen actually looks pretty good too. This being a cross gen game, I'm glad it didn't take a hit like most other cross gen games did. Maybe because it is a Playstation (platform) exclusive.

@@diegofalcon6895 Yo no he podido comprar uno, y veo muy difícil por el problema del stock (dado que no pienso pagar los 1,400 usd que actualmente cuesta por acá (Ecuador). Así que me vine a ver qué tal y la verdad es que creo que si lo voy a comprar y jugar en PS4 pro. El juego vale la pena y se nota una mejora en relación al primero.

It's amazing how well it runs on PS4 considering it's hardware from 2013, you lose some minor cosmetic details but the rest is there for us to enjoy 😃

@@vicho5960 Esto no es CDPR, EA, Activision o Ubisoft. Puede que Sony haga juegos malos por otros motivos (no te gusta la historia, no te gusta el gameplay) pero técnicamente hablando, es muy raro que defraude. Yo hubiese hecho pre compra si tuviese un PS5, así que esperé para ver qué pasaba con la versión del PS4 pro y la verdad es que si está como para comprarlo sin lamentos. Me gustó la primera parte y, al menos por el gameplay, se ve como una pro compra sin mayor problema.

@@vicho5960 A ver a cada uno le gusta un juego o una saga, unos reservan FIFA otros como yo horizon. Yo por ejemplo no reservaría un FIFA, de echo siempre me espero a que bajen de precio. La ventaja de reservar es que yo ya lo tengo descargado e instalado y el viernes podre jugarlo sin tener que esperar a que se descarguen casi 100GB de juego y se que es un juego que voy a acabar comprando, me da lo mismo reservarlo una semana antes y ir descargándolo que comprarlo después y esperar a que se descargue

The patch that was released today seems to have made the blurriness of the performance mode much less severe and games only been out a week so good chance will get optimised even more

On performance mode I like the blurry picture and the color changing objects when i move arround. The performance is so good on resolution modus. It feels so smooth with 20 fps. And the double filmgrain and noise in the picture is the best i have ever seen. Breathtaking!
Creo que el juegue Horizont Forbiden West en cualquiera de las 4 opciones, va a disfrutarlo mucho. Es un paisaje hecho videojuego. En mi caso me ha convencido más la versión 60 FPS Mode para Play Station 5, que lo juegaré esta misma semana 😃🎮🏆
Que sorpresa que personalmente prefieras el modo resolución, llevo fatal el tolerar los 30fps, más aún en juegos con tanta calidad en las animaciones, pero tendré que probar tu elección.

Se ve que es para apreciar la calidad grafica y debe ser la mejor version que se note la diferencia con las otras consolas. Yo tambien soy de usar las opciones de rendimiento a 60 fps. Pero en este caso si tenes una tele 4k que te interpole a 60 fps, obvio que no van a ser reales, pero lo vas a ver mas fluido que a 30 fps y poder apreciar mas visualmente. Aunque te de mas input lag. Esa es mi idea de probar este juego

Si mira entiendo que este juego corre muy exigente pero los 30 FPS almenos son fluidos pero en modo de FPS la resolucion baja lo cual quita el 4k y pone 1800p a 60 FPS pero aun asi se ve bien el juego en los dos modos de PS5

Se agradece mucho este video comparativo, no me lo pensaba comprar para la ps4 pro pero este video me convencio. No tengo pensado comprar la ps5 aun y en Steam me imagino que en unos 3 años mas saldra. Los tiempos de cargar en la ps4 pro fueron con un disco duro mecanico ???, yo tengo un SSD en la ps4 pro, espero que vaya mas rapido. Saludos !
when does the physical copy come out? I'm asking this because I see gameplay almost just about everywhere and it's a little upsetting because even though I'm not trying to look at it my eyes can catch the gist of what's going on in the game and it kind of ruins the experience for me because I purchased the digital copy but can't play it until Friday.

En PS5 el juego es simplemente espectacular. El trabajo de ps4 y ps4 pro también son muy buenos, en ambas versiones se ve increíble.
I have an ssd sata on my ps4 pro. Charging times never last more than 20/30 seconds. For that image quality it's amazing!

Oh wow even though the performance mode on Ps5 is 1800p there's alot more differences with the resolution mode than I thought, it's almost blurry in comparison. Reminds me of avengers on ps5. Might be hard to decide on how to play.
I would definitely go for quality mode at first and just enjoy the visual glory this game offers. Then once I've seen everything, I'll switch to 60fps.

Tenía mis dudas frente a cuantas diferencias habría entre ps4 y ps5, para buena sorpresa hay bastantes y llegan a ser bastante notorias, el agua y las físicas se ven muy bien, la niebla de fondo siento que le da un aspecto muy espectacular, no llega a ser molesto el juego se ve simplemente increíble, y también es increíble lo sólido que mantiene esos 60fps

Can't wait for it to come to PC, I'm playing fps mode on a 1080p tv with my ps5 and from time to time there are some dips in frame rate and micro stutters which are still noticeble, hope they can patch it soon
This is totally brutal what they've got from such old hardware. Most game studios should sit down and put the hats off

Call me stupid,but I am NOT impressed by the jump. Yes it looks better, but not as much as you and some claim. What is drastically better however are particle effects on Playstation 5

@@GameslordXY different opinions. I am very impressed because not only did they improve textures, add more details and hair/fuzz but they also added a permanent lighting technique that just makes her look GOOD and emphasizes on her features in any lighting.

Re the shadows comparison, looks to me HFW is optimized for PS4 pro. This makes sense given the dev cycle. Few PS5 machines around during most of their dev cycle.

@@miriammasegosa9483 claro la palabra fat se les denomina a los primeros modelos de la consolas, la ps4 fat tiene la misma potencia que la ps4 slim ya que la ps4 slim solamente es mas pequeña y tiene mejor ventilación...
I suppose loading times are taken from a standard ps4 pro? Replaced my ps4 disk with an ssd, loading times reduced drastically.

Honestly, the 60 fps mode looks like the better option. Though I'm sure if the game was made from the ground up for the ps5, they could optimize it to run at a higher res.

PS5 Performance mode resolution looks slightly lower than PS4 Pro wondering if it's dynamic 4k at 60fps
Amazing. The main difference looks like its particle effects and mossed surfaces. Everything else is close enough between the platforms. Great game.

I got the ps5 version and definitely will play it on performance mode. I can sacrifice some particles for better frame rate. I just couldn’t play it on 30fps because my brain would hurt lol

To be honest, the performance mode doesn't really sacrifice much of anything, and that surprises me a lot. Resolution only drops down from 4k to 3k to gain a whopping 30fps, and the fidelity takes less than a negligible drop, seemingly only in particles. I am amazed at how well they optimized this game.

This game was developed for the majority of its formative design period on the PS4 using techniques already used in HZD. They know their trade 🥰 The only 2 real differences that I can see is in the load and fast travel times which obviously will be vastly improved with a game engine optimized for the fast SSD technologies used in the PS5. The only other obvious optical difference is the particle abundance in the PS5 version. Well done Guerrilla🤗 this is going to be a great experience‼️

Why didn't you show anything underwater? That's one of the things I wanted to see the most
I'll be honest, I really didn't expect the game to have such a big jump in quality compared to the first game even more because it's a cross-gen game, I'd even say it's one of the most beautiful games currently and it's even more impressive that they managed to optimize it to run on 2013 hardware, I didn't expect the PS4 to be able to do 1080p in this game, the developers are to be congratulated, they did an excellent job.

Lo estoy jugando todavia en ps5 desde que se lanzo, solo que no cuento con mucho tiempo por eso no consigo terminarlo. Pero cada avance que doy impresiona con los tremendos graficos, es una locura. Felicitaciones a los que tienen ps4 todavia por que la verdad no hay mucha diferencia con ps5, ah disfrutarlo con todo!!
Ps5 vs Ps4 Pro, few things missing from the graphic like the grass the red and green smoke. PS4 Pro still looks awesome, I haven't got the PS5 yet.

Yeah you can notice there are other assets missing from the last gen version as well, like parts of the geometry, foliage, parts of constructs. Character models aren't as refined either if you look closely at Aloy's face. The character lighting is entirely different as well. Last gen is still pretty impressive though!

Very cool that they're 'borrowing' Insomniac's Temporal Injection from Miles Morales/Rift Apart. It's super clean, smooth AA, ultra crisp up close and distant rendering.

Me sorprende que no haya RayTracing porque las sombras en PS5 tienen tooooda la pinta de serlo. En el 10:18 se aprecia como las sombras mas lejanas son menos duras que las de Aloy y eso me había olido a RayTracing total. El raytracing no es necesario cuando el estudio hizo un gran trabajo de iluminación, el raytracing hace el trabajo solo, mientras algunos estudios optan por hacer el trabajo manualmente.

Probablemente el Ray tracing lo metan en un parche después , pero a un así en modo resolución este juego se ve brutal
Basically, all versions are indistinguishable to the naked eye. You have to go in with a magnifying glass to discern any differences.
What a beautiful game! I just wanted a 40fps/120 hertz mode like Ratchet on resolution mode! It would look and feel awesome in my monitor.

Maybe they can change the fps from 30 to 40, using HDMI 2.1 like rachet and clank rift of part, or they can do a little optimization so this game can run 3840x2160 And 60 fps on PS 5

From the 60 fps mode I was expecting a checkerboard 4k not a 1800. A 40 fps checkerboard 4k would be good, even though I don't own a 120 hz tv😢. I think I'll stick with the 30 fps.

@@Mareterra76 you won't be able to tell the difference between 3k and 4k unless you have a telescope pressed up against your 75" OLED. Going from 3k 60fps to 4k 30fps is not worth the abysmal frame rate drop, unless you can tolerate it. On top of that, there is almost no noticeable drop in fidelity between either of the modes. For me, I'd say 60fps mode ftw by far.

@@frantz4g63 nop, a 40 inch tv watched from 1 meters is perfect to fill your whole field of view. You watch only screen, no walls. That's what I'd call an "immersive experience."

They should have released this game on PS5 with 4k 60 fps enabled, not some janky 30 fps. Is the console that weak or are the devs that lazy? I can only star at the resolution mode's sharpness over the performance mode. It make it look so blurry.
Which mode to play? I believe 1800p at 60fps is the way to go. Apart from that, ar3nt there more details added to the PS5-version? In all honesty, even PS4 looks great.
