In the end, it was more a diss track birthed from a lack of respect and communication

The guy speaking is Joel Osteen, he is a preacher. I'm not religious but a lot of his points and speeches are very relatable.

So Hopsin was originally signed to Ruthless records, tamika Wright (eazy E’s wife) owns it and shelved hop for like 3 years before releasing his first album. Then hop started his own Label funk volume with his best friends older brother Dame Ritter, but Dame was taking a huge percent of their profits without doing much of the work

Love your reactions bro, just binged a bunch of them. There's a series of videos recently of Dame and Hopsin talking about what went down. Long story short, Hopsin and Swizzz started the rap group "Funk Volume" and shortly after, brought in Dame, who is Swizzz's brother. Dame had a business degree and offered to help with the business side of the label. However, tension built up from many small things, leading Hopsin to no longer trust Dame, and eventually leading to him leaving his own record label, starting his own(Undercover Prodigy), and making this song. In the new interviews, Hopsin talks about being in a dark place and lashing out. And that he blames himself for not asking more questions and trying to learn the business. He's in a new place mentally now, as you saw in his latest song "Your House".

A lot of people seem to miss the line "you on that same bullshit Tomica brought." For those who don't know, prior to starting FV, Hopsin actually signed with Ruthless Records, which is under the control of Tomica Wright, Eazy-E's widow. Essentially she signed him and then shelved him, giving him almost no promotion and keeping him under contract for... 2-3 years if I remember correctly? Essentially promised him money if he hit a certain amount of sales, and then took away his ability to do so.

Funk volume was also an independent label, and hopsin started it with damon he was partial owner... but put him in charge of the business side... but this song is when he started u.p aka undercover prodigy his own label by himself.

Hopsin and one of his artists(SwizZz) brothers were the owners, 50/50. Marcus Hopsin suspected that the co-owner, Damien Ritter, was upping his gross profit by playing with the percentages each artist got. At the same time just being a bad manager kind of all around. Making them do multiple hours long meet and greets every day, starting random ventures like a fintness program, and making bad deals by getting tiny gigs or larger gigs for not enough money. He basically accepted every offer whether it was positive or negative for the business as a whole. Hopsin sold his ownership stake in the company/label that he himself created, Funk Volume, to Damien Ritter so he could leave the label with his masters and without legal troubles. He then created a new company/label called “Undercover Prodigy” or “UP”. So now Damien Ritter owns the entirety of Funk volume, the masters (besides Hopsin’s), the assets, the artists, etc. And Hopsin is now the 100% owner of his new label, undercover prodigy.

Once you get scammed once. The likelihood of it happening again is multiplied tenfold. Break the cycle, ask questions. Hard questions that might be uncomfortable.

I know this is super late, but "Tomica" was referring to Tomica Wright, Eazy-E's past wife. Hopsin was signed to their label when she was head of it, if I remember correctly! Before he made Funk Volume of course, which this video is addressing the main fall out that caused it to disband. Hopsin started Funk Volume, and Dame joined very early, being the business side of things
