Apparently there is no need for w-clips, which the industry uses. So this eliminates putting stainless or other metals into the ground and wasting money and time by reaching for a w-clip, or buying them. Nice demonstration! The two handed symetric knot tie is simple and shows well how its done. TY.

Citra is not grown in Australia. Since this video was filmed in the early 2000s, it could be Cascade, Cluster, Helga, Millennium, Opal, Super Pride, Victoria or Willamette. HPA have now transitioned to proprietary Aussie hops - Eclipse, Ella, Enigma, Galaxy, Topaz and Vic Secret.

This process will cause a massive loss of that yellow resin. How unfortunate. It's the best part of hops.

I DISAGREE TRAVIS . This is the best way to pick the hops, environmentaly and ecomomically. The hops do not loose the lupnim (the yellow stuff as you say) The hops are at this point about 85% water. If it was very Hot and dry for a long time that would have a small impact on the Lupnim loss. As in old time we picked hops at night to reduce this. Some farms still pick at night but most large farms will pick in the day.
