The meeting quickly grew contentious between Bennett and Select Board Chair Muriel Kramer, who accused the chief of a failure to lead his department. Kramer noted several vacancies in the command staff and also cited insufficient processes that led to the disclosure of sensitive information. Bennett fired back, saying that Kramer had been waging a personal campaign against him and had created a hostile work environment.
