I KNOW I DIDN'T 100% LISTEN/LOOK FOR DETAILS IN THE STORY AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO BITCH ABOUT IT BUUUUTTTT... the more I listen to the album as a whole, the more fascinated I get with the story and the way that Halsey presented it. The prologue on it's own is stunning, the "Good Mourning" transition is brilliant beyond words, and the imagery from the lyrics is so strong and present I feel like I know too much from what she is describing. She has truly out done herself and I am so happy for her. I hope the internet can fucking shut up and stop hating on her for the dumbest reasons because they are missing out on true TALENT.

I love the album to death, the songs are amazing, but I feel stupid because I can't seem to grasp the story of it. Could someone explain the story to me, track-by-track, if possible? Honestly I'm confused by it because she talks about a boy in Now or Never (which is evident by the music video), but in Strangers she talks about a woman. I thought the video for Now or Never summed up the entirety of the album's story tbh, since I heard it was supposed to be a Romeo and Juliet story except the two "houses" were like two rival gangs in the Kingdom, and I just thought the album was *all* gonna be about her and the guy being like Romeo and Juliet...but then a girl comes into the story. And she talks about a girl in Bad At Love as well. Not to mention, in Eyes Closed, which comes before Now or Never on the album, she talks about two different guys ("he looks/feels just like you"). Did she get with a guy in her own "house" to be like accepted? Idk, I'm just confused, someone help lmao.

Cat Nicole Basically her character is Luna and represents Romeo. She was in love with a boy representing Juliet and well things got fucked up and they broke up, the girl in strangers is called Rose representing the woman Romeo wanted before Juliet. I'm guessing she was with Rose before and after losing Juliet(boy) returned to her but they were strangers at that point. In the end she kind of loses her too, and the album ends with her figuring out all she was through broke her and she became hopeless in life, as her house doesnt accept her and she has no one.. "I hope hopeless changes over time" At least thats how i interpret it
