Holy crap, the pivotal turn in Luca's story where reality started shifting back to an almost normal really got to me, and how it ended kind of made me feel really sad. Amazing story guys, this was really deep!

I spent two months homeless a few months ago, I lived among and witnessed people actually like this. This film brings reality to a real trauma these folks suffer. It moved me, good job relating and drumming up a ton of emotions in me. Five Finger Death Punch - Wrong Side Of Heaven, search it, watch it. I too had a choice to make, stay homeless and live free, somewhat, or answer my daughters call to let her take care of me. I answered the walkie-talkie. This really brought me back to those moments living alone in my head. Many are not as fortunate to have a hand out of the hell.

This film is so well done its hard to express. I watched it through just once but it stuck in my head for weeks. I couldn't shake the idea of, how lonely do you have to be before your mind creates an imaginary friend. Then how long of living with your figment does it take to forgo the chance to find another real person. This scenario haunted me. Then it hit me.........there is no other person......he is so utterly alone his mind is creating a new friend. It was when he told Ford the radio is how he found him that drew me to the conclusion, there is no one else. Just a desperately lonely person with no hope. Well done.

Great story! When Ford presented himself by saying "are you talking to yourself again?" I had a hunch that Luca might be crazy and just imagining his friend from the start, and it was interesting to see if this was the case. I loved how the story was left open, with no questions answered, felt the connection with Luca right there.

His ‘friend’ was the voice in his head that said “there is no-one else, you are all alone, accept it and push on” the ‘woman’ over the radio was another voice in his head, that was the HOPE he was holding onto that someone else existed, that he was not alone. The truth was too hard to accept, so he had a battle raging within. At the end he was having to come to terms with reality. He decided to accept the truth.

Incredible short film. I guess his partner Ford, was actually Dead, perhaps from an earlier depiction of their fight, and Luca was suffering from his uncontrollable rage, of having killed the only human being left besides himself, thus his extreme desperation to find another living soul. His insanity completely took over him. Sad case indeed.

Some pluses and minuses both in this film ( minuses like having filthy faces and skin even after just having had a bath,or frequently finding canned goods but not being able to find/ improve their tattered clothes, a little too much eyeliner on Luca!, both bodies Luca found still being fairly fresh, though whatever SHTF event occured, was supposed to have taken place 7 years previous) Still though, overall entertaining and fairly well done. I would argue that both Ford (Ford gives us a clue that he may be a delusion when he mentions Luca stinks, but he himself is relatively odorless!) and the voice in the radio signal were part of Luca's delusion. The 'HOPE' being the psychological carrot he dangles in front of himself to continue to have a reason to live and carry on. Gave it a thumbs up overall.

Very good screenplay. Its an unusual psychological drama. The dead bodies 'found' leaves alot to wonder about. Some Lessons: Always keep your batteries charged, walkie talkie on, and use a large hilltop antenna to reach far way persons who just might be listening. Just dont IGNORE the signals. Only at the ending is I fully understood this film: hopeful, yet ironically -hopeless in a sense... Definitely a must-see.

The way they sang that song of a better time and how volatile they were and the emotional breakdown of the reality of the loneliness he was facing and a hope of someone waiting for him to find and giving him a purpose to carry on. I may be wrong but was the friend a made up imaginary friend because I am always the last to figure things out. One last question is where was this filmed? It reminds me of home and the east coast of Canada. Newfoundland looks just like that. It made me miss home. Cheers and I will sub. That actor is very good and he deserves a my thumbs up.

Great short film that kept viewer interested as to what happens next. So many questions were left to be answered in the clip, the production team could have another successful film if they make it. They just need to get the word out, maybe with an announcement at the end of the clip.

Can someone try to explain this to me, I’m assuming Ford was dead the whole time and is only the protagonists mind as he tries to find another person besides ford (which he could of killed). I’m also assuming the whole thing has impacted the protagonist heavily in that he tried to take his own life as mentioned by his subconscious (Ford).

@@edwardmurdoch5070 Of course he's aware of her existence, he's Luca's subconscious. And if Luca finds a real person/woman/friend, then Ford would be gone because Luca wouldn't need Ford anymore. Meaning, to my mind, that the woman is real.

Yes. It avoids the major failure of this kind of movies : just showing materials... Sad and bad behaviors without any reflexion on the most important which "what's happening in our brain and heart / soul when facing lonelyness and nothing left. I mean facing hard times of lacks of everything... People and material penuries. In 1972 a french moviemaker made a film in a very nice desertic region I love located south France. The scenario is different but very interesting becose of the dialogues... And situations it sat between 2 "clans" of suvivors after a nuclear attack. A very realistic film... With trully details of what we could have to face if... Actors were perfect but the movie maker took them among the best we had in France at this period. For me it s THE best film I saw about " how will we act if ... In case of a collapse" Ethic... Bad and good behavios... Shock impact on everyone... Generations conflicts... Usefull Competencies ... Lack of technologies remedies ... weapons or peaceful acting... Memories of Old times and new hopes for future... State Power and institutions vanished how to live without rules... Love affairs and reproduction of the human being race... How to reset nature after disaster. Etc etc. Nice movie "Malville"... Inspiring one. with JL Trintignant M Serrault J Villeret J Dutronc... As actors. The end is a "must"...after one year of fights and difficulties then a peaceful and hopeful times with improving ways of life and surviving... State rescue services took them all... Forced them in fact and sent them in a medic and psy reservation camp...except 3 of them who escaped. State authorities declared the whole region forbidden zone for human settlers and reserve it for their "scientific future tests". We see them on a raft... they are escaping on a river. Their white horse following them freely on a hill... A nice symbol of freedom and stubborness... Rebellion against state bullshits. A very humanistic film.

Hard to imagine only one person left no matter what happens. Great film. Emotional, believable, from Luca's dirty appearance to his attempt to pound Ford to death. Well written and acted.
