n hdez, in order to help the dogs and cats, the animals must trust the individual saving them. I mean have you ever looked at the average can of dog food, fat for days. At least a cheeseburger is somewhat nutritional. I'm not advocating this as a meal by any means but if it's going to help, it does no matter just once.

Aarnooozz The only difference is that cats are carnivores. Humans are not required to eat any animal products, and the factory farms were those animals are from are horrible, in the wild the animals are free. We breed the animals for food.

Qiushi Hu then go rescue some, set up a trap-neuter-release program. Even though in China cats might find more trash on the street to feed from: being a stray means a lot of suffering, no matter where.

Qiushi Hu noone expects you to save them all. Hope for Paws is also limited to a very small region - do whatever your abilities and ressources allow you to do. Even if you just for example take one stray female to the vet to get her neutered, that will prevent a lot of suffering! First for this one female, because pregnancy and food scarcity don't make for a good combination; and for the 5 to 20 kittens that she is *not* giving birth to within one year and would have to suffer on the street, plus the potential offspring of those kittens etc. etc.. You don't have to take them home - they will live healthily on the street. Governments around Asia don't tend to apply humane measures for population control as their first choice (--> they will consider culling or poisoning, because it works immediately on the short term and is cheaper), unless there are non-government-organisations that push a birth control management forward. And anyway, even if you just change the fate of one single cat, for that cat the entire world changes!

What a beautiful family! Thank God you saved them from those horrible conditions. It seems like the mama was grateful they were saved. Those kittens could have been killed if they would have walked out of that tunnel as well as the mama! Someone was very attentive to know they were even there.
