These style of Windtunnel uprights I just absolutely love. They weren’t bad vacuums, certainly are worse machines. I use mine with the HEPA bags, really helps them breathe better.

Nice video as always.. I had a similar machine to this years ago.. I remember how the wheel carriage kept falling off.. supported by cheap plastic ends. Anyways..It would be cool to see you do a video/demo on a Riccar/Simplicity Radiance/Synergy sometime. It's the only one you haven't covered yet (not counting synchrony) as far as all other Tacony uprights are considered. I heard that the Synergy is a "sealed system" and would be cool to see a particle count test on it to verify.

Have used a Tempo for 15/16 yrs, got through a few belts but the motor / suction is still very good. My moan is the pivot for the adjustable height plate at the opposite end of the two small front wheels. Just broke again at the small plastic spigot (weak). Ah well not bad for it's age I guess.

Where can I get one of those air particle testers? Also, yes you should do more particle testing. I just now watched your video as I have one of those “$89“ Walmart Widepath Tempo Model U5140- 900s, that I got for zero dollars at the “Dumpster Emporium”. It “runs and drives”, nothing special, like you said. But thanks to you, now I know about the HEPA filter. All I did is clean it out a little bit, put electrical tape patches on the cord, about to do a KZread vacuum video test, and then give it for free over next-door or offer up. If no takers, then off to the Goodwill it goes for scrap. Goodwill can’t sell anything with a bad cord, even if it is electrically taped up. Wish me luck.

So let me ask a question okay I heard that Eureka was now purchased by that t i c company or wherever the hell that Japan shouldn't company is so what about a sanitaire commercial upright who owns those because I have the blue series with the metal Hood. And I would just like to know if parts are still going to be readily available for those. And my other question that I have is how is this Japanese Chinese based company able to purchase all of these different companies I thought there was a law against monopolies on a certain brand of product.

  • @philsalvatore3902

Eureka and Sanitaire were formerly divisions of the Electrolux Group of Sweden (not to be confused with Electrolux USA, which was started by the Swedish parent but sold to Consolidated Grocers in 1969 and was a separate company from then on). In 2018 the Electrolux Group sold Eureka off to the Midea Group, a big Chinese owned home appliance conglomerate who also owns GE home appliances in the US. Electrolux Group in the US owns Frigidaire, Tappan, Gibson and Westinghouse brands of home appliances. They were closing a deal to buy GE appliances in the US when the US Justice Department sued to stop the merger to prevent them from becoming an oligopoly with only Whirlpool as competition. The courts ruled against Electrolux Group and the merger was stopped. GE still wanted to shed its appliance business and ended up selling to Midea Group. In 2019 the Electrolux Group sold Sanitaire to Bissell. There are some funny stories about how Sanitaire employees, who considered Bissell their arch enemy, refused to cooperate with the merger and made it rough for Bissell. TTI owns Hoover in the US, Oreck, Dirt Devil, Royal (though they are no longer made TTI owns the brand name), Rigid and Ryobi. In Europe, Hoover's former European operations were bought by Candy Group of Italy, which in turn was bought by Midea Group of China. So you have arch rival appliance firms from China, TTI and Midea Group, owning the Hoover brand in the US and Europe respectively, and no common products between them. But they use the same logos!

Tylon Barnes if we're talking about a Hoover u6430 they made many different Motors all of which were to be replaced as a whole unit. When Maytag bought Hoover that's when Motors became replace is a complete assembly with the exception of a "guardsman" and" convertible"which makes sense because it usually takes more time and money to rebuild a motor than it does to buy new one .

+Brian Burke HEPA bags are the best you're going to get on this unit. You also have to remember that Hoover does not make sealed vacuums for the part so it's kind of a mood point when 1/2 of the air can move past the filters

Thanks. I have two of these vacuums that I bought in 2006 and 2008. There are so many areas where Hoover cut corners. No filter on the side, no headlight, no filter indicator on the front. I have to say the suction is off the charts imo.
