    Bruce Charlie Dude, you have every right to like JC but honestly, Chris Harris is just better in every way. This guy can really explain how a car feels to drive, he does not let his personal preferences affect his reviews and does NOT resort to absurd arguments to make his point. Not to mention that he has a true sense of humor (unlike the offensive, child-like sense of JC) and Jezza can only dream of his driving skills. Granted, over the years JC has gone to great lengths in order to get a laugh out of audience, but that just makes him a better entertainer - completely irrelevant to automotive journalism or quality car-related content.

    @@brucecharlie8613 So, while I respect your opinion with regards to your preferred car show presenter, there are 2 things for you to consider. 1) Tiff needell, having worked with both of them, respects the opinion of Jeremy Clarkson, but he listens to Chris Harris when he talks about a car. and 2) look at their individual reports on the Ferrari 812 Superfast. Jeremy Clarkson is massively over-faced by the car and is incapable of driving it without ESC, whereas Chris echoes that the car may be more powerful than it needs to be, also turns off the ESC and is more than able to handle it at its full therefore able to give you a full review of it's abilities as a car. Finally, though it shouldn't need to be said, Chris does GT3 racing and is capable of both impressing and beating Pro drivers, whereas Clarkson for all his ability, does not and is not able to do so.

    Ken Block is a marketer's wet dream come true and Chris Harris, with his very quirky, energetic, enthusiastic and technical way of presenting, not to mention his excellent driving skills, is quite possibly the best car journalist ever. OF COURSE Ken wanted the Mustang to be 4 wheel drive, since I doubt very much Ken would be able to control his drifts like he does if his cars were only 2 wheel drive.

    +KNOW HOPE Well obviously he won't be able to do it exactly the same. He usually gets mad angle on reverse entries.. They are actually proper reverse entries. But in a Rear wheel drive car, those aren't really possible to that extent. Also he won't be doing four wheel drifts, just tail drifts like most people. I'm sure we'll all notice a huge change in his driving style, that's one thing that's certain.

    He most certainly would be able to control the car, but still an awd car will always be better (if tuned properly of course) at drifting, since it has more grip. That allows ken to go sideways in a car at ridiculous angles. rwd cars would just lack some of that straight line grip to keep themselves on the road, so he would have to drift at lower speeds and at lower angles. Maybe it would still be more difficult, but it just wouldnt look as good on the camera in my opinion.

    Not bad! This is obviously like Harris said a chassis car with aftermarket Mustang parts, so it's not like they did the hard part and turn a Mustang into this. I've raced/worked on Ford (and Mustangs in particular all my life), and when I first saw the side I was more amazed at how far forward the front axle is, not how far back the engine is. Not to mention they've been doing that sort of thing since 1965 anyways, back when they HAD to start with a real, fully-built Mustang and not go the easier, cheaper route by using a chassis car. It's no doubt very-well built and I'm glad to see the Mustang getting some love outside of drag racing nowadays (remember kids: Ford took the Mustang ROAD racing BEFORE they went drag racing -- people who don't know any better are the ones who think muscles cars are only for racing in straight lines), but this is still the ~7th AWD classic Mustang I've seen, and the 3rd one of those ~7 meant for rallying I've seen. Very nice car and as a Ford/Mustang guy I'm very glad to see it, but this has all been done before.

    Firstly awesome car! Second brilliant engineering. I really wonder how fast a circuit racing version of this car would be around Laguna Seca raceway or Bathurst race track here in Australia. Or even Pikes Peak. Chris Harris' s face was priceless to watch , you know your doing well when you manage to scare a man with his skill and experience. Well done I wonder whats next... maybe something rocket powered!

    It's amazing how many haters there are on any of Ken Block's videos. For those of you morons bitching about the fact that he did "another" AWD/4WD car, the original idea behind his Gymkhana built cars was to have a car perform and handle on pavement in the same manner that a rally car would on a gravel surface (hence the sliding around). He has simply expanded on that idea since then. Appreciate his videos for what they are, or continue to spew hateful comments out of jealously for not being able to go what he does.

    4WD has always been the ability to lock and unlock the front wheel drive system when traversing rough terrain. AWD is constant drive to all wheels continuosly. That is the way I read it? ;)

  • @areitu

    @areitu

    8 жыл бұрын

    Overall, that is correct! AWD systems are interesting in that there's various schemes that can be used to provide the traction, and that differs depending on the type of system, and how it's set up. There are AWD systems that provide power to all four wheels constantly, and other AWD systems that only drive two wheels until one axle starts slipping and then it will transfer power to the other set. In one example, the Nissan ATTESA-ETS system (found in various Infinitis and the GTR) powers only the rear wheels until slip is detected, then it will transfer power to the front. Another example is the Evo and STI, which will distribute power between the front and rear by default and transfer the power around depending on the situation. Some AWD cars even have a feature called Torque Vectoring where it can send power to individual wheels...so if you accelerate in a corner, it will turn the outside wheels faster to make the car turn in and hold the line better.

    Old comment, I know but just the other day found out why it’s called that. Apparently it was a joke by one of the guys at Hoonigan. They needed a code name, so they used Hoonicorn, it ended up sticking for so long that it’s the name they ended up going with. It’s Hoonicorn because obviously, Hoonigan, and Unicorn because it was a project they’d talked about for a long time as ‘the one’ they always wanted to make with no rules or limits.
