Hookup culture absolutely does destroy us. I used to measure my masculine worth against my peers who were frequently hooking up with girls - I thought I had no value because no girld wanted to hook up with me. Zoom ahead 15 years - I'm happily married with children, and many of those buddies to whom I used to compare myself are either still single and floating aimlessly through life, or have bastard children/divorces under their belts. Measuring myself to their standard was ALWAYS the wrong way of looking at it.

Funny how ppl still use marriage and children as a social status thing like it instantly gives ur life “value” when I know a shit ton of ppl that are miserable BECAUSE they got married & had kids. Potentially breaks a man in so many scenarios. Woman cheats, woman takes kids, woman gets checks from man. Just 1 example. Or ppl just staying in toxic marriages for assets while being miserable. Happens scary often. Don’t get me wrong, if it’s given you fulfillment that’s honestly great and I also know ppl where marriage and kids were the best thing to happen to them. but to say someone is “aimless in life” just because they’re single or chose another route is wild to me.

Bro you didn’t chose not to hook up with a ton of girls. Don’t act like you had a choice and picked the high road. You’re not the type of guy that lots of girls WANT to have sex with, so you just didn’t have any options. If you had dozens of hot girls asking you to have sex with them and made a choice to say no, that’s a different story but we all know that ain’t the case 😂
"hookup culture" makes me sick. How you gonna have that much of a lack of self respect, integrity and values?🤦
I am a single father of 3 girls. I taught them to respect themselves more than just giving yourself to any guy. Also i told them that my first time was on my wedding night, and i am glad. I am disease free and i know all my children.

I know some who got kicked out of college since all they did was party and failed their classes. Meanwhile I didn't party. I had a few good friends and my social life consisted of basketball once a week, the gym, just some chill hangouts. Never got drunk or had a hookup with someone I didn't recognize the next morning. Now software engineering grad - applying for masters in AI and computer vision. Working an internship rn and got a few job offers too (after applying everywhere). While on that same note those guys that party had random hookups failed classes cuz they were too hungover to show up are working the same job they had in high school plus tons of debt and baggage now. 100% in agreement. People have been sold this idea that having a high body count is more important than knowing how to maintain heathy, long-term relationships. Often times, the first comes at the cost of the latter.
As a man, I just can’t do hook up culture since I prefer sex to be an intimate experience and that is why I’ll only do it within relationships. I was hoping that by the time I got to college, I would find a woman to wife up, settle down with, and have a family with while my career takes off. What I’ve found instead were women who were drugged and drunk up, ran through, full of mental illnesses, bitter, high standards, and narcissistic. The dating game just sucks and I’m convinced the family unit is gone for good especially with the media and feminism down turning it every chance they get. There is no reason for men to settle down, get married, or form families anymore.

it would also be a good idea to ask yourself if a hideously expensive degree is even necessary for what you'd like to do. maybe even take a couple of years to gain work experience, life experience, establish a good credit rating, etc. THEN decide. the view from inside a profession is often very different than it looks from the outside. having earned your own money will also make you think long and hard about what youre getting yourself into with student loans. its a scary place to be that far in debt. even worse when you spend that money on something of questionable value. if taking a couple steps back and some time prevents you from wasting your money pursuing a useless degree in gobbldygook, or a personal interest with little value in the job market, youre way ahead of the game. despite what many may tell you, theres no rush. figuring out what to do with yourself as an adult, and what path to take is HARD.

Even though I (60) just recently understood the biology behind, I knew instinctively from the first gf 44y ago. Making yourself immune to the pair binding hormones is a dangerous thing. You gain an addiction to the short kick they give, but don’t have the midterm results (I experienced by myself) of „bonding“ to one person. In case of children, this is the thing needed to get them grow up with both parents. I did not live together with someone of the same understanding/instinct, so me and my kid had to suffer from a cheat wife/mother. At least she served as a bad example to learn from. Kids did and now I‘m virtually a single dad of 2 grownups.

I agree. Although I dont agree w some of your other content, thanks for using your platform to share this message.

Ye are gullible. She's run through and has masculine energy.
I never attended college so I am debt free let alone never attended parties like that anyway.
Wow! This is exactly how I feel. It goes beyond college though. Many people I know who never went to college have this attitude too. This is so much more widespread an attitude than people think. We need to end this type of behaviour.

Only problem is a lot of these young women are doing this even BEFORE college. Some are drinking and racking up bodies before 18.
huge props to you for that!! hookup culture is horrific and i refuse to parttake.
Wow, I went to a bunch of college parties and it wasn’t anything bad, except the excessive drinking, but that was in the 80’s and early 90’s, and it probably varies by college. Not saying you’re wrong. And the hookup culture was everywhere, bars, clubs, parties, right outside my apartment door, etc. We had this one bar across the street from the U. specifically for that, frequented by bikers. Didn’t matter where you were. You choose your own behavior.
You are a superwoman! This attitude will help build a happy society and I hope that you practice what you preach! Sorry I don’t know you ❤

You are one rare woman, and I totally appreciate what you are bringing here... true facts .... 💯
It’s like this outside college also especially in the military.
For those young ladies who stumble on this by accident, listen to her or your twilight years will be weighed down with 30-40 years of regret. Now I'm glad I never lived in a Dorm or participate in this bullshit.
As a traditional virgin man, I agree with this wise lady.

Protect this woman. I am 15 and want to be like her. I was raised with the ideas of preserving until marriage, loyalty and family comes first. But I have my doubts if I will ever be good enough for marriage or if I meet the partner. Hope my comment does not sound narcissistic
Thank you, I came to the same conclusion. That's why I target the youth mainly now.
I can't believe that with mental health being so valued in our current society, nobody talks about the mental health consequences of hookup culture. Anxiety disorders and depression being the most common.
@SpagettyCraft

Because it's a bluff. It's only "valued" to make slightly sad people get addicted to antidepressants and alcohol/drugs to "release" stress and then get... medications again to heal all the damage gotten from their addictions. But at all stages the victim pays either for the DRUGS, being either medicaments, booze, actual drugs or cigarettes. And they even make pathetic anti drug/alcohol campaigns once in a while to make it look like they are on your side.
In college I was on stage and back stage. Never did drugs not even weed. At the cast party I would operate the barbeque. Worth it! More power to you!
Ive never been to a high school party or done “stuff” that people around me are doing. To put it simply, I just feel free.
I WILL help fix the social problem of hookup culture. But first I need to get my body count up over 100.
I went to some dorm parties but never frat parties and glad I didn’t. I can understand wanting to have a few hookups and flings because we are all human. But people take it to an unreasonable level
It's throwing away pieces of your most intimate self away, one stranger at a time. Eventually nothing is special when you are with the person you truly want to share everything with because you have already given it all away with nothing in return.
Instant subbed. This is so true it’s not even funny. Just because I chose not to sleep around everyone called me “shy”

Which is why I'd rather remain alone and anti-social.
People have forgotten that college is meant to be more than class and "independence" for young adults. You're supposed to network and build your resume and apply what you're learning by doing things related to your degree. Class is only like 30% of what college should be. Instead it's turned into a giant daycare for 20 year olds and people just go to class and party instead of taking opportunities and meeting people in the field. THAT is why their degrees are useless. Education with application and experience is useless.
I remember there was a girl in our dorm that actively tried to see how many guys she could have sex with. Final answer, all of them.
