Kinda loved this song for long while but just heard it again recently and it rhymes with a lot of my working life. I used to get up at 5am and be on the road on a motorbike by 5:45 for a 50km trip to work summer or winter in all weathers. Home by about 6pm. Dunno how I did that even into my 50s. Then started catching bus a few years ago - at least you can have a kip while someone else does the driving

As someone who did 20yrs on nightshift, this song hits home Now I work days and get up at 3am and I still can't get people to understand why sleeping in until10-11am is my payoff on my days off

The band were losing popularity around this time. Blue Cave was their first album to this point without a hit and reached number 18. Even this song somehow missed the top 50 but it remains my favourite Hoodoo Gurus album
