Hey Chris, great comparison as always. I have one main gripe with my S24 Ultra. It's overprocessing all photos to a point where they don't look good anymore. It's visible when going to the gallery the first time where you see some kind of "original" version of it before the processing ends and then it's a mess... Bright colors are looking like shit after that processing. I found the only way to stop that from happening is deactivating HDR ... but it's only fixing 12MP photos. If I ever try and take 50MP or more, then the overprocessing gets in the way again. I'm really disappointed with that.

Samsung processes them cuz their hardware isnt great enough to provide better photos. They always boosts colors or oversharpens to make their photos look superior. But they are generally worse

The question was not about the Honor performance, but the actual performance of Samsung's software during the test.

I use Magic 5 PRO for almost a year and it completely replaced my DSLR , something which my previous iPhone 13 Pro was not able to achieve. I believe that iPhone has shill the upper hand in video, but for still images, I prefer the more details and vivid colors/HDR of Honor.

Yes iPhone video still is the best betting all the androids being a lot smoother and more consistent. But for still photography the Magic 6 Pro does better here.

The new update fixed what was needed to be fixed, the camera of the s24 ultra is already amazing but it needed a few tweaks which it now has, video for me comes out more detailed than my wifes 15 pro max after the feb update.

Thanks for this. The microphone difference was surprising to me, and probably not valued as highly as it should be. I've always been extremely impressed by the sound quality of concert videos recorded on my Note 10+, and while I've been thinking about switching to an iPhone, I feel like I'd lose that benefit. The sound quality here was just awful compared to the Samsung.

honor did a decent job here, just blow my mind on the nice contrast work.

I think it is difficult to say which phone is the best overall as all three have their moments of strength. But the iPhone never really dropped the ball where both the Samsung and Honor (way too contrasty and saturated colors in some occasions) did show some weaknesses. Great comparison.

Yes, my take on iPhones is apart from video, where it is number one, it is consistent rather than dominating any scenarios or lens. For many of us, being able to point and shoot and know you are likely to get a solid shot is more important than a camera that is hit or miss like the Honor was here.

As always. No phones take perfect shots in every scenario. You have to chose the best for the type of shots you mostly frequently take. I like night shots and deep blacks so honor best for me.

Now on the Samsung did you do this video after the big software update Where their were 9 enhancements on the camera overall... Display now can be used with a vivid bar ..

Before. The photos on all three devices were taken at the same time, and have 19/02/2024 and 20/02/2024 date stamps. That's a couple of days before the S24 update rolled out.

iPhone is always too warm but it was not dropping frames and smoother at least. Plus white balance can be fixed nit choppy footage.

Good competitor to the Vivo x100 pro which is actually one of the leaders in terms of camera right now, but in the end it all comes down to price in your area.... I ordered my vivo for 950$ with a "starting price" of 700$.... not all countries get these Chinese smartphones :(

True. Cameras aren't that good specially bad on moving objects. If u aren't steady, it takes horrible photos and don't mention low light. My older iPhone had better image lol. Battery life? Marketing bullshit. My 14PM had more 4h of SoT on same usage. Hell Samsung is overrated and the price shows how bad they are... Dropped from 1500€ to 1000€ lol. I gonna switch back to iPhone.. The only downside is some features on iOS. The lack of freedom. Honor seems cool but if U wanna resell it later, value will be bad! But it is what it is. Had S23U and now S24U. Won't fall for any Samsung bullshit again. Sure day cameras are good and so are the zoom features.

I don't know why Samsung gets so much love from so many reviewers. I would say overall, the SGS24U is in 3rd place, then the honor in 2nd and the iPhone 1st. I've never had an iPhone and won't ever buy one. I have the honor magic 5 pro just now & the camera is great, battery is epic but the software is dire.

All these phones provide decent photos. It'll get the job done for most people. Consider adding these 2 criteria when purchasing a phone. Resale value (for when you plan to upgrade in the future) and Firmware update. The iphone excels in videography, plus, between these 3, it has the better resale value. If you want a phone which excel is zoom shots get the s24 Ultra with 7 years of update. If you want to get a decent cam with decent videogrpahy but with limited budget get the Magic 6 pro, but the downside of it, between these 3 it has the poorest resale value, and with minimal firmware update support. Apple - Resale Value Samsung - Software Update Honor - Budget wise.

The Samsung camera this year is just below expectations,I even thought that after the updates ,there will be an improvement
