Yes a little more than my guess was for the pricing. At least it's cheaper than the Xiaomi 13 Pro for 1300 euros with no video out, no 4k front video, no USB 3.1 etc

Yes pricey, but it should be around 1099 on launch early bird offer, that's much better than Xiaomi's 13 Pro for 1300.

The Smartphone roster this year is crazy stacked. So far we have the Vivo X90 Pro+, Samsung S23 Ultra & this Honor Magic5 Pro. Can't wait for the review of this Honor phone, this looks really good.

It's a few weeks out a least since I just got it. But yes It's good this year compared to last year, don't forget the Find X6 Pro is also coming with a rumored 1-inch type sensor but I imagine it will be a good 300 more than this Magic5 Pro. I might do a Magic5 Pro Vs Vivo X90 Pro+ Vs Samsung S23 Ultra camera comparison I think this will be a close battle indeed. The X90 Pro+ has had a camera update and is better than before.

Yes in hand feels great, I still prefer a flat display (Call me old fashioned) but this is very smooth and no sharp edges at all.

Looking forward to the review. Tried it out in China. The falcon capture is very impressive. It really can take very good photos of pets amd moving kids indoors without dropping the quality too much. Even without the falcon capture the shutter speed is fast and the focus seems good. The pricing is better than I expected in China too (although not cheap by any means). I think it looks better in reality than it does in photos/videos too(apart from the pill hole which I wouldn't be mad about) and it has a good in-hand feel. 4k on the front camera and video out are good to have

I've done a few tests myself and yes for a phone it's impressive what it can do that focus and how sharp it wis with motion blur is something no other phones can do (yet) But watch has they will copy it for sure they other brands.

Good to see you speaking more directly to the camera, helps to differentiate the video and make it more personal, maybe you can also add a small picture in picture video of you speaking to camera in the shots while you are holding the phone. The Magic 5 Pro looks interesting, but I'm always disappointed the fact that Honor's software looks essentially the same as Huawei's EMUI did 6 years ago and has barely changed visually. Love the channel and your videos!

The quad curves feels great in hand, even if I still prefer a perfectly flat screen there is no denying it feels more comfortable to hold.

How is the Magic OS user experience?

Im not surprise at all, honor does it all to its flagship even upper midrange like my honor 70, totally top notch even image post processing day and night, but software support/updates will need lots of room for improvements, my honor 70 still stucks at November 2022 security patch and still no mAgic OS 7 update. but I believe in honor and its capabilities though.

Not with IPS screens. But OLED, LTPO and Amloed etc it can be. The thing is most people don’t see it but for those that do it can be a deal breaker

It's slated for Q2 so it's coming soon but no exact date that I heard of yet.

I really like the phone. The 4-corner curved screen looks very nice. Camera is quite good and it has the most powerful processor in the android world in terms of performance. I think it has everything to expect from a flagship phone.

Besides no sd expansion, it checks all the boxes ip68, ultrasonic finger print reader, sd8 gen2, great camera, display ,battery

In the UK, price likely £1099 but early bird £100 discount and freebies (yet to be announced), and also trade-in. This is £400 cheaper than the S23U so seems to be much better value if like me, the s-pen is moot.

@@Techtablets Looking forward for the full review and see how good those cameras are! i'm happy to see that making triple or quadruple cameras of the same resolution is finally becoming a reality, because all these high-end manufacturers, putting very high-quality sensors on their main camera, and then the other two or three being mediocre, is really an absurd concept, and makes no sense. Cameras should all have similar and equally performing sensors, independent of the focal length.. not just the wide angle main camera being good and then the others being much of inferior specs, which is still the norm. I just bought an S23 Ultra and going from a 200MP fabulous main camera to suddenly the go to 12 and 10MP to the Ultra Wide and telephoto units, is actually ridiculous

@TechTablets True, microsd was such a convenient feature but with 512gb of internal storage I don't think I'll miss it too much!

This Honor is really very good, even if I think that the pill 💊 should have been centered, but especially 2-3 mm higher so as not to crop in the images when watching video. Seeing this Honor, I have the impression that Huawei has finally admitted that the Huawei brand without the GMS internationally was dead, and that they should put Honor forward (I don't believe in the fable that Honor is independent from Huawei, it's just an administrative set-up to circumvent US sanctions). This Honor is at the hardware level what the S23 Plus should have been, minus the curved screen and pill, and if Honor handles itself well and delivers on its software tracking promises, it will be a big thorn in the side of Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus, and could spearhead Honor's (Huawei) revival internationally.

Yes same about the pill cut out, I would have preferred it to be a single cut out but then we miss out on the 3d face unlocking. Yes it's at the level of the S23 Plus, not quite the S23 Ultra due to the 10x optical zoom it has and the stylus support. Plus it has full desktop mode.

How is the front camera quality?

Please share camera comparison video of Honor magic 5 Pro with other flagship like Vivox90 pro. Since its global launch date is 6th April

I guess will be difficult to find a case to fully protect the camera bump,as you see the case from the box can not protect the camera bump against scratches!

Hahaha some pics from Twitter. For full rev would love to know if IR blaster can also copy signal? For older/ancient😂 remotes that tend to be out of list. Honor 9 could do that. I think I'll be back to honor now that it's basically "legal" huawei'ish. So far love this device.

I'm not sure it can copy the signal might need another app for that. Yes I'm also loving this phone so far it's I think the best of 2023 in terms of features but still need to see the Find X6 Pro which will be more expensive for sure but if it has the 1-inch sensor...

This phone is no doubt fantastic. However, it's still a shame that they compromised too much for the standard Magic5 in order to make the Magic5 Pro stand out.

I might do that but I think the X90 Pro+ is slightly better (at least the main camera) and more likely to do better for views as the Mate 50 Pro has no google the X90 Pro+ does at least. But still the Mate 50 Pro is right up there as one of the best.

No news on the exact date just that it is set for Q2 is all I know so far. As for cameras early days still but I think low light is better this Magic5 Pro Vs X90 Pro+. But I still prefer the main camera IMX989 1-inch shots from the X90 Pro+. And the front camera of the Magic5 Pro is better that's clear to me.

Most people zoom from 2-8X so that is what matters. The 10X is nice to have but not essential. The Honor has a 50mp primary so 1-3X zoom is detailed due to cropping in, and the 3.5X is 50mp, so it has a massive advantage over the S23U in zooms from 3.5-9X due to higher pixels (hybrid). 😊The S23U has an average 3X zoom. The S23U is better at 10X in daytime shots but the 50mp Honor may match or beat the S23U in darker photos as Samsung defaults to the 3X. Overall the Honor will be a much better zoom camera for the vast majority, and for me easily beats the S23U in that department.

I have seen the specs on this unit at GSM Arena showing this unit display resolution at 460 dpi.

But I'm a huge curved display mobile lover bro because of my Nokia 8 Sirocco usage.. After that I bought oppo reno 5 pro as I liked Sirocco display but I'm disappointed with this display to be Frank as they lowered the curvature.. Sirocco has curved display just like oppo reno 5 pro but Sirrocco has quad curved display on 16:9 ratio screen and because of that quad curve or I don't because of what reason the visuals I look on Nokia 8 Sirocco was like 3d, image all looks like it was above the mobile like popping out of the display and I loves that effect.. It still looks and feels like a HUAWEI phone in a lot of aspects. Just taking the charger as an example. The only difference there is the name. I don't understand why they are not capable of seperating them more from HUAWEI.

Only 0.0001% of smartphone owners use a desktop mode on their phone, so it is not relevant for nearly everyone. Buy a Moto or Samsung if that is important.

@@attyarcher That is what I said, if you want desktop mode then there are choices, but like the iPhone, OPPO and even Pixels, the Xiaomi does not have anything other than what is part of Android. I suspect you know that and therefore Xiaomi is not on your radar.

Really why is that? I find the hardware with Xiaomi is amazing but MIUI is always so buggy. And no front 4k video, no videoout and USB 2.0 puts me right off them.

No matter how good the device is. If I can already see that pill up there in the display, that's it for me. Just as crappy as Apple. Then the huge camera hump also looks like shit. No matter the pill kills the device for me. Finally, cleverly put the rubbish under the display or leave it out altogether. And then 1200€ for a China phone? No just no.

Yes the pill notch style is unfortunate I prefer either a single hole or nothing! Bring back the pop up cameras.

What kind of idiots must be to buy Iphone when there is WONDER , Magical beauty like this. My dream phone, i love Huawei the best. P.S. Poor Bulgarian like my can have this wonder after 3 or 4 years :( :( :(
