On Monday, September 5, 2022 at 6:30 p.m., the roll call for servicewomen and men returning from deployments, civil servants and civilian employees, took place for the first time on the Rathausplatz in Wilhelmshaven.
You can see the entry of the honorary formation, consisting of the Wilhelmshaven Marine Music Corps under the direction of Frigate Captain Matthias Prock, the flag delegation of the second Flotilla stationed in Wilhelmshaven and the weapons platoon.
The music corps plays the classic invasion of the German Navy on the North Sea coast: Anchors Aweigh by Charles A. Zimmermann.

Am Montag, den 5. September 2022 um 18.30 Uhr, fand erstmalig auf dem Rathausplatz in Wilhelmshaven der Einsatzrückkehrerappell für Soldatinnen und Soldaten, Beamtinnen und Beamte sowie Zivilbeschäftigte statt.
Zu sehen ist der Einmarsch der Ehrenformation, bestehend aus dem Marinemusikkorps Wilhelmshaven unter Leitung von Fregattenkapitän Matthias Prock, der Fahnenabordnung der in Wilhelmshaven stationierten Einsatzflottille 2 und dem Waffenzug.
Das Musikkorps spielt dazu den klassischen Einmarsch der Deutschen Marine an der Nordseeküste: Anchors Aweigh von Charles A. Zimmermann.

Verspätetes Kommando an die Parade-Aufstellung beim Einmarsch der Truppenfahnen/Ehrenformation. Kommando muss vorm Anschlagen der Spielleute und dem Befehl erfolgen!

Thank you. I was in the US Navy, and visited Kiel, Germany nearly 50 years ago. In the meantime, I learned that many of my ancestors came from sw Germany. My son is planning on taking me there next year. Blessings on all. PROST!

Sehr schön, dass die Marine am größten Flotten-Standort und größten Bundeswehrstandort endlich auch mal eine solches Zeremonie durchführt. Im übrigen auch, wieder mal, ein gutes Video!

Quite an honor for the U.S. Navy to have their anthem played by the German Navy in a ceremony. The bitter enemies of the Battle of the Atlantic in WW II are today firm allies in NATO.

Schöner Marsch, ist nicht schwer zu spielen und macht trotzdem was her.
0:55 Hätte man mir diese paar Sekunden, mit dieser Kulisse, ohne Kontext gezeigt würde ich jetzt denken, dass die BW endlich wieder quer durch Städte marschiert, ohne dass es dafür ein Schützenfest oder irgendwas geben muss… Das sieht auf jeden Fall sehr schick aus, wenn so ein Musikkorps und ein Fahnenzug durch eine breite Straße marschieren. Und das Sonnenlicht hat bis zum Rathaus auch schön mitgespielt! ;) Anker Gelichtet ist wie immer einfach nur Spitze gespielt und die ganzen Hatekommentare dazu sind immer wieder amüsant zu lesen. Ich glaube ich werde irgendwann mal alle Hatekommentare zum Thema „Anker Gelichtet“ mir anschauen und zählen… Sehen wir es als eine „Geschenkidee“ für Bonsai zu Weihnachten…

@@BadBonsai1 Nein, eher das Gewissen, dass ich es mir angetan habe alle Deppenkommis unter deinen Videos durchzulesen und sie alle aufgeschrieben habe. Alternativ kann ich mir auch natürlich den Admiral-Stosch Marsch im 3 Stunden Loop anhören während ich im Kreis im Stechschritt durch mein Zimmer marschiere, aber ich glaube das will niemand sehen ;)

I wish the book had more than the first section of this Jakob Raucher march. The rest of it is lovely and of the period. Why can they not amend the book and add the rest of it, instead of over and over repeating this section?

Das frage ich mich auch! Wer hat diese Armbewegung mit der flachen Hand bis zum Koppel bloß eingeführt? Dann besser die Arme bis vor die Brust. Hatte die NVA besser drauf...

@@13pikelane Die NVA marschierte nach sowjetischem Reglement. Hände zur Faust geballt, Armee schwangen nach hinten durch. Schlechtes Vorbild.
USA marching military tunes are the best. no equal. and they march nicely without hysteric goose stepping. or arm swinging. others should learn to be military yet civil.

Their walking style makes them look like ballet dancers. No one does pomp and pageantry like the British nowadays.

@@BadBonsai1 Richtig gutes Musikkorps! Ohne jeden Zweifel! Man merkt da zwei Sachen. Die wollen, und die können aber auch!!🎼🎶👍
Wer auch immer dem Ehrenzug diesen komischen, unnatürlichen Stapf-Schritt beigebracht hat. Bei 114 Schritt pro Minute kann man ganz normal "frei weg" marschieren :-). Aber schön zu sehen, dass es in der Marine tatsächlich noch Mannschaftsdienstgrade gibt, die unter 30 sind ;-)!

In this ceremony, the commander of the german Naval Fleet 2 and the mayor of Wilhelmshaven wanted to thanked the soldiers for their efforts over the past few months. Including NATO Missions like SNMG1, SNMG2 or UN Missions like UNIFIL.

A) Stechschritt is only for living past honour parade and b) we still have the Stechschritt at some occasions as "first step".

@@leone.6190 Well Germany don't have any good old unique Stechschritt parades like they used to before WW1 and WW2 or even the NVA. If Modern Germany does not do this type of parade I see no point to visit Germany since they march like all other western country's do.. a boring slow walk.

@@landersky5024 It isn’t from another navy. Zimmerman send the notes back to Germany and it’s used here since then. It’s not our fault that the US chose it as its navy anthem. Also militaries around the world play sometimes other countries marches like the British play the German Parademarsch 1. ( of wich you can also find a video on Bonsai’s channel played by the German navy band from kiel) during their trooping the colours parade.

@@landersky5024 well i heard british marching bands play the march "Preußens Gloria" during their trooping the color. The entire Chilean army plays almost exclusively German marches during their national holiday. "The Presidents Own" - the US marching band par excellence, regularly plays German marches, including Adolf's favorite march, the Badenweiler. Your comment only shows that you are unfamiliar with international military music, my friend. 😂

Finde es irgendwie befremdlich das dieser absolut ikonisch mit der US Navy verbundene Marsch bei der Deutschen Marine gespielt wird. Ist jetzt nicht irgendwie schlimm aber ich versteh es irgendwie nicht. Man würde ja auch nicht auf die Idee kommen einen französischen Marinemarsch zu spielen oder "Britannia rule the waves" :)

Ich verstehe auch nicht, warum die US Navy bei Ihren Appellen den "Badenweiler Marsch" spielt. Warum die Briten bei ihrem Trooping the colors "Preußens Gloria" spielen. Und warum die Franzosen als Marschlied beispielsweise "Erika" anstimmen. Und warum die Russen bei Ihren Appellen einen Schellenbaum tragen, ist mir auch schleierhaft. Und warum der Komponist des _"mit der US Navy verbundene(n) Marsch"_ Zimmermann heißt, kann ich mir auch nicht erklären. Sarkasmus Ende.

@@maxscholz7734 nach dem 2. Weltkrieg haben viele, dann ehemalige, Soldaten nach einer neuen Zukunft gesucht und sind bei der Legion gelandet. Das waren allerdings so viele Deutsche, dass diese die Kultur der Legion bis heute geprägt haben, wie z.B. durch die Musik.
Es gibt so viele tolle Deutsche Marinemärsche. Warum müssen die einen Ami-Marsch spielen. Sehr schade😡

Warum nicht? Der Marsch ist doch klasse, der Komponist heißt Zimmermann und die Verbindung zur US-Marine ist eben eine besondere. Die US-Amerikaner spielen ja auch deutsche (ein Adjektiv, also klein geschrieben) Märsche.
