Hello Great reaction for the last animation with elysia and the flame chasers it is indeed a confusing story without context. But in short this story is based around mei and the thirteen flame chasers. 2 of them you know already know fu hua and Kevin (leader of world serpent). Honestly the story is hard to grasp but their is a video dedicated to Elysian realm

For those who played the game, we can agree that Otto is the best villain ever. We love to hate him and hate to love him. Kallen was the only person to ever be his friend and help him open up. We are gonna miss not having Otto.

@@lilisionnach Otto is worth of respect, what you on about? He single handedly rewrote humanity's entire survival chances against the Honkai, all while still having all of his faith on Kallen. Yes, he did awful things, but Otto himself admits hating himself for doing everything that he has done. To disregard your own well being and moral values for one objective, even if everyone shall hate him for it, that is a respectable feat. Oh well, this is how I see it anyway.

And his actions led to the deaths of millions upon millions of innocents, to what, try and save Kallen, whom he damned himself? If he had pursued the same goal and done so without all the evil, yes that would've been respectable. Instead, he chose to be evil, vindictive, and traitorous. So again, no, not worthy of respect.

This game has been known as Depression Impact due to the tragic events of the story. It’s known for sad endings for the chapters but it has turned more happier further chapters. It’s story made me cry both in sadness and happiness depending on what happens in it. It’s a bag of mixed emotions.

da wei just woke up one day and want to know how much depression he can fit into one series before being called grimdark

The last one was about thirteen people from Previous Era. They were really powerful soldiers, warriors and the last defense of humanity against Honkai. They failed at the last war against final herrscher. What we see now is just memories of them, they created a data space called Elysian Realm and it's a exact copy of the thirteen Flame-chasers and some of the Previous Era. Most of them are dead but there are some unknown cases. Also, Kevin and Fu hua are flame-chasers, they are the only ones that we know as alive. In the cinematic; Elysia(not real one) fought against 12th herrscher, Herrscher of Corruption. She came to the Elysian Realm and started corrupting it. In the end they couldn't stop her and decided to destroy Elysian Realm everything within. So that's the end of the Elysian Realm and Flame-chasers.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Its a shame the story of them is only shown in the game. All 13 of them are very unique charachters with cool stories. And as a sidenote, Mei was send to the Elysian Realm ( the digital memory-mausoleum) to learn more about the Honkai from the previous era. So thats how its connected to the mainstory. The Speech Elysia has while fighting against the Herrscher of corruption was adressed to Mei.

Also, just to complement the information of the last animation of Elysia and the Thirteen. They had never acted as a team or something like that. So Elysia's wish, one of them, was to fight all together. And when everyone started to appear even they say "This is something that never happened before", is meant that they finally act as a team and fight together. That's why Elysia was very happy.

To clarify some confusion: - Kallen is Otto's childhood friend, she died 500 years ago, killed by a Honkai beast Otto released in hopes of crashing her execution. In the end he created an alternate timeline where she gets to live (Since in Honkai's Multiverse, time travel doesn't rewrite the present but rather creates a branch) - The characters in the last cutscene are the 13 Flame-Chasers, heroes of the previous era, or rather, lifelike simulations based on them. Kevin and Fu Hua are the only ones that survived to present day. In the cutscene, the Sims sacrifice themselves to destroy the newly born Herrscher of Corruption in the current era

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Fun thing about this setting is that there is NOT INFINITE multiverses. Actual viable branches are something special and few. There are potentially infinite variations in BUBBLE universes forming in Sea of Quanta but they are mix and match reflections of what is going on in viable branches. Gives the creative team the freedom to create fun alternate universes while maintaining CANON of the setting.

@@fchr0099 a very sufficient and advanced science can be mistakenly and considered as magic as some people would say. It'll get too complex to a point that we just accept it and say it's magic

Glad u enjoy this hidden gem of a game. By the way, for the last cutscene, the 13 Flamechasers are the heroes from previous era (Fuhua & Kevin also among them if u noticed). Elysian Realm is basically a database maintained by World Serpent, where all the 13 flamechasers memories' were stored for future generations to learn from it. The database somehow infiltrated by a Herrscher of corruption when it was accessed by Mei in the story. & by defeating the herrscher, Elysia basically have to delete the entire realm, thus the memories of their struggle in previous era. Hope this gives a bit of context😊

Okay a second comment around 1:29:20 moment about Mei making huge decision. What you are missing is whole 2 chapters of Kiana putting on a brave face and denying she needs help even as she is obviously dying. Kiana in those chapters pushes help away and that's what makes Mei take drastic measures. She even lied about not being able to taste food anymore. That's why I love the story of this game. They are people, young people even and they make mistakes all the time.

I forgot that they use See You in the Next World during Kiana’s Chronicles the feels hit me like a truck

Otto had 2 options, create new timeline or change current timeline. He did all of this to see if current girls are strong enough to save the current world by themselfs and making them stronger. He created new timeline where Kallen Kaslana is alive, with whole other future by saccerfising himself. PS: You need to watch Ottos backstory /Operation And Durandals Story /Operation

I don't think Otto's all that altruistic. Everything he did was to try to revive Kallen. Fortunately he tried different tactics, otherwise we wouldn't have Theresa and Kiana, but he still did a lot of evil. Guess the world of _Honkai_ needs to take it with the good. One one hand, humanity needs to be strong enough to face the Honkai. On the other, the more advanced and powerful humanity is, the stronger the Honkai becomes. Otto is partially responsible for the high rate of Herrscher awakenings in the Current Era. Welt might even be the only one he _wasn't_ responsible for on some level.

Glad you enjoyed it! We don’t mind trying to piece things together but also felt like if there is lore and recap videos available we should take advantage of it in order to get the most out of the story we can. (Without actually playing it because that would take way longer than 2.5 hours 😅) 🤗

Otto is like most favourite character in the lore of Honkai. He has done bad things for his selfish reasons but He has done lots of good to the point that humanity wouldn't have as much as a chance against the honkai as they did in this era. He believes the herrschers could fight for humanity. Plus at the end he left his empire to heroes so as they could build for the future after the honkai war ends.

OH MY GOD they really just dropped a 2.5h Honkai video out of the blue!!! I LOVE YOU TWO!!! Also, about the whole 13 Flame-Chasers thing, the story is called 'Elysian Realm' and it is about the previous Era, so it all took place before Kiana's journey. The Elysian Realm is the best story Mihoyo ever wrote in my opinion, pure masterpiece filled with tragedy and emotions. I could fill like 10 buckets with all the tears I shed during that story. To sum it up, it is about the 13 forgotten Flame-Chasers who were the last ones to fight for humanity when it needed a hero the most. You explore each of their crusade and life, that's why 'Because of you', their acts of bravery, the sacrifices and their story will never be forgotten. Obviously the only ones that survived are just Fu Hua and Kevin whom you already know..

@@DrYesterday from what I remember, of the 13 flame chasers, 2 of them are most definately alive (Hua and kevin are still alive and kicking...for now...); The original Mobius got killed by an AI of their own creation who then took on her identity so I don't know if we consider her dead since technically the original is dead(this is what I atleast thought her story was, could still be wrong); Su them trapped themselves in the seed of Sumeru in an attempt to atone for what the remaining flamechasers' plans (I don't remember if Su's consciousness dissappeared after giving Dudu access to Dea Ancora so he may still be out there. His body on the other hand...I don't think anything survives getting hit by Shamash WHILE wealded by Kevin); Griseo is MIA but is heavily suspected to be the creator of genshin's world since she has the ability to create life through her powers. There's also the fact that she is also called Griseo of the stars which could definately be a possible connection to celestia and the constellations of Genshin.

@@mr.mc.doesntexist7693 mobius's story got a slight extension in elysium everlasting, as far as the sim is concerned, the "real" mobius died in the final herrschers attack after choosing not to go to the cryo pods, but we learn later that she, like what otto does 50 times in the story, transfers her conciousness "somewhere", so her body is destroyed, but she's still around, doing something. probably being the snake that Seele talked to in the sea of quanta IMO.

Holy Moly I never would have dared to think that you would react to Honkai!!!! It is my favourite game for years and I absolutely love the Story. I'm so thankful that it gets more recognition.TY❤️

Since Honkai is made by the same devs as Genshin Impact, you can really feel the story and lore behind this. It's crazy. It's why it's so good. And Otto is best villain. He's one of those, you hate him but love him at the same time kind of guys. This was a really fantastic reaction. Look into Genshin some time in the future, you'll love their story too

The story of the Flame Chasers is also very interesting, and even if it isn't really appearent, it is also connected in some spoilerwise way to the main story, so checking them out would be really interesting

It really has been a while since I've seen such a nice reaction to Honkai cinematics. I like how you guys went into the lore, had some feels towards the main characters and pretty much understood what was going on (for the most part). Honkai is not a happy story, but realistic. It's why I personally love the game so much, empathising and connecting with the characters, how they feel, what they think, why they make these decisions is my favorite part of this whole story. For the last part (Talking about Otto's cinematics and Elysia's), there are some videos that have some lore about them, they'll definitely make you understand those cinematics. I personally reccomend Otto's Chronicles (Similar to Kiana's). As an extra, Elysian Realm's story is not connected much with Kiana and the others, however, Raiden Mei was the protagonist in that whole section of Honkai, sadly she did not make an appeareance in the cinematic. I enjoyed a lot this video, thank you!

@@ThePsihopatul unlikely- i was a veteran since day1, tried to get back to honkai couple of times but gosh the UI/UX has become convoluted and i didn't know what to do thing first, what's what stuff that is important, or safe to delete, my inventory maxed out- and im too afraid to delete rare mats for crafting and stuff. And the grinding on Elysian realm was awful. I only get back to play Post Odyssey Bronya Onee-sama and ignored the rest. Say is there a friendly guide for beginner or whatnot around here?

Such a well written story is a f2p mobile game (also playable on pc now) is very hard to believe, it’s honestly one of the best stories that I have ever experienced in any content that I have ever consumed, the delivery of the story in game from the voice acting to the build up and the visuals is simply exquisite. Thanks for your reaction to the videos guys I absolutely enjoyed your takes, there are 3 that you missed out on, the durandal and Otto chronicles and the latest trailer which is called “part 1 finale”. The last video of the flamechasers is hard to explain without giving a lot of context from the latest chapters in game. You guys should definitely play the game on or off camera just for the experience. Also if you guys want you can react to the pv trailers (character trailers) which has some amazing music and visuals, you can try reacting to the two concerts too if you want xD

I watched 3 hours after it was released and still rewatching it. I love how you approach the reaction by adding some lore videos to get some context and some bonus discussion

I...I never expected you two to react to this. Still, thanks for checking out these animations from one of my favorite games. Edit: I would heavily suggest you to check out that Chronicles about Otto Apokalypse if you're curious about what his deal was. And there's another Chronicles about Durandal too - don't skip these two if you can because their parts play quite a vital part in Kiana's personal story. Edit 3: What these animation shorts are really good at doing is that they give you some plots of the game, but leave most of the story unclear to people who don't have context. That's why you are curious on what happened until you check out the game or watch the chronicles. Edit 4: About Elyssia, her name comes from the "Elysium". She's... Well, she's a Heroine from the Previous Era. Let's just say that she's the First Hersherr, who's supposed to end mankind, but chose to side with humanity. She helped humanity to fight Honkai back then, although they kinda failed but she was able to nullify the last Hersherr - which in turn made her last living Hersherr. Then, she asked humans to kill her so the Will of Honkai can't possess her and harm humanity. Thus, making her the First and the Last Hersherr of the Previous Era. Humanity made a copy of her conscience into a server, which served to preserve their history and, in a way, attempt to make her live again. Sounds familiar? Eeyup, this is why Honkai Players jokingly call her "Pink Jesus". 50,000 years later, an extinct-level Hersherr invaded the server; cyber Elyssia and her cyber friends tried to contain it within. But they were too weak. Their solution? Burn the entire server down, killing themselves and the Hersherr with them. Hence, the animation you saw.

Surely a long awaited and fantastic reaction video, great work. Thank you so much for this, can't tell how hyped I was when I first read about your plan on this and you did not disappointed. I just think you did a liitle bit mistake at the end though, jumping straight to "Because of you" from "Thus Spoke Apocalypes", that'll cause a lots of confussion since you haven't heard about the story of the Elysian Realm and the Flame Chaser before. And before that you also miss out the [Otto Apocalypes] Chronicle video, which explain alots about Otto (the best villian ever imo) which is very exciting. I really hope you will give it a try, and also there is also the newest chronicle video which sumarize and explain about Elysia and the Flame Chaser too. Agains, really appreciate your great work and hope to see you react more to this amazing series.

They are great fun to watch even if you don't play the game, great action gameplay showcase and the music are all superb. Some PV even contain some piece of information that may help you understand more of the story (spoiler even).

I can not tell you .. i have not clicked on a video faster in a while.. i absolutely love hoping to your channel here and there ever since i found you with your league reactions. binged through some world of warcraft stuff as well and more. basically, otto was a boy who was born into the apocalypse family (a very weathy and respected one), that founded schicksal, a religious organization that later was responsible for defending humanity against the honkai. since his birth, otto was very sensible and fragile, he wasn't specially strong or capable of carrying his family's duties (so he wasn't considered as a heir to the throne of schicksal overseer), though he was extremely bright and liked to build toys as a kid (the airplane you saw on his short), but his talents were ignored by his family. his childhood was very rough, since he was constantly underappreciated by his loved ones, and felt incapable of fulfiling a role that fell upon him at birth; and that was when he met kallen kaslana. a young girl, about the same age as him. she liked to play with him and his toys, and appreciated his genius and creativity. for the first time in his life, otto felt appreciated and content. kallen invited him to "save the world" with her. fast fowarding quite a lot (to when they were already adults), their paths diverged greatly, since during the great plague era, otto conducted inhumane experiments on dying patients (deemed for the greater good), for his fear of abandonment by his family, while kallen, (aka the holy maid) became a "night raven", fighting for the good and beautiful she saw on the world. safe to say that their life styles didn't fit well. when kallen learned about otto's experiments, she was imprisoned by schicksal. while trapped, otto came in contact with her, and helped her escpae in secret. fast forwarding once again, otto learned about kallen's whereabouts, and that she was in danger on yae village, dealing with the herrscher of corruption. after the battle had finished, kallen was able to contain the herrscher, but was severely injured, being sent back to europe for her trial. kallen was sentenced to hanging (the scene you saw of the short). otto tried to save her, but the church had the final word, and his attempts were in vain. on the day she was supposed to be executed, the desperate otto released a honkai beast on the execution grounds, in hopes of disturbing the ceremony and opening a window for kallen to escape. he underestimated kallen's resolve. in the end, kallen died protecting the people from the very same honkai beast otto released to save her. otto was devastated, and his world turned gray once again. in the following centuries, everything he did was to revive kallen; his selfish actions many lives he took, he only did it for love. that's why at the end of the video we see "this is the most selfish thing one can do".

ye but- imagine a place where Otto didn't simp for Kallen- the world would not even last pass middle age against honkai lmao. at the end of the day, Otto is still keeping humanity alive by all of his inventions. Papa Bondrewd and a certain white alien cat who loves to catfish highschool girls would approve. 🤝

"The snap" is still one of the greatest parts of these cutscenes, and I'm glad it carried over into two of Kiana's battle suits - and hopefully it carries over into the new one coming in a few months.

Also one thing to keep in mind is that most of the characters will look the same but with different battle suits and elements (ex: Kiana has 6 battle suits) so while it may seem you’re picking the same character your not each have either different combos, ultimate, appearance and roles. Hopefully I made it a little easier to understand?

Omg you guys are finally checking it out! Been looking forward to this one! Yeah Def can see you guys getting confused with the last two animations, those last two are quite confusing without any context and it is very confusing even with context. I'm not sure if summarization videos have been released to provide information about those two shorts for setting up the explanation. Trying to make it short, Otto admired the Kallen and how righteous she was and she served as a Nun and strong defender, but due to the greedy corruption within the church they tried to silence her and have her hung. Otto was angered and took over the church at this point after eliminating everyone at the top, and has since been plotting a long game to try and revive Kallen. I think it's been mentioned he doesn't necessarily love Kallen romantically, but more so just admired her so where the greatest gift to the world was killed by the cruelness of the world. Think Green Mile pretty much. In that video he worked to reset the world where Kallen lived. As for the final Short, it follows a copy generated memories/sentience of the past heroes of the previous era. Mei enters the world to get some answers and learns about the past heroes before their failure to save their era. Unbeknownst to Mei she brought in a Herscher that corrupted this digital world and started killing off the heroes in the digital space and is trying to find its way out of this digital world to assault the real world. The pink elf Elysia was the prior era's hero and Herscher that fought for humanity, and knew to keep this current Herscher from escaping she would have to destroy this digital world and all the copied sentience of everybody in this world.

The last one, Because of you needs a lot of context, it is a "mini game" that started after Mei Joins world serpent when Kevin helped her to become a Herrscher, so Elysian Realm event lasted one Year,and it is this virtual place created to tell what happened in the previous era (50 000 years ago), so thats why it makes a lot of references to "computer space", Elysia is the first Herrscher and she is the reason why Kiana and Mei (in the game there are more "good" Herrschers) are able to control their powers, otherwise, they would become just hatred machines, the last images are very very powerful, even if there is no text, most of us cried seeing what the flame chsers were, seeing Eden on her final concert before dying of the Honkai radiation at the very final day of that Era.... Sakura happy with her sister before dreadful events happened, its really amazing how the writters make you care and understand all the characters, and even when u know they are not real, you still care for them, even when they are not even real in the game itself, they are just simulations, ofc, they are sentient and that is explained, but still Elysian Realm was one of the best arcs in the game, everyone tried to defeat the honkai by their own means, even if they were called villians...

20:26 oh, this hurts way too much. Himeko is one of my favourite Valkyries and that part just kills me to see. I'm hoping (beyond hope) that they'll find a way for her to come back, but it's a long shot at best :'(

Otto gets a lot of sympathy if you don't actually know his backstory. But he is a villain through and through, who had a one track goal of resurrecting Kallen, his fallen childhood friend and the girl who he loved. I recommend reading through Elan Palatinus (Kallen's story) and Second Eruption (more current time-period) to get a better understanding of Otto's character.

It’s true that ends don’t always justify the means. But Otto seems like a villain created from circumstance and loss which is a more interesting villain than one who just wants power because power is cool 😎🤟

Watching guys do these reactions was such a treat I especially loved how you both reacted to Himeko this game is such a rollercoaster of emotions action and everything I loved every moment you guys saw these scenes the latest ones Meteoric Salvation Lament Of The Fallen and Shattered Samsara all brought me to tears when I played the game such powerful scenes not to mention how close you grew to love these characters Elysia is also another fave of mine

Really great reactions, and very insightful commentary about everything that took place. Never quite seen a reaction format like this before but I really like it. I hope you guys watch the rest of what Honkai has lore wise since a couple were missed! Really would love to see what you guys have to say about Otto's operation center video since it is probably the best recap for the story (minus that last part you guys watched lol) There is a video to explain the last part as well that was probably super confusing and out of nowhere lol. Mihoyo does not hold back when it comes to killing off characters. Biggest villian? dies(gloriously), 13 bravest soldiers from the previous era? dies. MC's mentor(red haired mommy)? dies. Kiana's adopted father? dies. her mother? dies (sacrificing herself in battle). The leader of the greatest force against Honkai? dies in battle. This game's story does make a impact in my mental state.

Talk about a lore dive. You 2 really tried to understand as much you could and I liked the discussions in-between. ❤️🔥 Honkai is a lot more than what a Gacha game would usually give. It’s got a good cast of characters, amazing animations, and really good story going on. I’m not much of a lore person myself, so I just stick to watching character dynamics as that’s I where I find the most enjoyment out of it all. And I was kind of waiting to see if either of you would cry at one of these animations, but looks like you got the same experience as me looking at things from a surface level perspective. I felt sad, but I didn’t cry at any of this stuff that happened because I was too lazy to read any of the Manhuas or VNs beforehand. So I didn’t connect with the characters that emotionally. But you guys seem to have a deeper interest than me on your first viewing, so maybe you’ll resonate with it more if you look deeper into it. And no matter what anyone from the Honkai and Genshin fandoms say, both games have their merits for being popular and you guys are proof that both can be enjoyed in different ways.

Glad to see you guys do Honkai, one of my favorite games. If you enjoyed these and the characters I'd recommend watching Cooking with the Valkyries, which is a small run of slice of life episodes with the cast. Or Elf Academy for random goofiness with the ELF characters.

First, i'm glad u guys took the time to check these all out, like Genshin, Honkai has a great story though its alot darker with several people dying among other things while also being connected to Genshin. About Seele and Bronya, Seele got thrown into the Sea of Quanta(the dimention between worlds) through a experiment and Bronya was finally able to find her after getting a chance to go there as well only to be saved by Seele and her other side, Veliona.(my favorite) And yes, the Yuri is strong in Honkai, the fact that all playable characters are female only adds to do that. Personally i really like how dark the story is sometimes as well as how the characters develop and love it all. If u like the songs, i personally recommend u check out the Dreamy euphony concert that they did this year, its such a amazing expirience!

omg I never would've expected you to react to content from one of my favourite games ever. Been playing this game since the global version launched back in 2018. And yes, there is a huge amount of content to this universe created by Mihoyo, but the story telling and compelling characters are easily the staying points. Edit: damn, Final Lesson was 3rd in the playlist. What a jump straight into the tragic part of the story.

I always like the first video because the dryness in the guy's voice and omission of events I know happened make it feel like a military recruitment video. Even before I learned about most of the stuff I was sure they weren't saying something.

The whole big sis thing is basically like calling someone you're close to your bro, Bronya and Seele are basically lovers. They're not the only gay relationship either as Kiana is madly in love with Mei and Mei cares a lot back. Considering a future relationship I don't think Mei swings that way. Anyways I don't know if y'all'd be interested but they also have a short anime series on their channel. It's a cooking focused show about the characters appreciating each other and the food they cook. Seele and Bronya do get their beach day there is why I mention it.

I like honest reaction channels a lot and I also didn't get the last one about the 13 Flame Chasers because it was exactly a whole year of story with side stories and mysteries and it was too much info

I came back to this epic reaction and was hoping to see you two react to the graduation trip.

finally! I would be happy and entertained if I could also see your reaction to the 2 concerts of honkai impact 3rd. first concert starfire sonorant and second concert dreamy euphony and all the trailers for honkai impact 3rd are also a highlight in themselves.

the flame chasers in the end are the group of Fire Moths, Fu Hua was one of them. they were the strongest warriors of the previous era 50,000 years ago. Elysian Realm was like a virtual realm with their sort of.. programs in it.

I hope you liked this story that is based on sacrifice in order to defeat the Honkai, so any character can die at any moment... and to understand it, many videos are needed to understand the latest cinematics, in Otto's part Aphocalypse there is a video on the Honkai channel that explains his story and that of Kallen Kaslana, which I suppose will solve several doubts And what happened. As for the latest Elysia and the Flame chasers cinematic, there are about five videos explaining the ancient era, who they are and what's going on, as well as watching the trailers for the characters like Vill-V as well, they'll understand a bit. more in depth, apart from the fact that new cinematics came out where he explains the news of what is happening related to Kevin Kalana and the old era, in itself as a summary of what happened in the Elysiam Realm it would be that: As context for what for me is one of the best arcs in the game we have the part of the story of the strongest man in the history of Honkai Impact 3, I mean Kevin Kaslana and his war comrades known as the "13 hunters of calls". "Heroes of the ancient era who lost to the Honkai and thus their world and all they knew perished. The story is very long, but with very good quality and argumentation in which Raiden Mei (one of the three main protagonists of the story) intervenes, who witnesses the end of the Elysiam Kingdom, where, as Elysia says, the Flame do it. Chasers. They weren't the perfect heroes, but they were the only heroes who fought giving their all and showed up when they were needed most. Therefore the end of the Flame Chasers must be great (defeating the Honkai at all costs even if they have to die doing it, which happens and we see at the end of this cinematic). Then we also note why Kevin Kaslana always mentions that the Honkai must be defeated at all costs and we last see it with his sacrifice and the end of the Flame Chasers. Also, Onmyoji CG animations are also amazing, though I am unfortunately unaware of any videos explaining the full context of that game. (And a lot of text 😂) Given some of the reactions to this, and how you like stories that spark conversation, Onmyoji has a number of stories telling the tales of characters in a similarly thought provoking way, with good animation to boot. Aside from the lack of the overall context of the main story, they definitely seem like the sort of thing you both would enjoy.

51:17 i quite hate that they didn't explain the part that Mei's father was framed because he support Anti - Entropy (Shicksal's Rival) he wasn't actually a criminal.
