Tickets were sold out for the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament as it opened on April 5, 2024, for its final run at the Hong Kong Stadium. The first sell-out for the international event since the pandemic comes as it is held for a final time at Hong Kong Stadium, which has hosted the event for 31 years. From 2025, the tournament will be held in a new 50,000-seat venue at Kai Tak Sports Park. This year’s Sevens, running Friday to Sunday, is welcoming overseas fans who snapped up more than 40 per cent of the tickets sold, with some of the strongest attendance from the UK, Australia and Fiji.

Rugby fans are the best. They respect the game, teams, fans and players, that why you will never hear of rugby fans fighting after a match, or stampede in stadium cos they were upset with outcome, they always so cheerful

Free flow of alcohol but little drunkenness and zero crime. Asia always better in these things.
Some people have a weird mindset, they want their city to not succeed, for it to be destroyed. I love HK. Been living here for 20 years. I would like to see this city thrive and succeed. Ga Yau, HK!
Thank you for contributing to Hong Kong's development!

One LOVE TO HONG KONG ❤❤
HK Stadium is unique, the new stadium is just another concrete colosseum - atmosphere wont be the same and its the first thing the fans will complain about.
What will happen to the old stadium?

@@userabc886 Ignorant comment. There are many Polynesian teams and many of the players on many of the teams are non-white. Japan, Thailand, China, and HK all competed at the tournament in the Melrose Cup. If Indians cared about the game and developed players there's no reason they couldn't have a team.

Not sure if people realize... But HK Sevens are totally ignored by actual HK locals. It's just a vestige from the British colonial era. Rugby isn't a popular sport in HK.
me going next yr if im still alive 😛

@@Hkchinese888 There actually appeared to be more people there on Saturday. The South Stand was definitely more full Saturday and more subdued - All hungover, I think. The stands are never completely full because there are people eating and drinking all the time. People also come and go throughout the day.
China can build a new stadiums 😊 but can’t build homes for Hong kongers 😂
