They didn't even make it 6 seconds in before showing San Diego and showing San Francisco. Even though I think they meant to say San Francisco instead of San Diego, since SD is not expensive.

Luxury, prestige, privacy, but the most important factor that makes the Peak is ridiculously expensive, the FENG SHUI. The Peak is believed to be one of the best Feng Shui spots in the world.

I live in Hong Kong 🥲 came back from London and I feel this. Absolutely fantastic place to live, so long as you have the money

I've been living in NYC for past 8 years, and I am shocked that there are even more unaffordable cities out there. I gave up on buying a house or an apartment in NYC. I instead bought house in a decent neighborhood in NJ and rented out the place to reduce the burden of monthly rent for myself. Can't imagine what it would be like in Hong Kong.

@@stevekain4707 Nope. That’s not happening unless the government finally builds more affordable housing developments. The system hasn’t changed despite what western propaganda tells you. Barely anyone has left the city, meaning the demand for housing hasn’t decreased at all.

Prices notwithstanding the homes on the peak are beautiful with spectacular views. The best of the best.

as a Hong Konger, should I be proud that we have some 1st in the world? properly not some said fact, the price for rent per sq feet in the peak is actually cheaper than the Subdivided room ( Subdivided room is not the same as HMO, its much most than HMO)

Hong Kong was taken by the British after the Opium War. You know, that war the British waged on China because the Chinese government dared to ban opium and destroyed opium it confiscated from British traders. In case you don't know, opium that drug on which heroin is based on. Under the British colonial rule, this Victoria Peak was a forbidden place for Chinese. It's strictly for the British only.

@@bobloblaw3700 Lol. The reason why Hong Kong became rich was because it is and was a gateway to China. Hong Kong became rich because of trade with Mainland China. Hong Kong has no natural resources. No oil or gas. No valuable mineral. No nothing. Hong Kong doesn't even have enough water or electrical power capacity to supply to its own people. They have to get them from the Mainland. Hong Kong under the British had no democracy. It was a colony.

@@johnyossarian9059 For clarification, you left out the word "was" in your final statement. The Peak WAS strictly for British-only when it was a colony but is now open to anyone who can afford living there. It's overwhelming Chinese owned homes, along with some expat renters.

My family owns one of these properties and honestly the views are sometimes unreal and super luxurious but living in that city isn’t comforting is busy and loud outside of that neighbourhood. Our house is now for sale.

So me but I am in south africa, its winter currently so I'm wearing pyjamas worth 250 rand (18, 21 dollors) making about 24k rands a month (1.7k us dollars a month in the us) just vibing with you, but from South Africa tho. 😂😂

Well the real estate market in China varies greatly by city. HK, Shenzhen, Beijing Shanghai, Guangzhou cost the most in the country. Then the slightly more affordable ones(still unaffordable compared with USA) are Hangzhou, Suzhou, Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Tianjin.

This is true. An average apartment can cost you over a million in USD.

I prefer to live in Causeway Bay in the core of the city where by walking you reach what you want and feeling YOU'RE in hong kong. If i need the car to even go at supermarket, clubs, cinema, restaurants and so on then i stayed in italy or australia for countryside lifestyle
