Hong Kong 4K - Skyscraper Sunset - Driving Downtown
Sunset drive in the Central district of Hong Kong focusing on the Lan Kwai Fong neighborhood famous for drinking, clubbing and dining. It has over 90 bars and nightclubs squeezed into a small area. Highly recommend visiting this area! Video starts on Hong Kong's Main Street (Des Voeux Rd Central/Queensway, Hennessy Road) know for its popular Ding Ding trams, continues up into the hills just below the Mid Levels, and focuses on narrow streets of the Lan Kwai Fong neighborhood. Enjoy! Location: goo.gl/maps/PkrKYYMFCbuuqtGz8
Hong Kong (香港), officially the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR), is a special administrative region on the eastern side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China. With over 7.4 million people of various nationalities in a 1,104-square-kilometre (426 sq mi) territory, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated places in the world.
Hong Kong became a colony of the British Empire after Qing China ceded Hong Kong Island at the end of 1842. The colony expanded to the Kowloon Peninsula in 1860, and was further extended when Britain obtained a 99-year lease of the New Territories in 1898. The territory was transferred to China in 1997. As a special administrative region, Hong Kong maintains separate governing and economic systems from that of mainland China under the principle of "one country, two systems".
Originally a sparsely populated area of farming and fishing villages, the territory has become one of the world's most significant financial centres and commercial ports. It is the world's tenth-largest exporter and ninth-largest importer, and its legal tender (the Hong Kong dollar) is the world's 13th-most traded currency. Hong Kong hosts the largest concentration of ultra high-net-worth individuals of any city in the world. Although the city has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world, there is severe income inequality.
Hong Kong is a highly developed territory, ranking seventh on the UN Human Development Index. The city has the largest number of skyscrapers of any city in the world and its residents have some of the longest life expectancies in the world. Over 90% of its population uses public transportation. Air pollution has resulted in a high level of atmospheric particulates in the city.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong
Central (中環) is the central business district of Hong Kong. It is located in Central and Western District, on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, across Victoria Harbour from Tsim Sha Tsui, the southernmost point of Kowloon Peninsula.
As the central business district of Hong Kong, it is the area where many multinational financial services corporations have their headquarters. Consulates general and consulates of many countries are also located in this area, as is Government Hill, the site of the government headquarters. The area, with its proximity to Victoria Harbour, has served as the centre of trade and financial activities from the earliest days of the British colonial era in 1841, and continues to flourish and serve as the place of administration after the transfer of sovereignty to China in 1997.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central...
Lan Kwai Fong (often abbreviated as LKF) is a small square of streets in Central, Hong Kong. It is now a popular expatriate haunt in Hong Kong for drinking, clubbing and dining.

@@rodolfotsang4327 Because usually cities with a lot of skyscrapers are flat. And those cities that are hilly have very few skyscrapers. This city is basically only skyscrapers built on steep hills. At the same time the streets are so narrow so you almost can't see the sky, which is also a rare thing in big cities, cause most big cities have wide streets to accomodate traffic. I don't think you will find any city in the world similar to Hong Kong.

I know - and have walked through - many of the streets you’ve filmed here, and am looking forward to going back next year (I have strong feelings about the current protests, but don’t want to derail the comments here). HK is absolutely fascinating to photograph, but it’s a city of real extremes - I’ve never seen so many crazy expensive super sports cars in my life, each costing more than entire houses here, stuck crawling along at 5mph in the city Centre - and right beside them, destitute old people wandering down the street, picking up cardboard and other things to try and sell. We don’t see or have such wealth - and That degree of poverty - here. Looking forward to my next trip back to HK to shoot the city and architecture again, and thanks for the interesting video!

Great comment. I got that vibe regarding the inequality and feel strongly about it myself. Its a big reason I film these videos. Traveling the world is limited to such a small wealthy group of people. I see wealth accumulation as being a majority of "right place, right time" mixed with a lot of luck. Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers provides convincing evidence to this idea. So I love the fact that I'm able to help people with only an internet connection feel like they have travel. I got a decent amount of videos! Would love to hear your suggestions. I can search my comments and will look for suggestions before filming a city. And yes, the bus sounds GREAT after all the driving I've been doing lately!
Thank you so much Brother for your efforts to shows us the real picture 8 really appreciate
Very beautiful.
i totally loved in HK
when I keep on ]seeing the taxi cabs you have there, I always like how the driver can actually open the rear doors to them while still in the drivers seat, that is something probably our cabs here will never have...LOL

Toyota Crown Comfort. It was produced until 2018. It was remodeled in 2019. The style is changed to the shape like the British London taxi.
Hong Kong is so beautiful
